Made some requests for other second chance style geeklists. So we'll see how this goes.

Everyone has them, they got a crock pot idea in the middle of the night that they can become a board game reviewer, so they go out and pull out a game write and revise, maybe take some pics, learn how to do all the fun geektricks to make it look better then proudly post it for their virtual friends in the BGG-sphere. Only, it falls on deaf eyes, no one clicks it, no one thumbs it, even though it gets through moderation no one seems to care. And so it sits collecting dust on the virtual library shelves.

So go and post your review here maybe someone will find it and learn about a great and forgotten game or take another look at a classic they have dismissed.

I'll go ahead and make this another contest and put up 3 as the starter prize (which is just about all I have left) plus any other tips this list gets.

Winner will be determined by the number of thumbs given to the entry here on the geeklist, but please go and thumb and/or tip the actual review. Maybe leave a comment and get some of these forgotten reviewers and reviews a decent audience.

Contest is open to any review that garnered less than 10 thumbs previous to being posted here. (is that a fair number???)

Contest will close on Wednesday January 9th, 2013, sometime when I log on during the day or night.

Edit: Winners

Well, Technically I won...but I'm not much into winning my own contest and I only had 3 other contestants so I'm giving away the prize all 5 of it!

Congrats to

When I was a newbie I was (am) very poor and couldn't afford to pony up the cash to get an avatar so I thought I'd earn my way there, so I wrote this review, which the idea I'd write several and save up GG to buy my avatar. Not long after I wrote this my good friend

gifted me the GG I needed, so I quickly abandoned that project.

I chose this game to review because I was the only listed owner at the time, so I thought it would be a meaningful contribution to the site rather than just clutter up with yet another review of Settlers.

This garnered the appreciative thumb of 4 souls. To which I am eternally grateful.

I really enjoyed this game, and was excited to share it with the geek world. I wrote the review, got out my camera and took a series of photos, and posted the review happily awaiting the showering of thumbs... About 3 minutes after posting, BGG went down for half the day.

alas, the review languishes unloved...

Not sure if this counts, since the review got 6 and the post containing the review got 7, but I want to share it nonetheless

I was pleasantly surprised by the neat little filler game, seems most were not however heh

4 years ago I added a review of a game by Frederic Moyersoen (Saboteur, Nuns on the run) which hadn't any reviews (and still doesn't, except mine) and almost no info. I thought it a shame cause I actually liked the game.
I had already written a review for the game for a Dutch website so I initially uploaded a translated version of the review.
To be found here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/320709/a-belgian-review-of-a...
But at that point I had just joined the Geek and didn't know all too well how everything worked. Two years later I had a better understanding and I decided to upload the original review too (after seeing several other non-English reviews), but I added some content and some images to make it better.
I'm most 'proud' of the Dutch version, but the audience for a Dutch review from a rather obscure game isn't that big shake
To be found here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/456905/dutchnederlandstalige...
Both reviews gathered the huge amount of 4 thumbsup

(sorry, absolutely no idea how to properly add a review to a GL...)
