Has created an interesting looking game and is seeking playtesters (and imo a graphic overhaul wouldn't be too bad, either - any volunteers?)

Go, check him out and lend him a helping hand

Just finished off a copy of this. I scaled everything down so I could use indented dice...the pictures are smaller than is ideal, but I found in my first play through that you start to recognize the people after a few rounds and its not as bad as it could be.

It's also much more prone to lucky rolls, although it seemed to even out in my one game I've played thus far. Also doesn't seem to play much shorter than the actual game...but my son and I enjoyed our play.

EDIT: The files are up! All of you masochistic PnP'ers out there, enjoy!

Civilization Redesign - Cards
Civilization Redesign - Player Aids & Tokens
Civilization Redesign - Game Boards

I just completed a complete graphic overhaul of this game (details are here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/880022/civilization-total-gr...) and am in the process of actually putting it together.

It's a beast! 300+ cards; 650 tokens; 14 double-sided boards; and a twelve panel 45x21 map. It includes Civilization, Advanced Civilization, and the Western Expansion Map, all in one package.

Here it is in its currently un-cut form.

From gallery of derrickec

The files are currently in the queue to be approved for those of you who might want to tackle it as well.

Pretty picture of my build in progress:

After building Clovis: The Dice Game I thought I would give this one a try since it is similar in mechanics but different in scoring. Solo option available. Pretty fun little game. Not sure if I like the solo version of this or Clovis: The Dice game better. Both are fun and pretty quick to build.

I am planning to do a nice all-wooden copy of this little gem (UniversalHead Redesign) towards the end of the month.
The board & box will be plywood, the counters painted pine wood.

The ground is trembling.

The scout that just arrived not 2 minutes earlier is still catching his breath and trying to talk at the same time.

Scout: O.. Og... OGgg...

Colonel: Relax man! Breathe! Here, take a swig of this, it will calm your nerves.

The Colonel hands the scout his hip flask. After a long pull the scout shakes his head clear and hands it back.

Colonel: Now son, what did you see?

Scout: A MK III Ogre bipedal tank heading this way sir!

Colonel: God help us all...

I took a picture of this elusive and rare game before it scuttled off into some dark recess of my basement. Details are scarce, but it looks to be 180 hand cut tiles made from cardstock from a discarded 3 ring folder, and an almost 2 foot long folding board made of the same. The blue Ogre sheets and the mine placement sheets appear to be laminated. Judging by the tiles, somebody might have used his 5 inch Zyron sticker maker for the first time to create them.

If the game doesn't skitter away, I may end up making a box for it. You know, for safekeeping so it can stay in there and never terrorize anybody again. Possibly slap some lables on it to warn people away. Maybe even find or make a minature or two for inside the box so people will know how dangerous it is if opened.

I built this game a month or two ago but I did a little bit of additional work for it this month. First, I printed up the variant rules and built the counters for them. They game out nicely and matched the original counters perfectly (I was a little worried that I had made them slightly bigger but they came out the same size).

Also, last month I tried building the dice but they came out really poorly since I printed the die faces on cardstock and then tried gluing that to sticker paper to put on the dice. It didn't work well at all. So I removed the old labels and simply reprinted the die faces directly onto sticker paper and reapplied. They came out much better this time.

A long time ago I started work on a build of To the Last Man. I made it through the board and the cards and one sheet of counters but I never finished, mostly because an awesome PNP Secret Santa made me a beautiful wooden set for Christmas a few years ago.

A friend of mine had the game high on his wishlist and when he very generously gave me a game that was on my wishlist, I wanted to return the favor. I pulled out this game from a box in my closet and luckily still had the counter sheets, which were probably printed four years ago. I mounted them to cardboard and cut them out using a Z-Series X-acto blade.

I had always used the regular old X-acto blades and they've been fine. I wasn't expecting much difference from the Z-series, but my wife bought me some to try. I was really surprised at how nice they are. They cut through every single one of those To The Last Man counters like butter and the blade was still sharp as new when I was done. If you haven't tried them I recommend them highly.

I didn't get a picture of the completed counters because I gave him the game about ten minutes after I finished it, but I did get an in action shot of them being cut.

I'm very glad that To the Last Man is finally getting published but I'm sad to see the PNP version disappear. That game was one of the most nicely organized Print and Play sets I've ever seen. The counters had plenty of buffer space in case they weren't perfectly aligned and the fresh set of crop marks per every two rows of counters made cutting them out a breeze. I wish more wargame designers would look to this model when making their PNP games. It's difficult to build, but a joy to put together.

I have the version with actual artists all printed out, and am just waiting on an order of sleeves to put them in. It looks like an interesting auction game and the theme is actually pretty strong.

I also might make a PnP version of Love Letter. I think a Looney Tunes retheme would be pretty awesome. By the way, it is REALLY hard to find a picture of Lola Bunny on the internet that is not deeply, deeply disturbing. Not recommended...

I'm really looking forward to this one. Kind of cheating on this one since it is just ordering 2 decks from ArtsCow, and Sean already had the cards set-up... but I wanted to get it some attention because I _love_ GI JOE. I haven't played it yet, but Battle Line is one of KK's favorites.

The cheating I'm doing on GI Joe I'm making up for by finishing my Crokinole boards. I've got 2 in the final stages and 2 in the early stages. The 2 I just started this past weekend won't be done until late March, but I'm hoping the other 2 will be completely finished by the end of the month.

For the first board I just have the 20-hole and sealing the ditch/rails left to finish. The other needs: the rails, 20-hole, ditch/rail sealed, deck polished/waxed, posts... Always looks worse when I list it out.

This will be the second time I have created this game. The first copy having been passed on to a friend. This time I will improve some things like using little wooden beads for the tokens instead of cardboard. I might even laminate the boards to make them last a bit longer.

Saprobiont is a great asymmetric game that requires a lot of thought to win. Although the factions may seem unbalanced, I think we proved that is not the case. Replay ability is not as great as more complex or random games.

Only downside is that you need exactly four people to play the game - no more, no less.

Got some great results out of various colors of dollar-store foamboard. Glue-sticked the tiles and certs to that, and chopped out with my trusty Falcon cutter.

Since the files here on the 'Geek include the 3-player expansion, I went ahead and made that as well.

Final steps: re-glue a few tiles that were only loosely glued, which my 5-year-old daughter dislodged, and find a box to decorate appropriately.

Me too! This is a fantastic pirate game with some great strategy. And it won't take as long as Merchants & Marauders to set up or play.

I want a deluxe version, James Ernest!

EDIT: DONE!

From gallery of Zimzerveran

The boards are printed on linen cover stock and mounted on foam core. The ships are from another James Ernest/Mike Selinker game Pirates of the Spanish Main and the treasure tokens are made from Sculpey.

James Ernest just made the official tokens available, but I'll probably use my Sculpey ones until the official game comes out. Also, we use a pencil as a wind direction indicator, though my next project will be to create something fancier like a compass rose on a map or some other device.

Great game, by the way. The rules just got updated on 2/21/2013, so re-download them if you haven't done so.
