Played vs John (who really enjoyed it) and Ben (who really didn't). I like the game for what it is - the faster playing predecessor to Descent

If you've see "Aliens" film, then Riply didn't survive this time

Such a great space themed Euro game with a neat mechanic. Played again with John and Ben. Worked for all of us, especially Ben

Mine is the King Up! version. Great filler. Much more to the game than people assume. Again vs John and Ben
John was just in the lead when we had to stop.

Played with the Cyclades: Hades expansion. Players were me, Mark, Jonno and Andrew. Very close, tense game, could have been anyone's, but Jonno eventually won.

Again, played with Me, Mark, Jonno and Andrew.

Jonno won, although there was controversy at the end as we discovered a rule that was played wrong, which meant that he would have tied with Mark who would have won on the tie-break.

I was never in it - stupid dice game

My brother Dave came to FANG for the first time to only play this. We've both ended up with a copy of the base game at Christmas, and though I had since got two additional ships all we could field is 60 point squads.

Its just the right level of fun and complexity. Though I still don't really approve of the Pay-to-Play model it can still be a good game with a fairly low level of investment.

We played three times, 2v4, swapped, then 2v3 ships and I lost all three matches!

Played three player with Richard and Chris.

The first time was an easy win for me as with any game there is a learning element. We then played again and they were both far more sneaky.

The second game Richard won though I think I only heard him once. Chris got himself trapped at the back of the chapel and was left no means of escape.

Always good to teach this to new players.

Chris and Richard then decided to play this game even though none of us had played it before.

I'd read the rules a while ago so got stuck in to refreshing my memory.

We played twice. I won the first game by being more cautious while the other two delved deeper in to the facility. I think we were all seduced by a slow dial advancement. At the end Richard was at the last location, found the blackmail file, and if he could have one more turn would have escaped. We wouldn't have won but it would've been a classy ending.

The second game we never got to the second floor due to a fast dial. Richard won by clever interfacing. I was just at the exit and if I rolled low enough I would have one more turn to escape and win. I didn't, got trapped, and lost.

I am surprised about how much I enjoyed this game. It was great fun and would definitely like to play again!

I was hoping that someone else would add this as I don't know the names of most of the players. It was the first game we played of the day. I believe it was a win for the hunters, albeit with only one of the team left alive.

Finished the day with The Resistance: Avalon. This was me, Mark, Jonno, Andrew, Chris and one other guy (sorry, don't remember your name).
Classic Resistance has always been one of my favourite games, although I think that I'm starting to prefer Avalon, the more that I play it. A win for the spies (Mark and Chris) with 3 sabotaged missions.

Played this with Mark (Hill), Dean and Mondo Dave.
Two of the players were new, but everyone grasped it straight away and it was a good game, and very close at the end. I won, but only by one point.
The game seems nicely balanced and every option can be part of a winning score. It is a little bit of a "nice" Euro game, but I think everyone enjoyed it inspite of the lack of opportunities to evil people.

Played this with Andy Pelton and three people I hadn't met before, and whose names I've completely forgotten. blush

It was only the second outing for this one, and it was new to everyone else.
Being a game of negotiation and deal making, it's not easy to appreciate how much to pay for the different elements and what makes a good trade, so it's not easy for new players. However everyone jumped right in and the game went really well. It moved pretty fast and some really creative deals and hard-nosed barganing went on.

In the end the top 4 scores were £620, £620, £610 and £610! So after all that it came down to the tie-breaker and it turned out the very last deal of the game swung it.

Really enjoyed this one and will be bringing it again.

It had been at least a decade, possibly two, since I'd last played this one - and I may well have bought it from one of the other players (Shaun) when he ran a games shop in Coventry!

An absolute classic game of railway building and share dealing. This was the third in the 18xx series and ramped up the nastiness of the stock market, while also making it possible to finish a game in under the eight or nine hours that the original two 19829 games take.

What makes the series so great is the absence of luck (the draw for who sits where is it) coupled with a succession of interesting decisions. You may or may not win at the end, but the journey is wonderful.

Another choo-choo game

You're all building the railway up Snowdon. Your score depends on how much - and which bits - you do.

Some nice mechanisms, but I am not sure the deck is balanced.
