Look at your plays for the month of February, and then check out the games and see if you can find any games where you are currently the solitary logger of a play for February (or if the other loggers were actually in the same game session with you.) Use your common sense in order to make the search faster. Obviously things like Dominion, Magic, etc. will have plenty of people playing them. Note: expansions that only you logged are fine, feel free to add them as well.

Then share any comments you might have. Are we missing something? How could this happen? What is your opinion of the game?

This is my only one this month. Looks like not many people are playing with (or logging plays of) this promo. It's definitely worthwhile for those who like the base game.

As usual I have several possible games, and usually I pick an abstract strategy game. For a change of pace, since I've got wargame fever lately, I'll add Ancient Battles Deluxe this month, for which I have logged the only 4 plays in February.

I'm surprised I'm the only one to have logged plays for it this month! It's a neat relatively simple tactical wargame which has been out for several years and is based on an older wargame (Ancients). The game is interesting enough to have motivated me to create Ancient Battles Deluxe FAQ in the BGG wiki after playing a few times and reading through the forum. I'm looking forward to playing more and recommend it to anyone interested in the subject.

This excellent Euro cum traditional card game was only played by me this month which is a terrible shame.

It's quick and easy and everyone shohuld have it in their traditional card game 'trunk'.

The first one is Galapagos, but I'm not surprised..
I guess many people don't like this game?
But we like it, to play once in a while

Well.. Actually this is the first time we played this game because it's not the genre of games we like to play..

But my sister & brother-in-law were here to celebrate my 24th Birthday this month.. And they wanted to play a party game.. so why not?

It even helps us completing Our goal for 2013: the 12x12 challenge!

I guess many people play the 'normal' version of Rolit, we played Rolit Travel..

I'm surprised by this one. I played Town Centre twice this month and nobody else has logged a play of it. It's a good, brain-burning spatial game with Lego bricks, supposedly due for a third edition later this year.

I was also the only person to log plays of:

Duckling Dancin' and Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization – Czech expansion, but I guess that's because many people don't log expansions.

Meant to get in more than the one play I did manage, but plans for the last two weeks of the month changed. As did the status quo in PoF, as the Union romped to a quick victory end of turn 4 (turn 7 is pretty much the normal ending time), aided by full Blockade being enforced by turn 2 and McClelland forging an impressive battle record (at least in terms of how crucial his wins were).

Played it after trimming the counters, and downloading the errata written up in 2001 (particularly the corrected victory point conditions). Haven't played it since the nineties.

Ended up a US/Canada victory after seven turns, as the European Socialist Coalition lost a lot of their armor in early combats, and got stopped cold on the East Coast, and in the Appalachians. This allowed the U.S. to focus more on the South American Union and Pan-Asiatic League. The PAL ended up losing their southern beachheads (and Los Angeles), as a result. The SAU got stopped in Texas, for the most part.

Let's see...

Floriado - IMHO, a great two player game, and I even got to play it with another enthusiast of the game (Lorna)

Jati - a much better game, IMHO, than it's reputation would suggest - if not as good as Floriado...

On Demand - interesting game, but just not in the same class as Hotel Life

Big month for near misses - it appears that only a single game of Die Säulen der Erde: das Kartenspiel, Am Fuß des Kilimandscharo, War of 1812, Like Dice, Höchste Eisenbahn, and Samarkand was recorded that I didn't play in.

Realizing the stratospheric prices this game fetches nowadays, I was lucky to buy my copy at a FLGS back in January of 2001.

This gem did not hit my gaming space in a while, but I decided to give it a dust off...I played solo and had 90 minutes of pure fun...

At beginning the Trade was winning the upper hand: the Gungans were swept from the Naboo plains while the Palace Guards were having a hard time trying to get a hold in the palace, while Darth Maul was sparring all of Qui-Gong attacks and Anakin was unable to move...

Qui-Gong was defeated but then Obi-Wan came fresh and started giving some hard time to Darth Maul, while at the plains the Gungan catapults got 'laser designators' (not true, just a joke!!) and began pounding the advancing the relentless droid army. Although the Fambaa shield was brought down the catapults were the saviors there, specially when one of them slayed a lethal AAT.

At the palace the turning point came when Obi Wan dispatched Darth Maul, and the Palace Guard through windows ledge got a hold in the Throne room, all of this despite a stout resistance by the droids... Anakin turned on the afterburner of his fighter and was getting closer to the Federation spaceship...

The Palace Guard stormed the third floor and the Throne Room in force, with support from Obi-Wan; in a daring feat that am positive will earn him some distinction or medal from the Queen, Captn. Panaka dispatched two destroyer droids, giving chance to the Guard to wipe out the Battle Droids at the Room; although still exciting and tense, the writing was on the wall, despite that one group of Gungan cavalry, one catapult and two decimated groups of Gungan 'infantry' were the only forces still standing at the Naboo plains, while the Federation prepared its surviving AAT's and battle droids for a last charge... which never came up.

Anakin reached the Federation Spaceship, while Panaka and 3 other Guards occupied the Throne Room...a complete victory for the good side of force!!!

Another repeat item on the list for me. Easily fits into our lunch time gaming. I continue to be winless. Just the base game as I don't have the expansion (sigh).

Box is one of those ridiculous sized Gold Sieber boxes (3" high!), so it's a pain to try to store in the office. Could easily fit in a Rattus size box.

Nevertheless, it's a perfect change of pace for our lunch time group. Recommended.

I ordered this game from a fellow gamer at the BGG bazaar.

Since I was careful enough to print and read the rules in advance, when the mailman delivered it to my home last Saturday in less than 30 minutes I was about to play my first session on it.

I played 'The 26th Building' with one squad of troops, and my men were massacred by the pesky insurgents...Then it came a session on the scenario 'The Four Corners' and again, my men didn't survive...At that point I was seriously considering a transfer from the line of battle to the rearguard area peeling off potatoes in a mess hall, since my skills as squad leader were leaving too much to be desired (just a joke!)...

And finally replayed 'the 26th building' but committing both Alfa and Bravo squads and this time and despite some casualties, the 'good guys' prevailed and the objective was captured.

I have high expectations for this game...easy to learn and hard to master, it allows for solo play which I do all the time...and since I have two older games from AH (Platoon and Firepower) will seek a way to 'integrate' all of them, which will allow BotG to be played in different scenarios and adding vehicles, missile weapons, indirect fire support, etc. To be continued...
