I have currently 9 games in my collection that I gave a 10 here on BGG. Those are all games that I find outstanding and that I am always willing to play.

This geeklist brings all those games with my comment from my collection. Titles are ranked from 9 to 1 where 1 is my actual top of the top.

Two important notes:

1) I do not rate games, that I do not own - I decided so at the very beginning of my adventure here on Boardgamegeek and I keep this rule alive.

2) I do not rate games using fractions. I see why people do it but I never found it useful for my myself.

Feel free to share your opinions!

The Queen of games. I have fallen in love with it many years ago and I know this will last forever.

Spiel des Jahres back in 1997. I love this game - once more it is a fantastic combination of the simplicity of the rules and a multitude of options. After a few games I change my rating from 9 to a deserved 10.

I give it a 9 but based on the number of my plays this might change. The game is very interesting and the possibilities multiple. I believe this offers a great re-pliability. I'll see.

EDIT: it's a 10. One of the best games I have ever seen. The more I play, the more I want to replay.

Best score solo: 438 (23.03.2010)

I enjoy every single game of the Settlers. The rules are very simple but the options during a game are just great. Additionally this game offers great re-pliability and makes people communicate with each other. Spiel des Jahres back in 1995 - more than 10 years ago. And the game is still one of the best out there.

OK. So I hesitated about my rating for quite a long time but finaly I went for the '10'. For many years I have been searching for a space empire building game that would suit my taste.

RftG is great but it lacks a board and lacks the space fleet building aspect.

Galactic Emperor is dull - it just doesn't stand the comparison with other non space theme games.

Space Empires is good, but the bookkeeping and the involuntarily cheating during games are major flaws.

And then there is Eclipse - it is fast, it scales well from 2 to 6 players, it is simple to explain, it enables ship building and technological research. It has my favourite board game mechanics: tile placing and in my eyes it has just an enormous re-pliability value. Not to mention that all the mechanics work well together and the game flow is great. No snowball issue either.

Is this my Holy Grail? After two games I am far from saying that but I do see such a possibility.

I chased this game for a long time and I was really anxious to play it. I read so many positive opinions that my expectations were very high. And... I was not disappointed. This game has such a depth and is so intense, that I truly believe it is one of the best I have ever seen. It scales well from 2 to 6 players and the multitude of options during play is just terrific.

Brilliant!

One of the greatest games that I have ever played. Huge repliability and an astonishing depth.

Brilliant.

EDIT: 14.02.2013 - after more than 50 games I must say that I just want more Brass. Pure genius!

A strongly (and wrongly!) underrated strategic game. I love tile placing, discovery and marine themes. This game has it all so for me it is just perfect. I would never refuse to play it so I guess you might call me a Conquest of Paradise geek

I bought this game directly from GMT in 2011 - it was one of my numerous P500's.

During the past year and a half I have read the rules several times and finally, a few weeks ago I gave the game a try.

All I can say now is that I regret, that I've waited for so long.

This game is just OUTSTANDING!

I love the theme, I love the setting and the narrative feeling during each play. The game is full of details and playing it feels almost like flying a real night mission during WW2.

The solitaire system works great and despite a rulebook full of details (an extremely well written rulebook I must say!) the game just flows!

My first play made me say "Wow!", my second made me ask "Is this really such a good game"? Now, after nine plays under my belt I can consciously answer: this is THE BEST GAME THAT I HAVE EVER PLAYED.

If I could give an 11 or a 22 it would be to this game.

Absolutely brilliant!
