This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Thrift Store/Bargain Finds List Wayback Machine: The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly lists through time. He is also adding stats and interesting tidbits for us thrifty geeks. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time (with links to all previous lists)
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King Hakfoo I, and pay your due respects to previous Kings Belial, Great_Mazinga, minionhunter, Krazygit, EvilTimmy and Blackwind.

Also excited for this one. Unpunched too! Thrifted MnB Extreme and it was a big hit. Saw this one before but passed it up b/c one of the blue blocks were gone -- patience paid off. Working timer present [though you could easily request one from Ravensburger as I had to for my Extreme copy]
Went back to checking out the shelves and found this sitting there. Not sure how I missed this one on the first scan. Paid $3.99 and opened this one to find it unpunched. Some cards have come loose but everything looks to be there. Will double check this one later tonight.
It had never been played. Not the best set in the world, but it's in a little fake leather briefcase, has a felt board (with fake leather points stitched on), and the cups are felt-lined. It said "Premier Edition" on the box, but the K-Mart sticker said $9.99, so I don't think there is anything "premier" about it.
Believe it or not, until I opened this up and played it with my wife, neither of us had ever played backgammon before.
I play board games with brussel sprouts balanced on my head... in Brussels!
I respond to ALL trade requests.
Complete. Found at Unique Thrift for $1.59. This will be a good one to play with my kids.
Edit: I counted every single card out for this in the store. Took some doing to do this covertly since you aren't supposed to open games to check for components (I still don't understand why this rule exists).
I've been looking for this game for a while (nostalgia reasons). Picked up from the GW. Missing 1 yellow pawn and instructions. Instructions are easy to fix, anybody have a pawn? I also counted 51 cards. That doesn't seem right?? The BGG page says 45??
Edit: I forgot to mention... the previous owners left some family photos in the box. Looks like Christmas time.
Had a good morning today, went to one of my more out of the way stores and ran into a nice group of older fantasy games. First spotted this £1.50 ta very much. First time thrifting this, upon opening also contained..
