Tonight we welcome back Lee who has been busy at work and not able to attend game night. We also welcome back Diana for her second night.

Last game night of the month. Which means that all day game day is coming up soon. In fact it is tomorrow (Mar 2). For more on both our weekly game nights and monthly game days check out our schedule here: http://www.boardgames.meetup.com/495

Lee RSVPed but said he would be late. So we figured we would play 7 Wonders while waiting for him. Travis had to finish up some work stuff so we initially set it up for 6. Just when we were ready to play our fisrt card, Lee showed up. We decided to "deal him in".

For the very last card, I could either build my wonder for 7 VP, or play the (blue) card for 7 VP. I could build the card for free, or pay two coins (2/3 of a VP) to build the wonder. But I also had builders guild that gave me VP for wonders. The way the coins worked out it was a wash.

A very close game:

Mike 57
Brian N 53 (wins tie)
Diana 53
Brian 52 (wins tie)
Amy 52
Steve 51
Lee 49

Mike asked if we could get Tzolkin in in time remaining. I said sure (and was right). I did what I said not to do and had to pull workers off gears in the penultimate turn (placing workers is almost useless the last turn). I had one worker on teh last spot on Palenque (food) and Tikal (building). I couldn't build any momuments nor two buildings (even if I took wood with Palenque) so my best bet was to advance on two temple tracks for one resource. One more stone and my options would have been better.

First play for Diana, second play for Lee and Mike.

Mike 49.25
Brian 42.5
Diana 40.5
Lee 34.5

First play for Steve. The economy was very wierd (kept rolling 1 or 6). It sounds like events also had a greater than average impact.
Trvais was actually short in finishing the game, but it was decided to call it on account of time.

Note that you start the game with 200 M

Travis 910 M
Brian N 648 M
Steve 270 M
Amy 244 M

(edit: corrected amounts)
