A lot of IndyCon 2013 attendees have put up Geeklists proclaiming the awesomeness of that convention. This here be ye metalist of such lists. Please add any that I missed!

Thanks again to everyone who put together a great con this year! I'm not alone when I say I appreciate the work and am looking forward to next year.

Every year my wife Tami and I organize and run a gaming invitational on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
This is the sixth year. Time flies.
IndyCon started with a conversation between the two of us when we wondered, why are so many gaming conventions based around selling stuff rather than just playing games with friends?
So the idea was launched.
We had a simple premise, you have to be invited and agree to respect and treat with kindness all other attendees.
New attendees are friends and family of the original core group and would added by invitation only.
You have to be one "hand shake" away from a previous attendee and then you receive an invitation.
The game library is created by everyone bringing their personal collections and placed up on shelves that are scattered around the room.
There are some amazing games there and I think the library rivals anything you will find anywhere. (Where else could you find not one, but two copies of Star Wars:Queen's Gambit?)
We did not ever want to run IndyCon as a business, we just wanted to make enough to make ends meet.
That's it.
We have had some incredible sponsors that have come aboard over the years and without their generous support the tournaments, raffles, door prizes, etc. would just not be possible.
These are some great companies and I highly encourage you to support them as they always go above and beyond.
Thank you to each of them
They are just incredible.

Coolstuff Inc
The Game Preserve
Miniature Market
Days of Wonder
Downtown Comics
Floodgate Games
The Game Crafter
Greater Than Games
Game Time
Out of the Box
Northstar Games
Rio Grande Games
Saltire Games
StrataMax Games
Stronghold Games
TimeWellSpent
Wattsalpoag

There are just too many thank yous to pass out, but I'm going to try to do my best.

First, to my beautiful wife Tami who handles operations and logistics.
She spends her time at IndyCon making sure everything runs smoothly.
She is a mother to everyone that comes to the invitational and works tirelessly to insure everyone feels welcome and supported.
I love you baby. Thanks.
To my friend Adam Daulton (ooogene) who works very hard to make IndyCon a special event every year including forming and moderating tournaments and driving social media. He set up and maintains the web site, drives Facebook visibility, works with sponsors to obtain product for the convention and provides key contributions in areas to numerous to mention.
Thank you brother.
To all those people (too numerous to list here) that help with setup and tear down and assist in so many ways big and small to help make IndyCon a one of kind event by working on whatever is needed all through the show.
To Shea Parkes for running the Math Trade.
(Oh oh, I hear the music rising in volume behind me...hurry...hurry)
To all of you and you know who you are.

Finally, to everyone that comes to IndyCon to play, talk, and laugh.
Many who come from out of the state and from as far away as California.
Thank you!
You are the ones that make IndyCon the only venue of it's type anywhere in the world.
You are the heart and spirit that drives IndyCon.
I know you all and I am proud to call you my friends.

Wow! The weekend is finally over. After 6 months of working on website, making Facebook posts, talking about it, dreaming about it, setting up, and tearing down, IndyCon 2013 is in the books. It was a great weekend that wouldn't be possible without all the amazing sponsors we had this year.

These sponsors really provide such opportunity for gaming to happen at the grassroots of Indianapolis and grow the hobby around here. Here are those gaming sponsors that make it possible:

Coolstuff Inc
The Game Preserve
Miniature Market
Days of Wonder
Downtown Comics
Floodgate Games
The Game Crafter
Greater Than Games
Game Time
Out of the Box
Northstar Games
Rio Grande Games
Saltire Games
StrataMax Games
Stronghold Games
TimeWellSpent
Wattsalpoag

I'm looking forward to next year already, but here are my experiences of just the convention itself for 2013. Also, as I did last year, I count the number of different people I played at least one game with.

Another year, another great IndyCon.

I've partially lost track of the players and order of the games, but oh well! Here's what I remember...

Thanks to all the people who organized and sponsored the convention this year. It was a fantastic time as always.

IndyCon is a weekend in March and is always a fantastic time to catch up with gamer friends, laugh alot, and generally cavort about in gaming goodness. Tami and Dave Koch always put on a great show.

Thanks to the sponsors who really gave us some fantastic games in the raffle this year! I picked up three new games: Perry Rhodan: The Cosmic League, Long Shot and Article 27: The UN Security Council Game. I know the last one came from Stronghold - so thanks a bunch, Mr. B!

So many of these games were completely new to me - everything below is based on this single play albeit in optimal gaming conditions (convention joy and perfect gamer players). But folks, there is not a bad game in the list in my opinion. And I really enjoyed every moment of the con!

With out further comment, let's go to the list!

IndyCon has become one of my favorite cons. Nothing but three straight days of gaming. The price is right, the hotel pretty good, and a great group of folks to game with. Raffle prizes have been good, and plentiful, every year.

A big thanks to Dave, Tami, Adam and all the sponsors.

Every year I look forward to IndyCon and this year I've been looking forward to it perhaps more than any other year. Having a wife in medical school, a full time job, and a 16-month old means that I haven't gotten much time for gaming and I've been craving a little gaming vacation. IndyCon was amazing as always, lots of great friends and games.

A huge thanks as always to Dave and Adam for all their hard work and making this weekend possible. Thanks as well to Tami for taking care of everything else.

For those that are not familiar, Indycon is a 3 day gaming event in Indianapolis dedicated only to board gaming. It is a fabulous opportunity to get all those hard core games you have been wanting to play throughout the year. Or for me it is a rare chance to play games with the toughest, brightest and most competitive gamers in the midwest. If you win here, you earn it.

It was a great year. I was able to arrive Friday early afternoon and came back for most of Saturday.

I was lucky enough to pull out a win in the game giveaway - Ticket to Ride Marklin edition. I am really looking forward to play this with my boys.

Here is a list of the goodies I got to play.

As always, a big shout out to Dave, Adam, Tammy and all the other organizers!

I didn't get to spend as much time at IndyCon as in past years, and my list of games played reflects that. Despite having less time, it was another great year. Much thanks to Adam and Dave for their work in organizing the event.

IndyCon is right around the corner and I know I can't be the only one who would like to coordinate some games. So, if you have a longer game you would like to get to the table at the Con, please feel free to add it. And if you see a game you would like to join, just post a comment.
