I know it may be crazy to believe, but I feel like I've looked at almost every game in the top 600 on this site. Yikes! I'm interested in many, and I have more than I probably should, but I absolutely love finding out about games that are new to me.

Some are surprises, ones I've looked at time and time again, but never deep enough. I recently noticed Alien Frontiers on the advice of a friend, and now I'm dying to play it! Another member of the site also mentioned Dice Town, and once I really looked at how it played it jumped to the top of my "to buy" list.

So let's make a list of game we enjoy, describe what we like about them, and then we can help each other make new discoveries on the site!

I absolutely love this game. It doesn't bother me as much that there's a lack of theme because the rules work so well.

I enjoy the amount of long term strategy that goes into planning every turn, and I very much enjoy the use of dice to help determine what is available to you. There is randomness, but everyone still deals with the same issues. The amount of cards also greatly help with the replayability of this gem. I have The Castles of Burgundy, though I've yet to get it to the table, but I've not played another Feld.

This is probably the complete opposite of the first entry. There are parts to the rules that sometimes don't work out right, but the setting is so deep! The art and mechanics do add to this dark, dangerous world or supernatural beings.

I like this game for it's story and for the cutthroat gameplay. It's not a nice game, and you have to be prepared to be bullied if you take an early lead. It also plays fairly quickly, which is nice. I also love Thunderstone, and I feel like it's for very similar reasons.

This game felt completely different to me than any other in my collection. I enjoy playing, but it's not because this game was "fun" per se. More like it was a lot of work, tense, gripping, and it was very satisfying when that paid paid out well.

I liked this for its deep strategy, and because it truly felt like I was battling the other players without directly acting against them (for the most part, sometimes you just have to get someone with that Provost!). Also, the numerous ways to go about playing are unbelievable. It felt similar to Agricola, but even less random and WAY more tense.

Man, is this game fun or what? It's crazy, it's chaotic, and it's hilarious. I like this game for it's sense of humor, quick play time, and light-hearted "battling." You are confrontational with players, though actions rarely feel directed at a specific player and more directed at a base. It is, in a way, similar to Quarriors in that it's a fun filler with some strategic choices and a good number of laughs.

I don't know if it was your intention to create a geeklist that doesn't function the way I presumed the title suggested, but.........

If you like Caylus, then you should try Carson City. As you might know (since it's high on your "want/try" list) there is a snaking path similar to Caylus where the worker placement action happens. But there is also a spatial component to it as well, where you are literally creating the City via tile-placement. And there is also role selection and duels in the form of dice rolls to add a little luck. (Or there's a variant included that takes out the luck of the dice entirely.)

Overall, one of my favorite games right now.
