had a brilliant idea for a geeklist. Rate the collection of the user above you
It got to 7 pages. I wonder how many pages with a much bigger userbase we can reach now.

since some people get skipped. It's a good idea to add an entry save it and edit it.
If you got skipped just post a comment under your own entry and i'm sure someone is willing to do the honours.

Simple rules:

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.

Comment on anything else that may come to mind.

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10.

GOGO!!!

OK, I'll take the first bite.

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection.

I have one of the very nicely crafted wood and glass Pacru sets. It's a wonderful game, and I would be hard pressed to be able to afford to replace it.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection.

The user above me is the list creator, and he has a copy of Steel Driver, a game that I would very much like to try sometime.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.

On the other hand, I'm not fond of Power Grid.

Comment on anything else that may come to mind.

As we live on two different continents, and it's unlikely that I'll be traveling overseas in the near future, it's even less likely that we'd ever be able to get together to play. Even if that happened, two game collections of over 1000 titles might make deciding what to play difficult.

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10.

I'd give his collection an 8. I would probably not turn down a chance to play games from this collection.

OK, let's see what I can say about Clark's collection...

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection.
That's probably A Game of Thrones: The Board Game (Second Edition) - it was a gift from my sister and it's my first "big" game.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection
There were quite a few things that caught my eye. The most interesting one was probably Struggle for the Galactic Empire - with my very limited exposure to wargames, I have a bit of difficulty imagining a single-player tabletop wargame, so I'd like to see that.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.
My first thought when I considered what to write here was something about Monopoly. But those are themed editions, so that's somewhat forgivable. Instead, I'll go after Munchkin. Why would you own something so terrible!?

Comment on anything else that may come to mind.
First, that's one huge collection. I know it's really not, by BGG-wide standards, but mine is about 14 times smaller, and that's a significant difference And so many games I'd never seen or heard of before...
Oh, and I thought I spotted a full Project GIPF set. You get bonus points for that

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10.
I'll give it an 8.5. Despite its size, it contains fairly few games I'm familiar with, so being faced with all of that in real life would be quite intimidating.

Great idea!

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection.

Probably my copy of The Queen's Gambit. Great game that I haven't had the chance to play in ages!

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection

Probably Samurai. I'm a big Knizia fan, and this one is pretty high on my wishlist.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.

Hmm... Well you don't have any of my more hated ones. But do you really need Fluxx and We Didn't Playtest This at All? I'd probably generally hold off on getting fillers for a while, but that's just my own preference.

Comment on anything else that may come to mind.

You certainly have a lot of promos, and there's nothing wrong with that! I'm also jealous of your Battlestar Galactica and Game of Thrones copies. I hope to try those out someday and will probably pick up one or both eventually.

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10.

I have no idea what this rating could possibly mean, so I'll go ahead and give you an 8 out of 10. You've got a great collection, but there's always room for improvement!

Probably Tigris & Euphrates, since it seems to be out of print.

Steam. I've played it a couple times and I really enjoyed it. I'd also like to try Modern Art.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.

Monopoly. Besides that, probably Macao. I haven't played it, but, well, it's Stefan Feld, so...

Nice collection, not too large, with lots of variety. It's very well-rounded. There are a few games there I'd like to try. Overall, I like it

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10.

You've got T&E, Twilight Struggle, Ra, Innovation, Cosmic Encounter. So many great games, most of my favourites! I'd rate the collection a 9.

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection.

The game I rank the highest that I still own is Through the Desert, which I value for its simplicity of play, easy accessibility, and great game experiences. I strongly suspect that Mage Knight will take my number one slot, but I haven't gotten the copy I traded for yet, and thus haven't played it.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection.

The implication is that it's a game he has that I don't, and really I see any games he has that I just feel a need to get. That said, I wouldn't mind reacquiring a copy of Tigris and Euphrates, even if I was fine with trading it away given what I got in return. I haven't played, but am interested in, Love Letter, so that would be another option.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.

I've never much liked Carcassone, although I haven't played the Hunters and Gatherers version, so maybe that improves play. Yatzee is too easy of a game to ding.

Comment on anything else that may come to mind.

It seems like a very eclectic collection, with plenty of retail store party games mixed in with heavy designer games.

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10.

Not particularly large, but some serious heavyweights among what he does have. I'd say a 7.

My most prized. That is too hard to choose, as Imhave so many outstanding games. Divine Right is the best one, but games like Saladin (only 60 copies in existance), the Splotter collection, the GMT collection, the Avalon Hill collection, Battle of the Halji...

A game owned by Riddlebox I would like to have. I guess A Few Acres of Snow. I played it once before and did not enjoy it, but it would be one I am willing to try it again.

Despised Game Ticket to Ride probably leads the way. I find it too simple and rather uninteresting. Not so fond of 7 Wonders, either.

Other There are a few good ones on his list, including Lemmings, Urban Sprawl, Here I Stand, and Dominant Species. In particular, HiS surprises me, as it seems much more involved than most of the games on the list. To be honest, I don't think we would probably find many ares of overlap, as I find the majority of games in the collection a bit too light for me, with too much deckbuilding which, besidesnTrains, has not appealed to me. Still, a decent collection start and I'm sure he enjoys what he has.

My rating. Well, if I am honest, I have to give it a 4 for my tastes.

My most prized. I suppose Claustrophobia or Discworld: Ankh-Morpork Collector's Edition.

A game owned by Michael I would like to have. Tales of Arabian Nights.

Despised Game. Too many to look through properly, but, overall, there are far too many heavier war games for me! Any game more than 3 hours would be my despised game - take your pick

Other. Of the games he rates 7.5 or higher (a lot) I have only played Dominant Species (twice), Carcassonne Inns and Cathedrals and Dixit Odyssey. In that half of his rankings we do not have a lot of overlap!

My rating. Well, if I am honest, I have to give it a 4 for my tastes . Way too many games, most of which would never get played.

A nice round 500 games there, John.

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection.

I don't rightly know, to be honest. My Agricola and Dominion collections all sit proud in custom storage solutions which arouse many a gamer's envy. For sheer rarity and 'I want to play THAT' factor, KingBrick and Tumblin-Dice are high on the list. And my first-edition English Goa has plenty of Geekcred. My home-made football-themed Slapshot, using ping-pong balls instead of cards and eggboxes instead of hands, is much spoken of. And I also have copies of Big City and Mr President, which are veritable collectors' items. Any of those would fit the bill.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection

Plenty to choose from. Brass is that game which I have always admired but never really gotten around to showing a serious interest in. Fleet is a game which I have no excuse not to have tried yet, given a quite reasonable price tag. A Game Of Thrones sits along my general axes of preference, although I'm not won over by Fantasy themes. I DEFINITELY need to play Genoa, as a big Rudiger Dorn fan. Indonesia is a luxury that no-one in their right mind would turn down. I sold my copy of Key Market for 100 Euros and wouldn't mind a replacement, although it's not my favourite Key game. Tales of the Arabian Nights is flat-out fun. Unhappy King Charles might just get the wife interested in direct conflict games. And Vegas Showdown seems to be highly regarded too.

Oh, just one? I'll go with Genoa, I suppose.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.

Ha! Stone Age every time. Sucks all the decision-making and competitiveness out of Agricola and Caylus, and slaps on a theme which actually doesn't make much sense at all. I am continually astounded that this is the work of the man who designed the gorgeous St Petersburg. And the fact that John rates it a 10 makes it all the better to rubbish.

Comment on anything else that may come to mind.

I'm generally impressed by John's dedication towards expansions - notably Zooloretto, Aquaretto and Game of Thrones. Clearly a fan of good theme, with a few wargames buried in his past and lots of Martin Wallace closer to the present day. His comments on C&C: Ancients have revived my interests, given that I disliked Memoir '44 for the same reasons he did.

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10.

There's quite a lot of overlap with my own collection, but with some heavier and war-ier affairs bolted on around the edges. This is quite interesting as they are the sort of games I'd be interested in branching out into, but also the sort of games I'd struggle to get to the table with my group/wife. Therefore, a very solid 9/10 from me.

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection
So many gems, but the most prized would have to go to a matching pair of shotglass chess sets. Pretty cheap sets; but there's a definite joy to playing them :-)

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection
I could well imagine getting into the whole blood bowl thing.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection
Zombies? Really?

Comment on anything else that may come to mind
This guy clearly enjoys his gaming on the Games Workshop side. Nothing wrong with that, and good to see their Hero Quest getting some game love. But really David, I was surprised to see you havent dipped your toe into the wargaming waters - maybe hammer of the scots would be something for you to try next?

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10
You will find plenty of people to enjoy and play these games; I personally would want a wider collection, but plenty to see here. 7.

This seems to be getting harder to find and there's currently no plans for a reprint, which makes me all the more thankful for having a copy. Simple, fast, fun.

I like flicking games so I'd love to have PitchCar.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection.
I don't see anything I truly despise but I'm not a fan of Puerto Rico. I tend not to like games that have a lot of specialized buildings or cards (Caylus, Cuba, etc.).

Comment on anything else that may come to mind.
Solid collection with a clear bent toward German games. I don't see a lot of more recent titles. I applaud your restraint!

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection:
While we were way late to that game (starting in this hobby only last September), we have invested, heavily, into Heroscape and both Amanda and I love the terrain/map building aspect. In fact, we're playing Memoir '44 today w/ a 3-D map made of Heroscape terrain. We now have 7 RotV sets, 4 SotM and almost everything else ever released. We'll soon have a complete collection.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection:
Crokinole. A beautiful board would not only be fun to play on, but a great piece to display in our game room.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection:
Dominion

I loathe deck-building games (I blame being burnt out on MtG back-in-the-day. Plus, it's boring and dry, dry, dry. gulp

Comment on anything else that may come to mind:
A solid collection that tends to lean more towards shorter games, but nothing wrong with that. A collection that anyone would be proud to call theirs

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10:
7.5...only due to my personal tastes for 'meatier' games

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection:
The games that I prize the most in my collection are Heroscape, Star Wars: The Queen's Gambit, and Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization. Since the former two already appear in this list, I will choose TTA. This game is quite an experience. It is involving, dense and satisfying. Despite its 3 or plus hours of play, I never got tired of playing it.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection:
A complete Heroscape collection. I do have Heroscape and several boosters but I do not have all of them. Also, I cannnot built several maps because I only have one of each master sets.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection:
Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game. Really boring and dry. I can´t explain exactly why but my only experience with it was terrible.

Comment on anything else that may come to mind:
Great collection, several games in common with mine and a lot of games that I would like to have.

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10:
Despite having Last Night on Earth and Fluxx, I give a 10 for his collection.

My most prized game is Treasure Of The Pharaohs, as it is the game that started my love of gaming many many moons ago. My copy was a Christmas present from my wife, and is my most treasured game.

From Renaissance Man's collection I'd most like to have/try Battlelore. Looks like a fun game, and I'm a fan of Memoir '44, so it should fit quite well.

As for a game I despise in his collection, well, I really didn't like Space Hulk Death Angel Card Game, I'm not a fan of Monopoly, Mastermind or Scrabble.

Something that comes to mind is that this seems to be the collection of a gamer who knows his mind, and knows what he likes. It seems to lack a lot of the type of games I enjoy, and it isn't a collection I'd want to have, but that is because we are different types of gamers.

I rate it a 6, but I can see that many other would rate it much higher. Just not a set of games I'd want to regularly play, but we are all different.

My most cherished game in my collection is one I don't play nearly as much as I'd like. And that is because it is just so hard to teach. And the game play and strategy is fairly obtuse, at least with the folks I've introduced it to.

The one game in the collection above me that I believe I would love to have and enjoy playing would be The End of the Triumvirate.

I don't like Troyes. It's not something I want to get into here and now, but basically I don't like the feeling I get from playing it. I think the mental effort to game payoff ratio is a bit off or something.

Obviously, this is a collection that belongs to a long time, seasoned gamer. Steve has many, MANY games that I wish I played, had, or would LOVE to have. I would rate his collection at a 7.5

NOTES: Oops. While I was writing this about Steve's collection (now two before me), Kevin already went ahead and beat me to it. Hope it's ok that I'm leaving my thoughts on Steve's collection here, while adding thoughts on Kevin's.

List the game in your reply that you prize the most in your collection:
Crokinole. Since getting a board from Willard last year, it's become one of my most prized possessions. I love the fact that you have to hit your opponent's disc if present. This one rule makes the game. And I love the fact that of Steve's 407 games, Crokinole is his top game -- just like me.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection:.

Re: Steve's collection: Galaxy Trucker. I love Space Alert by the same designer, and the idea of building your own ship and then sending it off is really intriguing. Steve's rating note (he rated it 9) only makes me want to play it more: "Great design, and really good fun. Build it up, and watch it fall apart. Not to be taken seriously though, this game is much more fun when just played for the experience."

Re: Kevin's collection: Biblios! I just added this to my trade list recently. I'm always on the look out for light, quick, 2 to 4 player games with a bit of depth and innovative mechanics. This one sounds perfect. And I love the theme of medieval monks trying to have the best library! Awesome.

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection:

Re: Steve's collection: Hard one. I can't say I despise any of them. Steve has good taste, if you ask me. But two do get a bit of a negative reaction. Dominion -- not because I don't like it, I do, and play it now and then with a friend who really likes it. But there's something about the combination of the obsessiveness that it invokes in others (it's Steve's second most played game with 40 recorded plays, not to presume he's obsessive about it!) and its dryness (something Steve notes in his rating comment) that rubs me the wrong way. Second is Jambo -- again not because it isn't a good game but because I had such high hopes for this as a go to game for my wife and I but ended up trading it after a test play with a friend which made me realize it wasn't the kind of game I thought it was going to be.

Re: Kevin's collection:Stone Age! I don't really despise it, but could rouse myself to actually despite it if forced to. I play a lot of eurogames, including worker placement games, and really like many of them. But this one -- ugh. Boring.

Comment on anything else that may come to mind:

Re: Steve's collection: Unlike me, Steve has ratings comments on every one of his (407!) games. That's awesome -- and really helpful to get a sense of his tastes. And his taste is admirably wide-ranging. Among his games rated 8+ are living card games (Star Wars: The Card Game, rated 8), family co-ops (Flash Point, rated 9), light wargames (Memoir '44, rated 9), heavy euro games (Brass, rated 8.5), thematic games (Battlestar Galactica, rated 9.5), party games (Time's Up!, rated 9), and of course dexterity games (Crokinole, rated 10).

Re: Kevin's collection: Kevin has helpful ratings comments on almost all of his 100+ games. Besides the many eurogames, Kevin has many (all?) of the GIPF abstract series, and rates four of them as 9s, which intrigues me. I have a semi-serious fear and resistance when it comes to abstracts. Seeing Kevin's collection has pushed me one step closer to finally trying out the GIPF series.

Then rate the collection for what it is from 0 - 10:

Re: Steve's collection: Wow, what a collection, with excellent taste in ratings (if I say so myself) and thoughtful comments. 9 out of 10.

Re: Kevin's collection: Nice collection! 7 out of 10 for my tastes -- probably this is a bit low because of my ignorance, with me not knowing many of his highly rated games.

When I went to college, I started playing RPGs like D&D, THE Fighter and Runequest. Upon entering the US Army - my exposure to multiple games led me to this AH Classic - which remains my favorite to this day (despite the more "modern" versions).

Upon examining pacman88k collection: The Awful Green Things from Outer Space (I played the original magazine version), Cosmic Encounters (again, my age shows, I played the Eon version with its multiple variants and expansions), Pandemic (VERY frustrating to me!!!) and Zertz are all attractive to me. A LOT of Euro games.... Overall a "4" for me. Likes to play "bluff" and diplomacy style games but not Diplomacy(http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/483/diplomacy)?

SteveBe: Empire Builder, Fearsome Floors, History of the World, Mississippi Queen, Power Grid, Race for the Galaxy (one of the few "card games" that I like) and Roborally hit my interest meters. Doesn't seem like a lot of american style boardgame titles (but not surprising for a Brit!!!). Not fond of World Cup game.... Overall a "5" for me.

I miss AH, SPI, Tunnels and Trolls... sigh.... Hate getting old...

That would be Arkham Horror because it was the first big game i bought and we have enjoyed every game we played so far.

Mention one game in the above user's collection you personally would enjoy playing and having among your collection

I would like to play/have Magic Realm because i have heard so many good things about this game. Also i like rules and complicated games

Also mention a game that you despise in their collection

The Horse Race Game.I don't like horse races.

I like the divercity of this collection.

Third Reich and Munchkin.

A nice collection,mainly wargames,which i don't basically play.
But Robert seems to have a clear mind on what games he likes so it is a solid collection.
I will rate it a 8/10.
