Geek Madness: Double Elimination - Round C
- Tony Ackroyd(1000rpm)United Kingdom
This is an extension of the 2013 Geek Madness Tournament that turns it from a standard knock-out to a Double Elimination format. This side of the tournament will see the losers play off against each other. The contest will work like this:Recommend
Round A saw the best 64 games from the nominations round that failed to qualify face each other. Round B saw the Round A winners match-up against the losers from Geek Madness Round 1.
14 of 32 Upsets by Lower-ranked Teams (teams that missed qualifying for Geek Madness against teams that were dumped out of GM after Round 1).
Highest single vote (winner): Carcassonne with 358 Votes
Lowest single vote (winner): Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage with 168 Votes
Biggest Loser: Earth Reborn with 121 votes
Highest single vote (loser): RoboRally with 273 votes
Most Heated Race: Cosmic Encounter vs. Roborally with 558 Combined Votes
Coldest Race: Claustrophobia vs. Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage with 331 Combined Votes
Biggest Blowout: El Grande vs. Kingdom Builder with 35.4% Difference (163 vote difference)
Tightest Race: Goa vs. Hive with 0.4% Difference (2 vote difference)
Round C will whittle the numbers down so that they again matchup with the next batch of losers from Round 2 in Round D.
I'll be 'rotating' the quadrants that the new losers enter into so that games should not meet a game that eliminated them too quickly.
Voting has ended. The next round is here:
