I'm not saying I invented the fedora, but I was the first to recognize it's potential as a gaming accessory.

I arrived late at ConnCon, around 8pm. My friend, Nate Sawyer had to work in the morning and I obviously had a lot to do considering 'Lords of New York' had just launched on Kickstarter a few hours before I woke up. Nate picked me up at 3 and we fought traffic to get to Stamford by 6. We checked into our hotel and then went out to dinner before heading over to ConnCon to play our first game.

We had to leave early - right after my demo. Nate had to get home and I had to get back to work. I would have liked to have played more games but for me ConnCon is more about seeing my friends from southern CT and NYC that I really only get to see once a year. I was able to do that and I'm grateful. I would like to thank ConnCon - and Mark Casiglio in particular for letting me demo my game. I look forward to next year.

Nate and I played 'Castles of Burgundy' with Eric Sklaar. Nate hadn't played in a while and Eric couldn't roll anything that wasn't a '5' and a '2' so I was able to squeak out a slight victory.

Nate and I woke up early and made it back to ConnCon in time to play 'Ticket to Ride - Heart of Africa' with Jennifer and her son Bodon, taught by Dustin Gervaise. Nate took full advantage of the new terrain cards and I tried to follow his lead but Nate really ran away with this game.

I really enjoy the Ticket to Ride games and don't get to play them as often as I would like. I need to add 'Heart of Africa' to my collection.

Nate wanted to play Stone Age and I'm always happy to play. Jennifer and Bodon joined us and we had a nice little four player game. I was going for the farm and tool multipliers but Nate with the starvation strategy. There was nothing I could do to stop him even though I successfully encouraged Jennifer and her son to try to help me. Nate beat me by about 50 points and lapped our new friends. Good game though. I enjoy teaching 'Stone Age' to new players.

After a short break I set up to demo our new game 'Lords of New York'. This is a PC/Mac/iOS game we launched on Kickstarter Friday morning. It's an adventure/poker game set in prohibition era New York where you play one of three poker players. Each poker player has talents based on their personalities - Vince the mafia captain can cheat and intimidate people, Veronica the investigative reporter is good with intuition and reading people. I don't think any other poker game gives you those abilities. Other games expect you to be an expert poker player while we give you the tools to be one.
