Man, last round had three razor thin decisions. But the die has been cast. I'm looking at the previous geeklist at 9.29 pm (BGG Time) and taking these as the results (I didn't pick the time specifically, it's just when I finished my last game).

As stated in the original thread --
"So, it's the end of the world. The baddies are invading, the chips are down. You've got to beat the implacable foe. In each round, you pick your champion, who will go toe to toe with the (offended) party you didn't pick. Is this a straight up fight? A battle of wits? Who knows ... its "Caveman or Astronaut? Who would win."

You only get to pick one."

I've "closed" the polls from the The Sci Fi Cage Match .... Round of Sixteen! (Well, I've extracted all the data, although the polls had no official end date).

Now we're down to the top eight! These polls will be 'open' for roughly a week!

You can subscribe to the The Sci Fi Cage Match Subscription GL for updates!

In this semi, it's Han Solo vs Paul Atreides.

Han Solo (#1) beat Sam Bell, Buckaroo Banzai, & Ender Wiggin before decisively trouncing Captain Malcolm Reynolds.

Paul Atreides (#12) defeated Jack O'Neill, Rose Tyler, Luke Skywalker and edged out Spock (224-209).

Who will win?

On one side ... Captain Jean Luc Picard (#3).

Picard (#3) has bid adieu to Jay, Dana Sculley and Buffy the Vampire Slayer before eliminating Ellen Ripley 243-227.

But that was a decisive battle compared to the razor sharp fight between Captain James T Kirk (#2) and the Doctor (#7). If you look at the comments for the last geeklist, you can see it was neck and neck the whole way. And tied fairly often.

And then broken, and a small lead, and tied again.

But when I looked at the poll just now, there was a ONE VOTE difference.

Who would win?
Captain Jean Luc Picard (#3)
The Doctor (#7)

The Doctor (#7) defeated Roj Blake, R2D2, Neo and Kirk.

But can he handle the next generation of Starfleet's Best?

Update -- (And, to be fair, I just refreshed the previous geeklist, and the total was the same when I finished. So, result stands).
