Lets start with this SPI classic. Tough to solo and an excercise in patience, this one is one of the best thematic games dealing with spies spanning the years leading up to WWII.

This recent gem deserves a worthy Golden Bullet and is very "Bond" thematic. A great story line game in the tradition of Tales of the Arabian Nights, it doesn't outlast its welcome. In terms of receiving and completing missions, this one ranks very high on my list as well as fulfills the co-op game genre.

Yeah that's right. This one. The traitor isn't a traitor, they're a downright spy. A secret agent alien, infiltrated into the population to be activated at the right time to wreak havoc. And the best part is they may not even know it (well probably not true in this game but you know what I mean).

More in the Euro category, this one deals more with secret societies as well as the spies needed to infiltrate those circles. Auctions abound to get the guys you want. Not sure why this one didn't do better than it did and it's a hidden gem if you can find a copy.

A simple card/hand-management game of see-saw action trying to dominate country rows with your agents. The theme is pasted on but I like the mechanics and as a 2-player game it's not bad.

Square in the abstract category, this one is an excellent twist on STRATEGO with a cold-war theme. The components on this are top notch and the puzzle process of deciphering what's where is outstanding and makes your head hurt in a good way. But again, very abstracted spy action.

Squarely in the "family game" family of games but thematically the bluff, challenge aspect fits nicely. You can still find this a low prices and it's worth having for quick fun family play. There's even elements of collusion and knocking off opponents. This one's probably in a dead heat with Heimlich & Co. for that spy related game in the family games category. I guess it's a toss up depending on which you like more.

Still one of the better deduction games about finding your partner in crime. What better mask for a spy to hide under than a... well, a mask! This one has been done by no less than eight different publishers throughout the world and deserves a spot on this list.

Retro. You might think this game is about chasing submarines in a wartime scenario, but it's not. Certainly a cat and mouse chase with a cool electronic search mechanism.

"One player is the spy who has two ships trying to get to a location and back to his hideout. The other player, the agent, sits on the other side of the upright board and has one helicopter that moves twice as fast, and tries to catch either spy ship."

All your favorite agents with goofy names and all about player elimination. I guess if you took Frag and gave it a secret agent theme, this is the game you'd get (and FRAG is considerably better). Still, this one probably doesn't rank high for many due to confusing rules and the player elimination aspect, hence it's at the bottom of my list. So if you can slog through the rules, and if you like to whomp on your opponents, take a look. You can probably find this for cheap. Or then again, maybe this one needs to be the target of a Golden Bullet.
