Hiya

Today my alarmclock died due to a tragic accident with the wall ..

Looks like I'll have to craft a new one ..

Maybe I'll even craft some games, while I'm at it ..

How about you?

The 2 player contest has ended.
Lots of games have been crafted - some very cool ones as well.

I just remembered the first contest, I participated in; the "4-tile-contest":
Contest - 4 cards or tiles only - win 15GG
The price has been a stunning 15 though the results have been no less impressing than those created during this contest.

Yet, as said before, lots of cool games have been created during the 2-player contest. Do I have a preference? Hmm, no
Each game is a masterpiece of its own and I can only recommend looking into every single one of them.
Whatever you like to play - you will find something for your tastes!

I purchased this after seeing the Dice Tower review.
It looks fairly easy to construct but I am waiting on some parts from Print & Play Productions.
Should be a really fun 2 player game with a chunk of 8 bit nostalgia thrown in!

Saw this in a recent search for solo games.
Printed out everything you need for one player.
I don't really know if it is good or not as a solo game but the artwork looks elegantly simple. thumbsup
Only five pages of components and a rule book make this a small build as well.
Hopefully the construction will be quick, although Hexes can be a pain when they are laid out like this.

I'm hoping to get a home-brew version of this made this month - planning to make all of the components myself out of wood (except for printables, of course)... assuming I get the pain-in-my-behind table finished that has been tying up my workshop for months...

I found recently that this one had available pdf files online for only $9 or so. I might be tempted to make this one. Especially now that I got this in the April G4GG!

Or I might try to make A Study in Emerald, looks fun although perhaps not something for my group.

And I'll definetly look at the 2p PnP competition, although I bailed out of it myself!

I have been working on my own solo Pen and Paper Dungeon crawl for years. In fact I spent a lot of time playing and improving it during my recent illness. However I still like to try other designs every now and then.
This one looks good and is now added to my collection.
I printed a few copies, although if it is good enough, I will probably laminate a copy and keep it with a dry erase marker.

I'm making this too, to take to Geekway to the West, which is in one week. Andrew is bringing some bits for me, which makes me very happy.

I printed everything out without scaling it down (the files are set up for A4 paper & I'm using US letter size)and nothing seems to have been cut off. I found a deck of cards with a Union Jack design to use as backers. Now I just have to go read the rules carefully to see if any cards besides the loyalty cards can have a different back because I don't QUITE have enough otherwise.

Taking a rest from cutting hexes for Oikodomos, I have started building yet another solo game.

Available from Wargame Vault, I purchased it yesterday, after listening to the 1 Player Podcast. It should be a relatively simple build consisting of a 6 piece board, 34 large counters, 20 Cards and a 9 page rulebook. The board and counters look quite large, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

The clinical description of the game here at BGG is what has put me off this game for so long. However reading the background information at the start of the rule book has really changed my perspective of this game.

I am looking forward to playing it!

Log In E-Scape
(Netrunner of Catan)
From gallery of Stormtower

By John Buenavides, Apr. 23, 2013

Preface:
All due respect and acknowledgment goes to Klaus Teuber, who designed the Settlers of Catan boardgame in 1995, and also to Richard Garfield, who designed the Netrunner collectible card game in 1996. This game design is intentionally a mash-up of those two games, combining mechanics from both games, along with other mechanics, to form a new and unique game. "Log In E-Scape" was entered into a game design contest in 2013 featuring mash-up games on BoardGameGeek.com using the required naming convention as "Netrunner of Catan."

Overview:
One player plays as the Corporation, and the other player(s) play as the Netrunner(s) (internet hacker). The Corporation seeks to achieve at least 5 points worth of Agendas; and the Netrunner(s) seeks to capture these Agendas before the Corporation
completes them. Alternatively, the Netrunner(s) can distract the Corporation long enough that it runs out of cards, and the Corporation would lose the game. The Corporation defends itself from the Netrunner(s) by using Intrusion Countermeasures
Electronics (ICE); many of which deal damage to the Netrunner. If the Netrunner suffers too much damage, the Netrunner is eliminated from the game.

I know I'm way behind on this whole print and play thing, but I've finally managed to get enough chunky dice from thrifting that I want to try my hand at making some Chunky Fighters. I ordered stickers for the base set off of Vista Print so they'd look nice and I got the cards off of Artscow.

This is my first attempt at P'n'P. By now i printed and cut the cards and sleeved them all nicely. The sleeves I used turned out to be too slippery for the task so that the stacks occasionally fall.

I still have to make the manual and a box.

Been sitting on the cards for this for quite some time (Todd's redesigned not-so-slim verson from Artscow), but I finally got hold of some laser cut hexes, so I finished the build.

I used the "ancient map" version for the tiles. Tokens and tiles were printed on full-sheet labels. Tiles were then applied to the individual 1" hexes (I scaled down for portability). Token sheets were applied to thick illustration board prior to being cut out.

Gold nuggets supplied by yellow gems, and tribes are marked by pieces from one of my many thrifted copies of Risk.

I made an express game umm..... expressier.

"Railways Express : Express"

From gallery of abodi

Essentially all you would need to do to play this is print out the map (A3 sized) make some custom dice, or you could use 4 regular dice (2 in 2 different colours) and 1 different coloured pencil or pen for each player.

Game plays the same as regular, except you draw your train lines, instead of laying down track. instead of taking cubes for reroll tokens, if you get one, you draw a square on the map and cross it out if used.

Design wise I tried to make the map as close as possible to the legit map but I'm sure I've stuffed it up somewhere and likely multiple times. I also wanted it to be printable without colour. Initially I drew the rivers, but I am never happy with how my rivers turn out. So I thought stuff it, I'm just going to use a symbol in any hex I believe to be a water hex, I got a watery type symbol from game-icons.net

I modified a mountain symbol form the same place, and then faded the water symbols alot (although it is hard to tell from the pictures of my monitor.

As I said earlier, I wanted it printable without colour, so the 4 different coloured cities just turned to different symbols, which are all white, so players can colour in their chosen cities if they want, then can.
