In the past few years I've become an avid fan of Age of Steam and I've picked up a decent collection of maps. I've also instituted a regular monthly game at my local shop.

I can use your help. I would like to know the best maps for any given number of players. Please list your favorite, or comment on it if it is already listed.

For each entry please include:

1. The individual map name (since many map packs include several maps)
2. The reason it is great with this number.
3. Any other helpful info such as whether it is good for beginners or meant for experts.

Feel free to discuss and disagree. I'll start it off with one of my favorite maps for 2 players.

The first time I ever went bankrupt in an AoS game was playing this map. We immediately set it up to play another game in which I fared much better. It's a tight map, as you might expect for 2, and the fight for real estate can be pretty brutal. But isn't that why we play?

One of the biggest issues with 2-player maps is that one player can dominate the player order auction if he gets ahead of the other player. Austria does away with that by having players alternate going first. I've only played it once, so I don't know if there's an issue with start player advantage from the first turn.

La Cosa Nostra acts as a brutish, but lazy third player, which only bids half its money in the action space auction, and takes no actions; however, it collects the players' bids for itself. Should the two players be too passive or indifferent to bid [enough], la Cosa Nostra resets its money to $10 for the next round; however, the two randomly moving Action space obstacles cause far more trouble than the mob. Being able to pay the mob to move an action marker seems it would be a nice improvement for this….

Edit: The picture here is Cuba. Sorry about that. I'll have to upload a photo of Sicily.
