Welcome to the EVER POPULAR Thrift Guild Generosity Logistics Box.

BOX is making its rounds; watch this list for people to report the Redistribution Plan in progress...

Your First Citizen is sponsoring yet another Chain of Generosity. We fortunate thrifters often find multiple copies of games that others just can't seem to find at all, so as a part of my Redistribution Plan for our Thrift Wealth and to assist in future prosperity, it's time to kick-off another Container. Here's your chance to assist your fellow citizens of the Thrift State.

This is limited to THRIFT GUILD members; you should be a member of the Guild AND have posted a thrifty find on one of the weekly lists within the last year.

The rules are pretty simple, but please pay attention, here's how it will work:

1) Folks will register on this list. Registration will close sometime on the morning of 8 June 2013. Once it closes to new entries, the list will turn into a reporting list (i.e. tell us what you hgot.

2) When you receive the box, simply take out 0 to all the games out of the box. Replace them with as many as you with, but there must be at least 2 games in the box. REPORT EVERYTHING YOU TAKE OUT REGARDLESS IF YOU INTEND TO KEEP IT OR NOT.

[b]There must be at least 2 games in the box that are complete and of a rating 5.4 or greater (note rating difference from the Container).
ANY games with a 0 for a rating or less than 3 ratings will be treated as 5.4. There can be more in the box and these can be incomplete. It would be a courtesy if posted a note in the game of what is present/missing if incomplete.

3) Post what you took out on THIS registration list (which will turn into a report your finds list). You must post to the list; if you took nothing out of the box, post that you took nothing and passed it along. At no time do you reveal any games that remain in the box, only what you removed.
Also post whether there is a duplicate of any game in the box - not what the duplicate is, but that there is a duplicate. You are allowed to call foul if there are less than 2 games that are below a 5.4 rating. This will serve as public humiliation to the last person to have the box... (I'm benevolent, but Redistribution requires honor!) These duplicates/fouls may also impact any contest I run.

4) Select a person to send to... You can select folks that are easier for you to ship to or by games you think they will enjoy based on what is in the box.

5) When you select the person, mark them off the list included in the box - ensure this list stays with the box as it goes around. I'll repeat: ensure this list stays with the box as it goes around. This is essentially be a list of the people with their addresses!

NOTE: The expectation here is that you will use a LARGE FLAT RATE USPS BOX (either the Boardgame Box or a standard Flat Rate Box) you are free to change the box to a Regional Box if that is useful for you to accomodate size without making it too expensive. Only Canadians with a US Postal Address can participate in this chain unfortunately.

Also the expectation is that there will be at least 2 complete games in the box with a rating of 5.4 or greater. There is often many more. It is expected that people will squeeze games inside other games as "if it fits it ships".

Proper participation is on your honor, but I believe we geeks can do this without State oversight.

I'll be starting us off and I'll be the end of the chain (i.e. I'll be on this list with the expectation I am last). When it gets back to me, the chain is complete.

When you register, please provide the following details:

+ your user name

+ your location: city, state, and zipcode (Canadians need to have a US address) ALSO, email me your full address, so I can add it to the list that will go in the box.

+ dates you know you will not be around for more than 4-5 days, that way people can avoid sending it to you as the next person in the chain when you aren't around to receive it

+ 4-5 games that you are currently enjoying (and a why you like them if you like),

+ 4-5 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want - the first game you are interested in should be the Geeklist entry item to catch people's attention,

+ 4-5 things you like in games (mechanics, themes, etc.)

These can be used to help guide people to select what they add into the box.

For this list, YOU MUST be a Thrift Guild member to participate. It isn't that hard to join the best community within BGG.

All games exchanged through the Generosity Lists are expected to be Thrift finds. (They are not required to be though.) This means they may have tape or writing on the boxes, box damage (dishing, split corners), and possibly copies of the rules. All game pieces (or at least nice SUITABLE replacements) will be present unless noted otherwise. At least 2 games will be a higher rating than 5.4 and be complete.

By joining this list, you 1) understand and agree to these rules and 2) promise you will ship any item to the person to be gifted within 3 standard work days to the best of your ability. All shipments are to be done in the cheapest method possible allowing for distance they may travel. Additionally, I would recommend, but will not demand that you use a delivery confirmation.

Thanks everyone and I'll be interested to see how many sign-up.

I usually have some form of contest, so standby and watch the list comments.

I'll be out of town the end of July/August for WBC, but my wife will be home, so there's really no 'unavailable' dates for me that I forsee.

There's no real thrifting grail games for me that I *haven't* found at this point, other than those that are rare and valuable (Fireball Island, King Oil, etc.). However, I have a voracious Heroscape appetite, and the only thing I have "enough" of is lava, FotA, and RotV figures.

I love tactical, low-luck, math heavy games of all weights (from Kingdoms through Neuroshima Hex! 3.0 to Age of Steam) and dexterity games of all sorts (Jungle Speed, Make 'n' Break, etc.). I especially am happy to find games that I can play with both my adult gaming group and my young (almost 6 and 11) daughters. Fortunately, games in both the above categories often fit this bill.

I also like puzzle games, but have a ton of those as well - Ubongo, Ubongo extreme, Winomino, Blokus, etc. I'd like to get upgraded versions of some games (Make n' Break Extreme, Katamino) or any Gigamics I don't have, but am honestly pretty well set for games right now. Oh, just thought of one - I still don't have any versions of Bohnanza, and would definitely like to get my hands on a copy! Nope, got that now too.

Having participated in this in the past, I can say that I will be happy simply to receive the box, and paw through the contents, regardless. If I wasn't expecting to be delightfully surprised no matter what, I don't think I'd do it this time. But the fun is in the playing.

Games I'm enjoying:
Hex - Abstract? Check. Connection? Check. Excellent game that we can get to the table when we do not have a lot of time.
Gunship: First Strike! - A game I Kickstarted and want to get to the table more. An excellent game all around.
A Game of Thrones: The Card Game - Read the books and watch the show. I like the LCG concept. A deep game that is fairly easy to learn and a blast to play.
Guillotine - Fun and quick game that we play with friends and our kids.
Cards Against Humanity - What can I say about this that you don't already know? Get a bunch of people together, add alcohol and shake.

Games I would like to see:
Tsuro - Tsuro looks beautiful and I think my wife would love it.
Ta Yü - My wife and I both enjoy abstract connection games. This would fit in with our copies of Twixt and Hex.
Gobblet - I have the Blue Orange Games version, but would like to expand my Gigamic collection.
Pylos - Another Gigamic I have seen on the list.
Ticket to Ride - A gateway I have never played. I am surprised how frequently it shows up on the weekly thrift lists.

Things you like in games:
Abstract
Zombies
Strategy

OK, just getting around to closing things off... Actually a little surprised this has less participants this time than the container.

Your First Citizen is humbled by the continued participation in my Redistribution Plan; the plan has borne out may things fun, and none as much fun as the Generosity boxes...

Your First Citizen watches over the Citizenry from 22044, VA, Falls Church. I often find myself in the Capital of Rosebud (see prior contest a year or two ago), but find myself needing to be near my family...

Since I am the last person to receive the box at the end, I am not worried about my first period away and am not really that worried about the second either.

I'm away with my son's troop for Summer Camp the week of July 4th (1-6 July). I also am expecting to do a summer vacation the last two weeks of August. After that, it's only a few 2-3 days away at the most.

I'm currently enjoying the following games:

Marrakech
El Grande
The Speicherstadt
Master Plan
Viticulture
Alien Frontiers
Bombay

These all are hits with my friends and family that I play with...

I would really like to obtain the following:

Monad (preferably the 3M Gamette version)
Thunder Road
Anything Heroscape.

I really enjoy sci-fi themes, worker placement, area control, area influence, medieval themes, and pretty much anything that my 11 year old boy might like.
