The Gnomad Gaming Group is a gaming group that I've been trying to "grow" for nearly a year. In the past attendance has between just me to around 20 total, but most often 2-3 plus myself. This month we had 3 new players attend along with myself and my wife.

Todd and Eric were the first to show up. And following the apparent Gnomad tradition, I introduce the new players to Carcassonne. Ane although many people suggest not using the expansions with new players, I am too lazy to seperate the tiles afterwards. So also used Carcassonne: Expansion 1 – Inns & Cathedrals and Carcassonne: Expansion 2 – Traders & Builders.

In a 3-player game Eric pulled out a sizable victory due to his 27-point city and 36 point farm...both of which I failed at stealing into.

While we were finishing up Carcassonne, Steve, an old high school friend of mine had shown up, as well as my wife, Amy. So we followed with a full game of Through the Desert.

Even though Steve and Todd had both made some sizable territories for a 5-player game, Amy pulled a win by around 15 points.

Since Eric had to go so we were down to 4 players we played a game that Todd had brought. We didn't play strictly by the rules, but since I won, it didn't matter. Everyone had a good time watching each other as their zombies just wouldn't walk straight, and mine falling over.

Todd and Amy had to leave aftrer All Wound Up. So there was a small break, but eventually Steve and I pulled out Fightball. I played as the Cavaliers and Steve was Team Sport. The scores by quarter were:

Cavs - TS
14 - 13
13 - 11
11 - 11
8 - 14
Final:
46 - 49

I would have been farther behind, but Steve's fouls kept me in the game.

Steve had decided to leave, but since a friend of ours was having a birthday party at the coffee house, Amy came back. Amy and I decided to play a game of LOTR: The Confrontation. Amy choose to play as the dark forces. Not long into the game I had lost 4 characters to Amy's 1. I had, however, managed to get Frodo into the middle of the board ready to run through Moria(Balrog was already on the other side of the mountains). I eventually was left with only Merry and Frodo. Merry defeated the Witch King, whom Aragorn had found previously leaving only one dark character(The Flying Nazgul) in Mordor, who would not be able to stop Frodo. Amy made a couple of mistakes that I believe cost her the game. She was very close to having 3 characters in The Shire and I had no way to stop them had she played things just a little different.
