These are the other side of my (tarot-sized, Inkscape-drawn, PrinterStudio-printed) Caravaneers cards. For now, we're using Looney Pyramids since I haven't found suitable checkers or discs yet.

Along with the game cards I sent to PrinterStudio, I filled out the order with some player aids I made up. I'll try to add them all to this item (through the magic of editing) so as to not clutter the list too much.

First, a scoring reference for Tally Ho!:
From gallery of mikelietz

It does not include movement (I considered putting that on the other side) but since my daughter seems to remember that just fine I left it out. This helped her count things up at the end of the game (as well as knowing how many hunters she still had to find and eat).

Next, a deed card summary for Monopoly:
From gallery of mikelietz

I always seem to have something going on when I'm playing Monopoly with my daughter, and getting to the right deeds for rent (or checking hers) isn't always so handy. The off-center layout was intentional (but not particularly good looking), and some of the colors, done from memory, are off. But it'll do. After all, it's just Monopoly...

Fomorion War

New game from Todd Sanders

The version 1.0 rules and cards for The Fomorian War are up on his server

http://aanpress.com/game/fomorian_war/

6 pages of rules, 6 pages 2-side (12 total) pages of cards - a pretty simple build.

Keep updated of progress at Re: Todd Sanders: Current Projects until there is a game page, I expect some updates to the files.

I finished my copy of the PNP version of this game and have played once with my son. Quite a game and the artwork is excellent. I recommend it highly and if you are interested in being involved in the Kickstarter campaign, head on over:

I've played the heck out of my PnP copy of Barbarian Prince, so I figured I had to do this one, as well.

Finished up the build last Friday, and will have the books bound tonight. I ended up building the remake from

I've been on a block-wargaming kick lately, so here's my build of 1066: The Year of the Comet.

From gallery of Zimzerveran

Block labels are photo paper mounted to self-adhesive sheets.

The blocks I ordered from Columbia Games. I tried to make my own... but that didn't go so well!

The map is matte photo paper mounted on 110 lb. card stock (as is the battle board). I split the map into nine pieces. I then taped three pieces together so they fold up nicely and stay in place. When all three "bundles" are folded up, they're quite compact. This was the second map I attempted. The first is above the card stock map and is a series of nine foamcore tiles... which won't fit in the box! Hence, the newer card stock map.

The player aids are laminated card stock.

Finally, the box is from Columbia Games and has some appropriate artwork I blatantly stole from the internet and modified.

10GG to the first person who can identify the error on the box!

Finally finished enough cards to print this at the PrinterStudio large card size... which now seems maybe a bit big (with two rows of seven cards each, the game is two feet wide).

The card quality came out fantastic, and while I can see some things that need to be adjusted in the art, I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out.

Since this photo looks terrible, I will post more soon.

Printed this on six large-size PrinterStudio cards, big enough that I can play with medium-sized Looney Pyramids for the time being.

Played this with my daughter. One advantage of the modular board was that we could knock out a couple stories to speed up gameplay, and doing so was at my peril, as she trounced me 54 to 15.

Better photos still forthcoming.

I just finished making this one which was a seriously easy go as it's only 54 cards. This was an odd one for me as the graphic design at best is fugly & I usually go for nicer art projects. When I heard about this PnP kickstarter reward I had to check it out but whoah I almost left the page without giving this another look. I was intrigued enough to check out the gameplay video though & that won me over. The pdf's didn't include any backs so I thought I'd experiment a bit. I printed the cards up on full-sheet label paper, cut, & stuck 'em on some cheapo playing cards, then laminated the fronts with wide cello tape. I laminated them after sticking to the card so the tape would cover the edge of the stickers so the edges wouldn't get caught. That was the whole build other than printing the rules. The card programing mechanic is what got me as Roborally is one of our favorite games. If this turns out to be a fave of ours I might think of making some new cards even with just a solid color, I don't care, the graphics are just that ugly.

A free print and play game by Nick Hayes. I've played it and I liked it. Components are minimal and I think the game is great. I like the tension built when the game is taking shape because of the gremlin deck. It's a clever mechanic and put everyone on the edge of their seats. Cool game. I like the fact that it's playable with 5 players.

WHAT: No Good Gremlins
TOOLS: Cutting tools, printer
MATERIALS: A4 cardstock for cards, 65mmx90mm sleeves
DIFFICULTY: EASY. Printing double sided works. Game components are just cards, nothing else.
EXTRA COMPONENTS NEEDED?: No. However, you can pimp your game by replacing the wandering gremlin with a plastic figure. No first player marker is needed.
STATUS: Completed!

A friend of mine made the retheme version of this long out of print game. But only until recently, franjos Spieleverlag announced that they're going to reprint the game, this time with a new title and now playable up to 4 players.

WHAT: Kupferkessel Co. retheme, Monster Madness & More - a PnP retheme
TOOLS: Cutting tools, printer
MATERIALS: A4 cardstock for cards, 70mmx70mm sleeves, 65mmx90mm sleeves size
DIFFICULTY: EASY. Components are just card. Print cards on separate sheet of paper, not front and back as they're not aligned.
EXTRA COMPONENTS?: Two player pawns in different colours.
STATUS: Completed!

I was on a trip on end of May until mid June, and brought the rulebook along for a casual reading. It's my first time reading SPI manual and I immediately needed pen and notebook after the 2nd page. Unfortunately, page 14 was missing from my manual and so I had to stop reading as it seems page 14 has some crucial part of the gameplay. I have yet to play the game.

WHAT: Time Tripper using Todd Sanders redesigned artworks.
TOOLS: Cutting tools, printer, cutting mat
MATERIALS: A4 paper for printing, mounting boards
DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM. All tokens are double sided, therefore good method/technique of aligning front and back is needed
EXTRA BITS?: YES. Some eurocubes are needed for tracking, as well as to mark the player pawn. If playing with more than one player, different coloured cubes/pawns are needed
STATUS: Completed!

I've recently played TtA for the first time after owning the game for years. My friend who taught me the game brought his own copy for the session. When I compared his game components with mine, it turned out that my copy was the 2nd edition, which comes with small player boards. I borrowed his player boards when we finished playing the game, since I liked it, so that I can scan and make my own.

WHAT: Player boards that come in the 3rd edition of TtA. My scanned files are here, available in pdf and jpegs. Through the Ages scanned player boards
TOOLS: Cutting tools, printer.
MATERIALS: A4 paper for printing, mounting board.
DIFFICULTY: EASY. Just the player boards and nothing else
EXTRA BITS NEEDED?: NO

I finally got around to making Decktet. The primary motivation was so I could play Dectana when my Looney Pyramids arrive.

From gallery of Zimzerveran

The card fronts and backs are linen cover stock glued together and lightly coated with a spray varnish. I stuck them in some sleeves to keep them from getting mangled and make them easier to shuffle.

The card back I snagged from http://patterns.ava7.com/.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with the result!

Completed the PnP files, cards and counters, not a hard build. Interesting game.

I was intrigued by the art and allusive language in this game, so I chose this for my first try at making cards.

I finally broke down and bought some card sleeves after trying to align fronts and backs, glue sheets together, etc. After that, it was just a couple of hours work. The results seem pretty good; just have to give it a try.

I've also just made a tuckbox to hold the cards; a couple of extra card backs will serve as labels.
