I taught Patrick the game and he played as the corp, playing an NBN with fast advance and tagging. I played a Kate deck with replicating hardware and utilizing Darwin as a primary icebreaker.

I was able to get an agenda first turn off of R&D for 3 points. Then I built my rig and he set up some remote servers. I ran and scored 2 points then ran on another and hit a junebug but I had enough cards in hand to be safe. He was able to score 1 and then I finished it off with a run on another remote breaking a flare with a souped up Darwin.

Brian and I played later in the night. I was NBN and he was Andromeda. I was at 3 points and he was at 3 points before he had to leave. I was probably going to win with my setup but it was looking like I was never going to get any agenda points from my draws. We looked at my deck and there were 6 agendas in the bottom 10 cards!

Daryl, Patrick, Michael, and I played this with the expansion. Daryl was shipping with a Wharf and a Harbor. I had a bunch of buildings. Patrick was shipping and using his small and large market for money. Michael was sacrificing a ton of points with his black market.

Daryl 59
Cates 45
Patrick 39
Michael 25

5 players. Tony was rolling 11 dice with no modifiers at the end but it wasn't enough to overcome Daryl's incredible 9 of a kind.

This is 6 Nimmit reskinned (pun intended because of the zombies).

6 players just one round. Tony and Stewart seem to be taking the most cards. We were playing the version where you try to take cards. I can't remember who won between the two of them. The hero cards add just enough twist.

Steve S. and Tony B. two player card driven, try to move through 7 locations, the closer you get to winning the harder it gets - I think we stalled out at the fourth location - we ran out of time and the helicopter left without us. Even without being rescued we fought on for the next three years until we became over powered by the hoard.

I accomplished a rare feat in this game. I placed every single unit I had on the board. I was playing my son so he did some strange things like not attack me and not rush out explorers. He built dragons and lava leapers which I quickly killed with no support. I also pulled off the rare feat of accomplishing the "Death from above" secret mission goal. It's sending at least 2 dragons (I sent all 3) from the monolith to an opponents 3 resource home base and win a battle there.

Now I need to get the microbadge for beating children mercilessly.

To be fair though, I didn't shut him out like I did Steve G. in Fresno. devil

Although we didn't play this game we had several show up to paint, Bill who uses a base coat dark and dry brushes textures and shading. Steve C. who went the direction of Bill and had his first paint job on a miniature come out fantastic, Steve brought his boy to paint and he tackled a spider, mimic, I think he also painted a treasure chest and I gave him a mummy and the mummies coffin. I, like normal rely on the dip to add the shading and mass painted the base flesh color of the second layer of zombies in Zombicide. Bill painted a couple of military pieces and a couple of the blotted zombies from Zombicide. Steve painted what looked like a werewolf (I know it wasn't but I don't recall the name of it)

If there's enough interest I'll do a second session next week Sat the 10th maybe I can get the zombies finished for a first play.

I know there's a lot of you that's started some projects now a great time to sit around and have some fun with others.

Bill and I next tried this one, place your grid face down and draw five cards you then take turns playing cards to find the opponents ships once found the ships give a special power while in play and there's also some power cards that can be played.
I struck first and Bill used a shield to protect his exposed ship, it didn't take long for me to make quick work of Bill.

One more to finish off the night Bill and Tony playing a two player game - This was Bill's first play learning the game.
This was the nicest game I've ever played, very high scoring, it did give me the chance to see a couple of power cards, that if I see them, I will do a forced sale even if it puts me in a bad position.

I think I won by 20 points - we were both able to score some high ranking cards 9/10/11 pointers

2013 launch from AEG soon to be released. I was able to get together with Steve S to give this a run through. An updated version of the popular deck building games, this one incorporates a board that allows additional victory points and interaction.

You are constructing rails by means of card play, giving options such as build rail, build station, playing fancy trains gaining victory points and using the money they provide to increase your decks possibilities. Watch out though when building you’re also creating waste that clogs up your deck. The only way to dispose of the waste is to skip your turn and return all waste in your hand or if in play there are cards that allow you to make good of the waste you create, we were not that lucky enough to have that card in play.

I had a chance to end the game but I was greedy and set myself into a spiral as Steve was creating the perfect end game blow out.

Very Tight game, I don’t think the game is at its best at two players, it does has some great advances in the deck building area with the board.
A must to play to its max, four players as this will cause a lot of competition where as two players had the run of the board.

I’d also like to see victory points incorporated in the rails placed to drive that portion of the game.
Maybe for difficult terrain if you build in 3 areas it’s additional victory points or every three is worth one or most on the board is 5 second is 3 and third is 1.
Also the cost to build in prime areas should cost more.

New version for 2013 from AEG played this with Steve two player. This version has a little twist - the names of the cards are different and some of the powers are different - also it comes with three versions of the princess you select which one you want to play with. Regular, nerdy or prince.

Fun game.

We played two games of Trains last night at Game Qore the 1st CB, Michael and Tony.

There were some sweet combo's that came up, there was one card that was in the game the first time I played and I could see the huge benefit in having as many as possible. CB also saw the advantage of another card and pointed out how well the two would work with each other. Thanks to CB’s keen eye I was able to score points almost every round skyrocketing me into the lead.
Final Score
Tony 81
CB 42
Michael 40

The second game was a four player Brian, CB, Michael and Tony
This time there were no extra victory points to be scored and we had to relay on the building up our decks and building out our rail network - I knew I was falling behind and towards the end I had a stellar combo that allowed me to grow my network into some prime scoring areas.
At the end Michael ended the game by running out the fourth group of cards
Tony won by 1 point
Brian 2nd
CB
Michael

Three players and a first for Michael, we played the Kanai Factory Limited Edition version.
Three players CB, Tony and Michael, the very first round I think on my turn I have the 7 value and the card to compare hands, I played the card to compare lowest number out. Because it was Michaels first time playing I didn’t want to take him out of the round before he even had a turn, CB lost and that left Michael and myself. I hung onto the 7 card that’s a passive that if your hand size is ever 12 or above you’re out. The very next draw I was out for exceeding the 12 point hand size.
Michael received his first or many pieces of candy.
Michael first
CB and Tony lost

We played with 6 players max play for Maximum Throwdown, It was Tony, CB, Ross, Darryl, R, and Bill
No one could make a throw...........oh wait that’s not correct, I was able to make my first and second no problem and as soon as I made my throws on the bases it extended to play area, and everyone started in on my covering up my points and extra abilities. It was a fun filler a lot of smiles, but this game has a nitch and not everyone will gravitate to this style of play / it reminded me of the old westerns when you see the cowboys tossing cards in a hat and then everyone at school thinks they can toss cards and everyone’s doing it to try and look cool................ok, maybe that was just my school (everyone saw the same movie).
Even though a couple of people said they didn’t care for the game (Style of play) they still seemed to enjoy it.

three players Brian, Tony and Steve as we played we questioned some of the rules and found a few more slight veriation changes that weren't notices before.
Brian was saying that if there's a tie who ever has the most in points played gets the piece of candy in the limited edition both tied players get a piece of candy.
Steve S. knocked himself out on one round before he could even do anything by having the 7 card with anther one that took him to 12 or above.
the same happened to me.
Brian was chasing a lot of cards as he would try and call one (that I didn't have ) the very next draw I would get the card called - Maybe he's physic.

I was able to pull in the win

This game just turned a corner.
Three players Steve S, Brian and Myself.(Tony)
Steve blew me away, Steve took advantage of Brian and my self’s lack of focus. While we were building up our decks Steve placed his rails in a mad dash to end the game.
Just as my deck was developing and I had started to focus on the board, out of the blue Steve says that’s it lets figure out the final score.
Steve had run the board and placed all of his rails before either Brian or I could build a good deck.
Steve had a decent score and a lean deck with a few dump sites he was able to school us.
The many dimensions of Trains a deck building game that incorporates a board by AEG

Played this trick taking game with Mark and Steve D.

The game does some strange things with given player powers and scoring.

In this three player only game you want to not be over 100 points but higher or lower than the other two players. If one player is over 100, the other two get a VP. If all three players are under 100, the highest and the lowest score a VP. If you take all the tricks, you can score 2 VP however.

I had the ability to bid how many tricks I would get for a reward of 2 VP. Mark had the ability to cancel a play once per game. And Steve D. got to ask a Yes or No question before each game to which we had to answer truthfully.

I was able to get the right amount of tricks that I predicted on the final round and for the win broke 7 VP.

I taught Ben how to play this one.

I was running the infinite combo Leia deck. I haven't been able to get the combo yet. I was close with 2 of the three cards in hand but I couldn't seem to get the 3rd with the cards just sitting in my hand. Ben was able to pump the dial to 12 for the win as Scum and Villainy.
