A couple months ago I bought my first house. Planning for the games and a new gameroom was considered from the start. Thankfully my wife was supportive of this (sort of). We were hoping for a guest room and a bonus room to use for the games. Those were out of the budget so we were forced to combine the two and the results came out great. It's not completly finished, but it's close.

The room is 400 square feet, with a closet and a bathroom. It has good natural light in the daytime.

While moving in I had to put the games somewhere. This proved very diffucult as I had to move them all when it came time to set the shelves up.

PS- I own good games but they are hiding in this pic

Time to move the shelves in. I wanted to replace all the shelves I owned but this proved too expensive. Most of my old shelves were mismatched thrift store products. I got rid of all of those. The left wall is the Plano wall.

For the right wall I bought these from Target. I considered Ikea, but it's much more expensive and a very long drive.

I built one of these a night for 5 days and my wife built the other. I thought it was never going to be finished. Here they are installed.

These are the 2 shelves I kept. This is the entrance cove, for RPG's and Card games.

Now begins the lengthy process of arranging games by some form that looks good and makes sense. I sort of did that.

The Right wall. The good games

The Left wall. Party and Thrift store games. Still a lot of good ones.

The Card games

The table has been moved and some gaming collages hung on the wall. I have a Thror's Map waiting to be framed for that empty spot on the wall.

RPGs and Card games

Remember I said it was a guest room as well. Here is the fold out couch.

The wall across from the couch currently has the fold up treadmill. I plan on purchasing a 60 inch TV soon and moving all the video games in here as well.

Finally the closet.

Prototypes, game bits, CCG's and larger games.

Next up is to buy some more chairs and get some gaming in. The room will comfortably hold 2 6 foot fold up tables and probaly 8-10 people.

I also have it wired with speakers on the shelves controlled by a stero in the closet for background music.

First game played in the new room? Tier auf Tier with my daughter.

Thanks for reading. Any suggestions?
