School's starting, GenCon is over, summer is winding down - much to be sad (or glad) about.
But the games must go on! Another great day of fun at Hallmark Sports Arena, as the NWIBGA and their friends (& families) gathered for a nice long day of dice chucking, card flipping, rubber ducky bonking, stalking, building, conniving, backstabbing, slingshotting, wondering, flicking, kicking, escaping, bomb building, swimming, farming, keepin' on flying, exploring, settling, surviving, guilding, track laying, mousing, negotiating, civilizing, smashing up, and bang-bang-banging.
Great crowd all day: Attendance = 43 A new NWIBGA Record! Alot of new games from GenCon debuted and some old classics, plus everything in between, including another installment of our epic Giant Soccer PitchCar on the soccer field!
Thanks for coming out (if you didn't, sorry we missed you)! Two more All-Day events coming up: Sat Sept 14 2013 = Storytelling Game Day! Sat Oct 19 2013 (date may change to 26th) = Extra Life 25-hour Charity Game-a-thon

The new board gets a good workout with approx 16 actual scored games plus a dozen or more casual plays throughout the entire day! Apparently, we have a new hit! Already talking about a Monday Night League and Tournaments in future.
Some of the recorded/scored games:
ROB T def. Steve H 100-80 ROB T & STEVE H def. Decatur/Demitri 100-0 GREG/ROB813 def. CJ/Kris 100-10 SCOTT def. Jesse 105-0 (Jesse was learning) BECKY/KRIS def. Demitri/Josh M 100-80 JESSE def. Brian M 100-80 BRIAN M/ROB813 def. Kris/Jesse 100-0, 100-0, 100-0 STOSH def. Rick Z 100-10, 100-35, 100-65 RICK Z def. Stosh 100-55, 100-10
Many others played for fun or to learn.
I'd like to form a Monday Night League. I'll start another list for that shortly, you'll be able to sign up there. It'll be free and i'll use HSC2 Schedule/Standings system, so it'll be "official". Singles, maybe Teams (tho I may reserve Teams for a tourney format).

My new space-race game got 2 plays. Seemed well received by all.
I like the "physics" mechanics and the pre-round card draft element. Unique movement rules make the simple race very unpredictable and unique. Even developed a bluffing/psychology aspect, trying to guess what your opponent was likely to do. Good fun.
JON Q (Blue) arrived just a split-second before me, so he wins the tie* SCOTT (yellow) - almost... Josh M (black) T.J. (red)
*ironic, since he trailed most of game, even going wrong direction more than anyone! ----------------------------------------------
Another race was held later, tho no Report was turned in... >

I finally took the plunge and invested in this fun little racing game.
Be the 1st to tag the 3 buoys and get to the bathtub drain. Be careful of bonking too much and the ever troublesome Bird Dog! This is a really fun one, you have to try it! lol
[b]3 - JEFF O (Sheepdog Ducky) 2 - Decatur (Martian Manhunter Ducky) 2 - Jesse (Safari Ducky) 2 - Josh M (Red Shirt Ducky) 1 - Scott (Soccer Ducky)
Note: we decided to try it 5P, stealing the Dog Duck for Jeff. And he WON...

Finally, the Baker Street Irregulars* sit down to challenge the great crime-solving mind of Sherlock Holmes vs Case #1 (a few of us have this game, just took until now for it to hit table).
(I ask the participants to beware of any !Spoilers! if commenting here)
They beat Homles' score with a 110!

Giant (Soccer) PitchCar strikes again! Most took a pause in their boardgames to run down to the soccer field for some exercise and tactical kicking!
Our biggest single race yet, with 16 racers knocking their soccer balls around the cone-edged track. Scoring on a small pop-up goal was problematic for most of the pack, but was the key to success for the leaders. Most had no trouble scoring on the big goal (tho the Garbage Can did make at least one save that day). The long staraightaway against the far wall leading to the Table Hairpin Turn was the undoing of many a driver (including me...)
Michael P pulled off an amazing feat! He started in the back row, very LAST position, yet managed to WIN the race! I'll add everyone's start position, just for fun.
1st - MICHAEL P (14/14, Row 5) 2nd - Mike McR (6/14, Row 2) 3rd - Jeff O (5/14, Row 2) 4th - Scott (10/14, Row 4) 5th - Steve H (1/14, Row 1) 6th - Becky W (4/14, Row 2) 7th - Rufus (11/14, Row 4) 8th - Jason W (12/14, Row 4) 9th - Mary B (3/14, Row 1) 10th- Jon Q (2/14, Row 1) 11th - John P (7/14, Row 3) 12th - Kooper (13/14, Row 5)
