This Geeklist serves to suggest and select the game(s) we are going to play on the boardwargame day at Sunday September 15 from 11.00h onwards.

The criteria for suggesting and selecting a game are:
- 'War' has to be an important element in the game(s);
- The chosen game(s) together must be playable by at least eight people;
- The game has to fit on the average gaming table;
- Players must be able to find the rules for the game online or the player who has suggested the game is willing to provide his fellow players with the rules by other means;
- Players will study the rules before the start of the gaming event;
- Everyone may suggest one game;
- Everyone may vote for one game. You vote by leaving a comment with the game you want to play;
- You cannot vote for your own suggestion. This does not mean you won't be able to play the game you suggested when it 'makes the cut';
- Only people who join the gaming event may suggest games and vote.

The important 'deadlines':
- Friday August 30: last chance to suggest a game.
- Tuesday September 3: last chance to vote.
- Saturday September 7: Rules in possession of all players

Up to 6 players can have fun burning each others at stakes (well actually, only Protestants get burned. Any around here?), unleashing terrible diseases on each others armies, killing those armies outright in battles (of course, it's a wargame!), breaking alliances and promises, etc. All in all, a child friendly game for 2-6 players. I use it to teach my daughter some important life lessons... devil

I would be equally happy to play Virgin Queen, but in my experience that game plays a bit slower then Here I Stand.

I would like to play HIS as well, but as that is only fun with 6 players I'll volunteer for a 2-player game

I'd like to try one of the intermediate or advanced scenarios. "A Bridge Too Far", maybe? Not sure if it's playable in one afternoon, but it seems fun anyway...
And none of those exhausting intrigues, deceases or boring life lessons... Just a couple of dudes taking a stroll/cruising through the beautiful Dutch countryside on a cloudy Sunday afternoon in September (not sure it's a wargame...?)
