We lost. We all died of thirst at the same time. We were in the "end game", but the sun was just too much for us.

Another play of Santorini with Jered, Luke, and Max

I made several changes to this version, notably introducing $ into the game, changing the gold resource to cloth, allowing buying of goods, and allowing players to spend $ on additional favor tokens.

Overall, despite being a major rehaul of the game, the game flowed pretty well. There were a few buildings that were obviously underpowered, which will be removed, but all the other building felt like they had a place in the game.

The thing I'll be experimenting with for the next prototype is changing how the transportation rules work. Transportation of goods is an important mechanic in Santorini, as it allows you to see what the other players can do and play accordingly, and provides a time cost to using goods. But the current mechanic is the most confusing to explain, and is non-intuitive. Working on a new, simpler way of transporting goods and defining the road network.

Luke, Mike, Jared.

Liked it a bit better than previous play. Still not too found of the blur of constant bits of points from anything and everything you do; makes it especially hard to tell what you're doing right or wrong. It's potentially an interesting valuation challenge, but I am not fond of the execution for such. I also feel that this is a very AP-heavy game due to the design - you need to plan ahead constantly, and you probably need to have most of your final 10 actions all planned out to avoid screwing yourself.

The overall flow and feel of the game is nice, though. You're regularly beset by tough decisions and neat stuff happens throughout.
