Games Played at Bay Area Games Day CVIII 2013-09-07

Good crowd this week. Fueled in part by several members conducting mini-auctions of games they wanted to clear out, some very good titles actually.
We also had Wei-Hwa Huang, one of the designers, conducting blind play tests of Roll for the Galaxy, a dice game with clear similarities to Race for the Galaxy. The game is very near release so the focus was on validating that players could learn the rules effectively from the presented ruleset with no guidance from the designer. Lots of excitement all day.
Bay Area Games Day is the largest and longest-running regular event for open gaming in the San Francisco Bay Area. We meet every 4-8 weeks at the Los Altos Public Library, 13 S. San Antonio Rd., Los Altos, about 15 miles west (north?) of San Jose.
Further information about the group and the related Silicon Valley Boardgamers available at our Yahoo group: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/gamesday
We are meeting again on Saturday, October 5, and Saturday, November 2. Here is what we played this week.
