As you may have seen on the front-page recently, Conquistador Games have been running a kickstarter for metal coins. Really nice looking ones!
Some samples from the Greek set:

Anyway, 13 different sets of coins have been unlocked for our pleasure purchases (1 set / $10'000 pledged up to $120'000). At a minimum, the set will include 20 tiny coins, 15 small, 10 medium, 5 large and 1 jumbo coin. By pledging more than $120'000 in total, Conquistador have promised that the sets will grow, but not by how much yet. The sets are as follows:

1. Greek
2. Roman
3. Middle Ages
4. Viking
5. Mythological Creatures I
6. Celtic
7. Mythological Creatures II
8. Ancient Egypt
9. Renaissance
10. Pirate
11. New Dubloons
12. Pieces of Eight
13. Dragons!

So my question is: How many sets did you pledge for, and what games are you going to use them in?

Well, I signed up for 10 sets - I'll probably get one set of everything except the Pirate/Dubloons/PoE sets.
Vikings for the Viking set for sure.
Small World is just screaming out for these coins, but I'm not sure which ones yet. Maybe the Dragons?
7 Ages could use all of them!
7 Wonders Egypt/Greek/Roman?

Even though I'm in for 10 sets of these beauties , I don't have many games that use money so I don't have much the coins can be used for.

Catacombs would be good although it rarely gets played in my group. I would however love to see a Train set in the next Kickstarter which I could use in Railways of the World

My favorite set of medieval miniatures rules. In the game, each unit has a value in "ecus", a medieval coin. When your army loses 25% and 50% of its initial ecu value, you have to perform panic checks. I'll probably use the medieval set to track losses.

To go along with blinged out treasure chests, you must have pirate coins! This is begging for an upgrade over the standard cardboard coins.

The Renaissance Set I bought will look good in this, my current favourite game (IMO the best of 2010).

In Wizard Kings, your captured cities generate gold, but you may have to transport it elsewhere to build new units. It seems like a good use for the fantasy/mythological coins.
