Ok, so here's what I want you to do:
1) Go to your "my geek" page to determine the number of games you currently own (unless this is something you just know off hand i.e. you don't have enough games).
2) Head on over to www.random.org
3) In the true random number generator, enter the number "1" as the minimum value. Next, enter the number "n" as the maximum value where "n" is the number of games you own.
4) Once a random number has been chosen, find the game in your collection that matches that number and post it here along with anything about the game you'd like to share. Perhaps it's a game you haven't played yet...that's ok. Post that you haven't played it yet.
5) If there's some reason why that number corresponds to something you don't want to post about, give it one more shot, but let's try to avoid that if we can.

Now look. I'm wanting front page geek list here. I've made a couple of geek lists that have done well, but I want award winner. I want massive thumbs (that sounds off, but you understand what I mean). I want tons of responses. I want your lives to change because of the sheer joy this geek list brings. Or something along those lines. I'll start it off with...

#26 of 81 is Dominare. I lucked out here because this is a game I REALLY like, and had been afraid to try. It just seemed so complicated based upon the rule book. However, as I own all of the Tempest line, I was feeling the pressure to get them played. Love Letter was dead simple (but lots of fun), Courtier was also quite easy to pick up (also fun), but this and Mercante were intimidating to me. I figured GenCon to the rescue! I signed up to play Courtier (just because...I had already played it), Mercante, and Dominare with an AEG agent to help teach it. The first game was Mercante, and it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it, but was very glad to have a teacher as there were a lot of moving parts. Next day came Dominare. I had my session scheduled, but my girlfriend wanted to check out the dealer hall with me. I hated to miss the session, but my girlfriend is very cute. In the end, it wasn't a difficult decision. When I got home though, Dominare stared out at me from my game shelves like a jilted lover. I tentatively opened the box again and re-read the rule book for probably the fourth time. Somehow, it didn't seem quite so daunting. I was able to get in a two-player game with my 11-year-old son who promptly smoked me at the game. He more than tripled my score. I sucked, but man did I like it. After more plays, my opinion has only gotten more positive.

Kind of anti-climactic when i counted out to it, but, it has been a trooper. Originally purchased just for the rack's at a thrift store, I've found that it is taken out almost every game night to fill short 5-15 minute gaps when small groups are out of sync and looking to swap for the next game.

Cute little game that's one of my wife's perennial favourites.

*Sigh*. Was hoping for a cool wargame here, instead I got something my *wife* likes...

But it *is* cute - and it's by the guy who designed Small World.

One of the few games in my collection I haven't played. I bought it thinking it would serve as an interesting area control game, but I bought Dominant Species about the same time and poor EVO has never gotten a chance. I think the bidding mechanic for genes looks neat, hoping to get it to the table in the next few months.

As fate would have it the game I landed upon was one of my favorites. I have more plays of this game than any other. It is my go to game for non-gamers and I suspect it will reside in my collection and continue to be played for as long as I am alive.

tidbits:
My number was 60 out of 99 (and yes I knew exactly how many games I had without looking) and my list was sorted alphabetically.

Very cool idea for the GeekList, good luck with getting massive amounts of thumbs.

Random.org gave me number 61 from my 63 owned games+expansions.

And it goes to Tortuga. What I love about this game is art. I am a fan of any kinds of turtles and actually has one of them home as pet. So when my countries only board game publisher made a localized coy it was no brainer for me - I had to get it. Game has exceptional productional quality. The fabric board and wooden turtles all are very well made and look great on the table.
Abstract is not the most popular genre in our gaming group and we usually don't play abstracts. But time after time this great looking gem is put on the table to have some aesthetical enjoyment combined with some checkers like tactics.

Nice abstract, that we played most before I started logging plays on BGG. So it probably is one of our earlier purchases.

This is a great game for my husband, virtually no luck after setup (except for the tile draws), so I usually lose this one . I've mostly played 2p, though it does scale well because of the modular board. It has silly Knizia scoring (of course, it's a Knizia ).

Oh, forgot: nr 339 of 434 games (including expansions).

#1 of 15.

For Christmas I requested “Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small” and my wife decided instead to go for the full game of Agricola. This was certainly based on a regret she feels from not having the ‘full’ Carcassonne, but rather the 2-player only Castle version. Mind that we have never played the ‘full’ Carc, and the draw is that it simply includes more players and she has wanted to share it with other players.

The logic behind the choice of a two-player version is its length and less complexity, me picturing a 30-minute game about animal management being just the right weeknight game for us. A hunt that continues.

I was certainly surprised with her purchase of the full game as she had no idea what she was getting into. She is fine with the complexity, she hates the length of time it takes, and the stress.

Still, we have played together 8 times, her winning 3 of the last 4 games.

526 of 554. I bought this game because I like supporting fellow designers on thegamecrafter.com. It plays ok for 3-4 players, but doesn't play well for 2 players. We played it maybe twice when I got it and haven't looked at it since.

I do like the color mechanic, where you combine red, yellow, and blue translucent chips to make orange, green, and purple...

#97 out of #172 (i included expansions). It's hilarious that I got this one. Mage wars is my new favorite game this year. This expansion is great. The warlord is my mage of choice right now. I don't' think he's near the best but very fun.

This is a great game but it takes a good bit of time to get into it and learn the ins and out and the terminology. It is also primarily a two player games. So it requires two dedicated players.

I have rarely had this much fun with a game.

So close... to several of my favorite, most-played games... and what do I come up with? This thing on my for trade list, which I rated a 5.
Now the odd thing is: I am not entirely sure that I still own it at all. I marked it as both for trade and previously owned. I cannot remember giving it away, but I might have owned it twice indeed. I will go up to the attic later and check. If I no longer own it, I will draw a new winner.

Since I don't keep my collection on BGG, I just ordered them via my spreadsheet. As a result, a high number corresponds to a game I haven't played in 2013.

But - I still might. It's been some time since I played this with anyone other than a couple of old friends in Ohio, and I suspect my next play of the game will also be with them. Which likely means there's a good chance it will take place 11/29.

There aren't many games I could reasonably predict the date for my next play - and even fewer if the date isn't within the next week...

42 of 77.

1 As a fan of HHG the number 42 is fun.
2 Being that I am a cost-accountant for an international company is fun.
3 Game is a light quick filler with some interesting biding/set collection mechanics. Simultaneous bidding. The scoring is a bit complicated for what it is. But some people really enjoy it. I prefer For Sale over this for the same situations, but I still play this once in a while.

#157 of 290. I have not played this game in a long time (2008). But I still like it, and am glad to own it. It is an interesting game where you (and possibly a partner) campaign across the country against the other player/team.

You can have big confrontations, or choose to "fight 'em where they ain't". The game plays relatively quickly, and has a nice amount of drama at the end. Along the way you can have debates, advertising and "campaign events".

A good one!

I enjoy dexterity games in general, and this is a good one, since it combines stacking & speed, both things I find fun. It also works well with kids & non-gamers, as it's pretty obvious how to play.

I played this game a crazy amount growing up. Great for an expanding math mind, as one can begin simply with + and - and move on to x and / (and squares, cubes, etc.) when ready. Taught some tactics and strategy as well. I'm surprised this isn't more popular. I've even played it with children in my class as a paper and pencil game, but it's nicer to actually use the rings.

Gameplay is basically roll 3 dice and use the numbers shown or any number(s) you can create to begin blocking off pegs on your board, numbered 1-18. If you roll a 1, 2 and 3 you could block off the 1, 2, and 3, or you could block off the 1 and 5 (1 and 2+3), or the 6 (1+2+3), or the 6 and 1 (2x3 and 1) or 7. The first player to block off all 1-18 wins! Once started, you must block off adjacent numbers, and you can also use redundant numbers (e.g. if you already have 13) to put one of your rings on your opponent's section (e.g. 13). They will then need to get 13 twice - once to remove yours (and return your ring) and once to claim it themselves. I loved the blocking!

My copy in Canada was called Number Rings.

Edited to add: 59 of 80, I think it was.

I rate Belfort an -8.75-

I really enjoy this game. It's a 3-5* player game where area control is combined with worker placement really well.
It's easy to teach and has enough weight to it to be make me think, but only takes about 60 minutes when you know the rules.

As with all TMG games, the artwork is nicely done, fits the theme and the components are great quality.

It was the first of the TMG games that broke my own rule and bought without playing beforehand. I'm pleased that I did.

* - there is a nice two player variant that works really well.

WOW ! 1741 is my random number and Warhammer Quest the result! What are the odds?
This is one of my favorite games as you can see by my banner.
I own 3.5 copies and almost all the expansions (looking for the Bretonian Knight pack, only got a copy)
Best Dungeoncrawl out there. Plays well solo and with DM. Inject as much roleplay as you like. The system is tough and doesn't make it easy for the players to beat it. Fits in nicely with the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay background.
I have removed my rating for this game based on the actions of GW over fan made content.

Now, that's a good call! I played KoT several times recently and it's amazing how it transforms normal innocent people into aggressive ass-kicking monsters! angry goo
