Ok, so here's what I want you to do:
1) Go to your "my geek" page to determine the number of games you currently own (unless this is something you just know off hand i.e. you don't have enough games).
2) Head on over to www.random.org
3) In the true random number generator, enter the number "1" as the minimum value. Next, enter the number "n" as the maximum value where "n" is the number of games you own.
4) Once a random number has been chosen, find the game in your collection that matches that number and post it here along with anything about the game you'd like to share. Perhaps it's a game you haven't played yet...that's ok. Post that you haven't played it yet.
5) If there's some reason why that number corresponds to something you don't want to post about, give it one more shot, but let's try to avoid that if we can.

Now look. I'm wanting front page geek list here. I've made a couple of geek lists that have done well, but I want award winner. I want massive thumbs (that sounds off, but you understand what I mean). I want tons of responses. I want your lives to change because of the sheer joy this geek list brings. Or something along those lines. I'll start it off with...

Let's do this... I like to exclude expansions... so my total of games is 64... roll and got a 21!!

Galaxy Trucker... great game I love like any other game of Vlaada, what can I say about it? Well... you build your ship and then you what that same ship, the one you spend great effort making been blown to pieces, can something be more awesome? I don't think so.

This mass market game has some gamer appeal, mainly because it plays well with the non-gamer crowd. I generally love abstracts, though this is not a favourite of mine. I would firmly place this game in the "gateway" category.

The game has a puzzly feel to it, and is one of the few abstract games that plays well with more than 2 players. It has interesting colours and shapes, and is an instant hit with old time Tetris players.

Edit to add: Game 22 of 177.

This is a dutch game. Me being a videogame player my wife thought he probably also likes boardgames and got me kahuna from kosmos for two. Thoroughly enjoyed it and made me want more.

a lot more titles came. within the next year i had 35 boardgames and discovered there was a dutch boardgame award nederlandse spellenprijs and this fun little game won it that year. reason enough to add it to my collection.

has had a dozen plays and recently got the expansion for it called "het verraad" which i have yet to play.

By the numbers

48 games in my collection, and the random number... was 48.

#48 on the board/strategy game Top 100 are Antiquity and Go, neither of which I own.

There are 108 cards in an Uno deck. The #108 board/strategy games on BGG are Napoleon's Triumph and A Game of Thrones (first edition).

48 is a "narcissistic number," through subtraction: |8² - 4²| = 48.

Not much to say about this one. I used to play it a lot with my grandmother, before she passed away. This is probably the lightest game I actually have in my collection. I only really like it in 2P, because there is at least a tiny amount of strategy and gamesmanship in that, but it's still too luck-based and algorithmic to do much for me.

We still play this occasionally. We can always trick people into playing because it is a combination of 2 games they are generally familiar with. There is a lot of chance in this game based on the extra draws, swapping hands, and not all cards being in play, but it is still fun.

I own Formula D and three expansions, so I guess it was more statistically likely for one of them to come up instead of, say, Twilight Struggle.

Formula D is my most-played game. I have 70 plays under my belt. And this expansion is my favourite of the ones I own.

We liked this version better than regular clue with more stuff to figure out. The snoop spaces are kind of fun too. After we got this we got rid of regular clue. Does not get played that often but I do not mind a game of it now and then.

#36 of 39, counting expansions.

Thurn and Taxis is a game I greatly enjoy, although I have not played it for a few years. It's light and fun and plays quickly. I actually prefer it to the Ticket to Ride series as there is more pressure to get things done, and you cannot hoard cards in your hand.

I have very fond memories of playing T&T; I bought it while travelling in the region (south Germany). It was fun to go through the map and tick off cities that I had visited or planned to visit.

To be honest I have not much to say about the expansion though; I'm not sure I've even played it. I think I read the rules and got confused and went back to just playing base T&T. However, adding this item to the list made me realise that I had confused this expansion with Power and Glory when rating and commenting, so it was actually useful!

#83 of 318.

To stick with the random theme, here's a few random things about Excape:

1. It's a decent press-your-luck dice filler! Every game collection needs at least one of those.

2. It has unusual dice! Yep, Xs and 7s.

3. It's a Knizia game! From Reiner's better days.

4. It was originally called "Exxtra"! Filosofia changed the name from the 1998 edition by Amigo Spiele.

5. I've reviewed it here! That was almost four years ago.

6. It's colourful subject material for photography! Kudos to martybugs for this great photo.

A 2-player battle card game in the manner of an LCG, but without the never-ending expansion packs. Although, if it had caught on, they probably would have come out with many more. The 6 decks available are a different type of dragon breed and its powers and attacks, etc. You start with the young version of the dragon and can age it up as well as move it around, train it, and attack. First to run out of cards loses, though there is another victory condition of destroying your opponent's dragon egg - which never happened with us. The main problem with the design is that damage is modeled by discarding cards from the top of your deck, so that some of the strongest cards (which are rarer to begin with), can fly right out of play without any control over it and you'll never see and/or be able to use them. Neat concept, though, and the different dragon types actually do really play differently.

Bought it last year with help from a friend's friend who went to Essen - I've been eyeing the version with the original art for a while.

Played it quite a few times - logged plays definitely is less than actual play, since in the original rules you just play it once.

Havn't been playing this with my gaming group much lately, but I am still playing this tons with my non-gaming friends. It's a fun little game that is short enough that I can break it out when we go for drinks.
