We were all in consensus with this one: some interesting concepts with poor execution. As the game is, I might play it with younger kids as a semi-gateway game (given its eminently approachable theme and short playing time), but even then there are so many other gateways that are just better in every way.

Also, as Luke appropriately pointed out: a "deckbuilding" game should probably involve some actual deckbuilding.

Thematically cool, but a good game this is not.

Scott, Matt, Luke, Keldon, Devin, Jared, Zach, and...one more. I'm bad with names...

This one had a mixed reaction. I personally liked it, and would generally choose to play it over normal Werewolf. That's mostly because I've never been a fan of the harsh player elimination in Werewolf. There's no other game in the genre quite like Inquisition, and for that it deserves some props. However, I do agree with Zach that it would be nice to have more decisions toward the endgame - since the available actions disappear at the same rate as the villagers, people can get stuck without any meaningful things to do on their turn (as happened to the one guy whose name is eluding me) if you play with a large group.

Keep the Crown!

Scott, Matt, Keldon, Devin

A prototype sent to Scott for review.

For what it was, it was actually pretty decent. It needed more ways to mitigate the chance involved with all the random draws, though. Is that saying too much? Not sure of the etiquette involved in situations like this...

An updated version of Zach's "Santorini"

Jared, Luke, Zach, and the guy whose name I can't remember.

I want to try this one again next week, since it has apparently gone through quite the overhaul

I really liked it, but agree with James that it would be MUCH better as a co-op game. The 'take-that' aspects toward the endgame didn't really feel good or mesh well with the elegant resource-management mechanics. If someone gets their hands on the co-op rules the designer released, I'd definitely try it again.

Two games with Shane. First was basic game. Second added the Dragon. Shane ended up winning both of them. First game was just a good back-and-forth challenge that ended when he drew his Wizard from the bag and I couldn't escape it. Second game with the Dragon was interesting as it acts as both an obstacle as well as a weapon if you enrage it (the Dragon is neutral and not directly controlled by either player). But in the end I just lost sight of which side of the tile my Duke was currently on and just made a bad move to lose the game.

I still think this is a lot of fun.

Flint, Randy, and one other player (I don't think it was Todd this time!)

Was going to head home early but got talked into this at the last minute.

Cheapass games are always a big wildcard, as I never know what to expect. Guess that's good, because my expectations always stay low for them.

This really was kind of fun. I didn't understand what I was doing at first with all the gathering of evidence cards and motions and stuff, but once I got the hang of trying cases, I found it fun and somewhat comical, all the heinous "crimes" of golfing and wearing a hat in a theater.

Yeah, it's a dice-centric game again, but you certainly have enough decisions to minimize risk that it doesn't SEEM like it's dice oriented. I had fun with it. Glad I stuck around for it.
