Description:

The Wizard of the Tribe has died. As it has been recorded by our ancestors, for thousands of years wizard-wannabes made their predictions for the ostrich race in the Holy Cave, the one making the more accurate predictions becoming the new Wizard. Which ostrich will win the race? Who will become the new Wizard? The answers are not easy since it is an open secret that candidates are not limited just to making predictions...

In Banjooli Xeet players become Wizards who must predict the order of arrival of racing ostriches in order to gain points, while dodging obstacles, collecting berries, avoiding the dreaded Lion, and not waking the sleeping crocodiles. Banjooli Xeet is a fast-paced race game for 2 to 5 players with a lot of bluffing, crazy predictions and hilarious fun.

Description:

Game description from the publisher:

Bremerhaven is a clearly structured but complex economic game about the famous harbor town in the north of Germany. Each player builds his own unique harbor and tries to reach the highest combination of money and prestige by the end of the game.

Each round, players are trying to get the most influence on the action fields they want to use. Since you place your influence cards face down, you have to watch closely what the other players might want to do. (You can even place more than one card on one spot.) The options are varied: Get a new ship with new goods into your harbor, close a new contract, change the values of the four different goods, improve your influence card-hand, expand your harbor, buy a new building, or simply rise in the nautical ranks to get more money. But you have to be careful: Every ship and every contract will stay in your harbor only for a short while. (The transporters and trains are waiting!) If you fail to coordinate the incoming and outgoing goods, you might have to pay penalty for not fulfilling a contract!

Bremerhaven ends after a defined number of rounds, and the rules include both a short version and solo rules. Visually the game will be in the vein of Le Havre.

Description:

In City Council each player takes the role of a council member of a newly founded city. The government will select the members of the city council for the first few years until the city rises and flourishes, by which time the most popular member will receive the position of Mayor.

In order to build the city, you and the other councilmen must maintain a low level of pollution, fight crime, create jobs, and sustain an adequate city budget. If you and the others don't keep up the good work, the city project might not succeed, the government will take over, and all players will lose.

As a member of the council, you must also strive to gain the favor of the different political groups who rule the streets of your city. As the game progresses and the city grows larger, more and more political interest groups will try to impose their will on the city by knocking on your office door and asking you for small "favors" in which you will have to act on their behalf. In return, they'll offer you their support and you'll receive victory points for your personal cause, possibly allowing you to become the city's first Mayor.

Description:

In this 100% modular game you and your team mates are in charge of a special ops team with a special mission! Find hidden bombs and dismantle them, help hostages into safety or take out terrorist leaders. To start your first mission is easy: randomly take a mission card on the first level (level green). A single mission takes only 30 minutes of play + 5 minutes to prepare if you play it realtime. If you have enjoyed your first "training on the job" - hopefully with not too many casualties - many, many other game modes are available for you to try out. So why wait and start up your first mission with COUNTDOWN.

Choose from one of these game modes:
- NEW SINGLE MISSION: did you fail, you can try out a single mission with a different location and different misssion goals;
- LEVEL UP: did you succeed, you might want to try another mission on level 1 or if you have a smart team a mission on level 2 (orange level) might be more challenging...
- SCENARIO PLAY: have you succeeded in a mission on level 2 you can choose to try a level 3 mission or try out your first scenario; a scenario game consists of three missions which are played with the same team of OPS and are of increasing threat level, going up all the way to very heavy enemies and situations; your support cards might help you and your team mates in very difficult situations;
- HINTS FOR CREATIVE PLAYERS: did you enjoy a few missions you can create your own mission or campaign? Now you can create your own single mission or campaign: for example by combining mission locations, goals, threat levels, etc... or make your own series of missions; and real creative players create a new mission set up themselves;
- TRAITOR MODE: yes, we have created a competitive game mode in this COOP game, which increases the tension significantly; now some of the players have different goals and as a result mission is going to be real tough; for the patriots the task is to find the traitor fast.

Develop your primary skill, but don't neglect your attack power, defense power and other skills if you want to stay alive in this thrilling new game.

Available in October, introduction at SPIEL'13 in Essen (Germany). Only available at The Game Master in Hall 3, E-100. Real time video demo available throughout the fair for 1000 players.

Description:

Glass Road is a game that commemorates the 700-year-old tradition of glass-making in the Bavarian Forest. (Today the Glass Road is a route through the Bavarian Forest that takes visitors to many of the old glass houses and museums of that region.) You must skillfully manage your glass and brick production in order to build the right structures that help you to keep your business flowing. Cut the forest to keep the fires burning in the ovens, and spread and remove ponds, pits and groves to supply yourself with the items you need. Fifteen specialists are there at your side to carry out your orders...

The game consists of four building periods. Each player has an identical set of fifteen specialist cards, and each specialist comes with two abilities. At the beginning of each building period, each player needs to choose a hand of five specialists. If he then plays a specialist that no other player has remaining in his hand, he may use both abilities of that card; if two or more players play the same specialist, each of them may use only one of the two abilities. Exploiting the abilities of the specialists lets you collect resources, lay out new landscape tiles (e.g., ponds and pits), and build a variety of buildings. There are three types of buildings:

Processing buildings
Immediate buildings with a one-time effect
Buildings that provide bonus points at the end of the game for various accomplishments

Mastering the balance of knowing the best specialist card to play and being flexible about when you play it – together with assembling a clever combination of buildings – is the key to this game.

Description:

Ironburst is a tactical combat board game using detailed metal miniatures and modular hex-based maps. It plays quick and has simple rules with good tactical scalability. Set-up is fast and so are battles.

The goal is to complete objectives: gathering resources, building, or eliminating specific enemy troops, etc. Players gather resources located on the board to build and repair units and to buy special Event Cards.

The miniature line and the game were developed together, so the miniatures are designed to fit the game mechanisms and vice versa. More specifically, each miniature has multiple moving parts that can be removed (if they are destroyed) and rotated (to aim, to indicate that a weapon has already fired, etc.). Thus, these modular miniatures allow players to do bookkeeping and track game events directly on the battlefield instead of using paper. The moving parts are magnetic and can be swapped in and out to allow players to customize their forces.

To allow the moving parts to take the stress and friction of repeated movement, Ironburst miniatures are cast in a special zinc alloy called ZAMAK, which is not as soft as tin (and much lighter), nor as fragile as resin, while keeping a good amount of detail.
Other Information: • An Irondrake representative has noted that the miniatures in Ironburst range from 12 mm tall (for infantry) to 60 mm tall (for MAW or mechs). The first of three factions for the game will be available at Spiel 2013, with the other two factions being released in 2014. At launch, the line includes tanks, MAWs (mechs), infantry, light vehicles, turrets, microturrets, walls and structures, sold in blisters; limited galvanized MAWs and tanks (around ten each) will be available. Ironburst modular hex maps, including snowy terrain (a set of five boards) and temperate terrain (a different set of five boards), will also be on hand.

In addition, the boardgame version of Ironburst is complete, while the miniature wargaming rules are still under development.

Description:

Players represent various office holders in the ruling Junta. Depending upon his office and the various cards he holds, each player has a certain number of votes. These are important as they must first elect El Presidente and then vote on the budget that he proposes. Here's where it can get sticky. El Presidente draws cards face down from the money deck (which varies in denomination from $1 to $3) and must propose a budget for the year, distributing the money as he sees fit amongst the various offices. Of course, loyalty to him is usually rewarded, while those pesky "thorns in his side" are usually cut off completely. The beauty of all this, though, is that El Presidente can — and most always does — keep some of the loot for himself. And since no one but he knows the value of what he drew, no one knows how much he's keeping. Suspicion is always keen.

Players may attempt to assassinate the other players by guessing where they will be from among five locations. Players who successfully assassinate another player take that player's money, as the only safe money is the money that has been deposited in a Swiss bank account, and the only way to get to the bank is to survive the assassination round.

If the players are unhappy, and there is an excuse, they can call for a coup, where the opposition players seek to take control of a majority of the power centers. Rebel players control the forces of the role which they were assigned (e.g. army, navy, air force), and players loyal to El Presidente do the same, seeking to control the strongholds until the rebellion is quelled.

The goal is to amass the greatest wealth secreted away in your Swiss bank account.

Description:

King and Assassins is an asymmetrical fantasy game of strategy and deception for two players. One player controls a vile king and his knightly lackeys who try to force their way into the castle through a mob of wrathful citizens. The other player controls the mob itself and – more importantly – three assassins who hide among the crowd hoping to kill or stop the ruler long enough for the people to deal with him using their bare fists. The king has only so much time before he is overpowered by his own subjects but using guile and swords of his guards he may be able to eliminate the assassins and hopefully escape into the safety of his palace.

The gameplay is based upon Action Cards which show a limited number of Action Points available to both sides. First, the king and his knights move around the board securing their position or eliminating dangers by pushing aside the crowd, then the assassins hidden among the crowd prepare for their lethal strike by killing guards or making the king's progress slower. It's up to the players to make the most of the Action Points available in the current round. The king's player wins if he manages to escape from the board using one of the exits or if his knights eliminate all the assassins. The assassins win if they kill the king by dealing him two wounds or stall him long enough so that the Action Card deck is depleted.

Choose your strategy, hide the assassins among twelve beautifully illustrated citizens and play two different scenarios, each with a multitude of choices, in this simple yet rewarding game. And remember, every familiar face may conceal a sharp blade!
