A while back i stumbled across the 'one red paperclip' website after not thinking about it for a few years. i can remember how cool i thought it would be to trade up something from one to another.

I set up the first 'one red paperclip' list after having been spurred on by the fact i just made a trade heavily in my favor price wise, but where both parties are very happy with the trade, so i thought hey... could it work on BGG?

The item below is one i have for trade, the box is in ok condition, but overall the cards are in good condition. I will trade this for any other standard production game with the following rules.

Your offer must be for a higher game RANKED game on BGG. I am looking at around a 10% rise in rank for each trade, but otherwise will accept anything. for every rank difference there is, i will donate a penny to charity.. not that much i know, but climbing 1000 ranks is £10, plus there is possibility of further donations due to postage..

Your game must be in reasonable and playable condition.

we both pay our own postage costs. but if your postage costs are higher than mine i will donate the difference, up to £5 to a local cancer charity - 'the big C'. I will be using royal mail for the majority of my deliveries.

not first come first served. If there are multiple offers for the same game then i will usually pick the higher ranked.

i may play games between trading them out.

the game i have listed is not a game i value highly. this is all about seeing how high up the ranks i can trade. The opening game is not high value, around £10 to buy second hand around here at the most. If somehow trades climbed ranks and ended up with me owning a £50 game, great.. if someone offers a £10 game of higher rank then so be it, i will trade down in price if the ranks go up.. if the list goes dead for a while i will close it as last time i ran it..

so trade what you can/want to, i will likely accept it and there may be some charity donations going on.. but please note that i am not made of money, so i have a limited amount to donate each month..

if you want to help out in an interesting way to raise cash for charity, then consider a donation similar to mine (1p or 1c per rank climbed) and add anything you like as a comment.

all donations will go via the donation page of a friend of mine who has recently finished cycling round the whole country to raise cash.. consider a donation to him privatly as well. i recently ran a charity auction and we raised a fair bit due to some outstanding donations.

previous charity auction

regards.

EDIT: i would like the list to not get royally screwed by 'works' games or whatever they were sold under in the states.. i am talking your Ys and similar games that went on sale in their hundreds for £5. whilst the games themselves are great and some on my wants list, i fear they will stagnate the list.. so please think about what you are offering beforehand.. its not so much what i want, but what i have a chance of trading away for the next step as well..

Ok so this is the opening offer in the paperclip thread.

ranked 1773, so there is £18 + delivery differences to raise for this one.. i imagine that opening postage will include some donation.

ok so i found it again.. all in fine order..
