Both players were new:

Damien - Vampire, Won
DC - Human

I volunteered to be Vampire. The human player has to do a lot of deducing on who's vampire and whether to protect humans that could be vampire from dying.

I won by having all 3 vampires in the Castle. All vampires only appeared when the game end draws near. Because of this, a lot of humans were (or need to be) sacrificed for the human player to seek the truth.

DC - Won (New to the game)
Damien -

This is a great 2p game. I was the early adopters of great technologies that I drew early in the game, but it proved to costed me a lot as the more techs I have, the more expensive my next technology is.

DC had 2 cargo holds since the very first turn of the game and it proved to be extremely helpful. I got my 2nd cargo hold card late in the game and decided not to build it and just focus only on one cargo since it was too prices for me to build it at that point.

We played with the custom scoring boards, player boards, and planetary system board designed by Scott E. They're beautiful and really helped enhance the experience.

Good stuff!

DC - 49 (New to the game)
Damien - 35

It's good to revisit this game. I felt the 2p game ended too soon. When the game was over, I knew I'm going to lose judging by the Prestige buildings (they're buildings that grant you VPs) owned by DC. He had 3 and I had only one.

Some mechanics were borrowed from Troyes (Tournay is known as Troyes card game after all) so you can see some similarities and felt both are alike.

I still don't get the buzz about the game. Right now, what I'm thinking is that to fully enjoy this game, you have to play aggressively. Meaning, not all mushrooms are for you to cook (for VPs) but some are meant to be sold to get foraging sticks. With this, you can enter deeper into the jungle (by paying with 1 foraging stick per card that you skip) and snag cards that are far more valuable than relying on cards/mushroom that are available at your feet (available for free).

So far, in all my plays, I've never went deeper into the jungle. All mushrooms that I got, I focused on selling them to get VPs. I need to change my play from now on.

DC - won
Carol - 2nd (New to the game)
Me - 3rd
Darryl - (New to the game)

This was the meanest and cutthroat game of Bruges I've ever played. It really was that brutal and most of the time you'll hear players grunt. Darryl and Caroll constantly attacking other players by giving them threat tokens thus increasing the chances of it being triggered for others. I really liked it as it became really challenging trying to figure out how to do well and at the same time keep the threats at bay.

All were new to the game except me.

DC - Won
Damien -
Caroll -
Darryl -

This is pretty fun with more players. Very simply and straightforward game, added with the drafting (ala 7 Wonders) mechanic.

The fact that this was designed by the same guy who did Archaeology: The Card Game (Phil Walker-Harding) simply made me like it even more. Archaeology TCG is probably my most played filler of all time.

Sushi Go! is quick, fun, simple and very entertaining. However, like many other games, you'll probably outstay it's welcome if you play it repeatedly. If you mixed in with playing with new players, you should be okay.
