In which Paul Bonday and I introduced the other Drew to T&T and had an amazingly close contest, as I won 23-22-22

Quick little filler that Paul B, Oz and some other Paul played while waiting for Werewolf and Netrunner to end.

I picked this one up primarily to play at home, but it has some interesting aspects as well.

In which Oz and the third Paul were introduced to Ginkgopolis. Paul B still doesn't like it much (or do very well). Greg and I battled it out and I won by about 3-4 points. The rest were way behind.

Criminal ran on Weyland and split one game each.

I think Erick's Weyland deck is too much about money. He's always freakin rich but can't get Ice or Agendas. But what do I know?

I'm still seeing so many intricacies that were not readily apparent at first.

For example: When going 3rd to the tiles and faced with a 2 yield and a 1 yield, my instinct is to take the 2 yield and screw the canal overseer going 4th who gets the 1 yield tile, but cannot put his yield marker on it. Someone, Erick?, faced with that situation, took the 1 yield marker one and left the 2er for the canal overseer (who got to put 1 marker on it). As they were the same tile, the net gain for Erick was the same, but it gave the canal overseer something. That created a little alliance between them.

I think I won by keeping my eye on the bigger picture. Everyone got excited for the early sugar cane that kept coming out, while I took some bananas on the cheap. By midgame, the sugar cane was all done (mostly owned by Paul K.) and my banana empire was going strong. Every crop gets 9 tiles (except the one known tile thrown back in the box in a 4er). A single tile in the early game can grow into big points for cheap.

Still loving this one. I need to get feet on that spinny board, though. I'm thinking those little rubber stoppers that you put on closet doors and cabinets to keep them from slamming.

I do really enjoy this game. The theme and the graphic presentation are great. And the game play matches.

It's all about planning for that endgame. And you need to be working on that early. Farms and Buildings are nice to get you through midgame, but you're going to have to get rid of the money you get back after you sell your properties.

In this game, I did not fish for Companions (as I've done in the past) and I did much better. Greg did fish for Companions and seemed to not get what he wanted, but still pulled off the win (mostly based off of his non-action income draining Helpers--I think they were draining 6-7 pounds per turn). Erick and I got to 0, but Greg got to 0 then the extra 6-7 from his Helpers got the win.
