It's normally not too easy to sit down and really play some games during the fair but we got lucky and found an empty table for Going, Going, GONE!.
I had read rules beforehand and did like the simultanious bidding mechanism in theory. It was enjoyable also when playing the game but obviously for anyone who needs control in their games this is not a good option. Fun game.
Kinderspiel des Jahres winner 2013 which has a clever board and game play plus good production value. Game itself left me little disappointed because it's basically a two player game which can be played so that several players control one character together. Also I don't know if the game has enough in it to be interesting for a longer time.
Try to get the cups in right order as fast as possible. That's the game and if you're fan of speed games this might be good for you. I like some speed games but Speed Cups felt as an average game to me. It was fun to try it out but I can't really see a situation where I would play the game.
Alan Moon reprint from the excellent year 1981. Had heard good things about the game and it truly is a gem. Was good with three and five, there's enogh control in the game to make it fun and with some luck you're able to feed nasty points to other players. Excellent trick taking game.
Trick taking game by Friese which proved to be quite horrible. Most of the time game is on autopilot and you don't do any desicions. I our 5 player game the first player eliminated propably waited a good 40 minutes or so the game to end which is not a perfect way to spend time at a local bar. Player elimination just makes the game go on for longer which is a big problem in the game.
