Look at your plays for the month of October, and then check out the games and see if you can find any games where you are currently the solitary logger of a play for October (or if the other loggers were actually in the same game session with you.) Use your common sense in order to make the search faster. Obviously things like Dominion, Magic, etc. will have plenty of people playing them. Note: expansions that only you logged are fine, feel free to add them as well.

Then share any comments you might have. Are we missing something? How could this happen? What is your opinion of the game?

This is kind of ridiculous, folks. This is an extremely enjoyable game, and it should get more attention. There are shaky alliances through dice manipulation. It plays fast, and is simple to teach. If you have an opportunity at least give this game a chance.

This is actually quite a fun and thematic game that recreates shoot out scenes from the wild west. I got it in a geek auction last fall and finally learned it with Lindy. We played the first 3 scenarios.

In the first Dave Tutt (Lindy) won against Wild Bill Hickock.

The second one, in a bar, Wild Bill (me again) forgets to be facing the door while playing poker and Jack Mackall, who has a grievance against him, walks in, comes up behind him and shoots him in the back. But Wild Bill, not yet dead, gets a shot of adrenaline (from a card), gets up, moves around behind Jack and shoots him in the back to get even. He then proceeds to finish him off.

In the third, it is the scene at the OK Corral. Doc Holiday and the Earps (me) do a lot of good shooting and win.

This was well worth the $20 for an opened but unplayed game.

I get to add two games to the list this month.

My wife has had The Dukes of Hazzard Card Game since she was a little girl and tells me she has never actually played it. She didn't even have the rules for it. Well, luckily I found them on BGG and we fixed the problem of her never playing it before. We played 2 games. With two people, I just don't think it works. We will probably try it out with the kids. It's easy enough, kinda like a cross between UNO and Gin (the card game, not the liquid). There were a few times when she could just lay down her hand and I never got a chance to even play.

When my parents were in town, we were looking for a little time waster. I brought out Bottle Topps. We had some laughs. I am actually surprised to see I was the only one to play it in October.

This is one of several games for the recently published Mystique card deck which has 60 cards (3 colors * 4 suits * 5 numeric values). We've been playing several of them and we seem to have settled on playing this one most often lately.

You take turns drawing a card and placing it next 2 to already placed cards (in an imagined hex grid, so each card can have up to 6 neighbors) with an eye toward the largest contiguous group of each feature. At the start of the game you each receive a secret goal card. At the end of the game, when all cards have been placed, find the largest groups of your color, suit, and number, then multiply those, and the winner is the player with the lowest product. As play progresses you start to get a clearer idea of which color, suit, and number your opponent is trying to keep from getting large. Fun combination of card laying tactics & opponent psychology.

I'm one play short of a dime for October alone with this neat little matching game, and with several days to go more plays are likely. My daughter loves it, and she's been especially eager to play it the last few days because we managed to recover a pair of cards that had been missing (which made two of the sets impossible to complete).

I'm also the only person on BGG with any recorded plays of this game.

Early in the month I picked up five plays of this simple spin & move racing game. My daughter really enjoys this one too, and like the Curious George game I'm the only person on BGG with any recorded plays.

Last, and certainly least, I was the only person to record plays of this for the month, with two on back-to-back days. It's a roll & move trivia game with a gimmick that involves flipping part of the board, but as a game it's not very good. I'd been hesitant to even try this for a long time because most of the issues were apparent just from reading the rules, but I wanted to be "fair" and actually play it before writing it off completely. My daughter enjoyed it enough to want to play a second time, but mostly she just liked collecting the Daleks, Silurians, and Weeping Angels. (We left off the trivia part both times because at only 4-years-old she's not going to be watching DW for a while yet.).

Let's see...

Banditos - I still really enjoy this timing game, where everyone's trying to get the round to end at _just_ the right time.

Die Fugger - nice little Adlung game, but like many of them it seems to be wearing out for me over time.

Thinking Man's Golf - one of two games I inherited from my mother's father; it still has the tag from when my parents gave it to him as a father's day gift, before I was born.

Sweep! - easily the most strategic curling game I've played.

Cul-de-Sac - I blame Dan Blum, who introduced me to Lazy Days games. This isn't a bad one, but not my thing enough to keep it.

Skyscrapers - interesting little physical construction game that I think could have been a hit with a little more development

Old Town - and I even got to meet Stephan Riedel this month as well!

The Next President - one of my favorite election games

Black Box - really? I almost didn't check this one...

Gateball? - the only Japanese game I have which pre-dates the hobby game explosion there.

Scoozie - wonderful simulation of a single play in football, and a great game in my book

Sextet - the game I've listed most on these lists, as it's almost unplayed elsewhere and I get to it semi-regularly

Dolce Vita - I enjoyed this a bit more than I remembered, if not enough to want to pick it up

Guild - I played Renaissance Man for the first time this month, and then Guild - and realized that Guild does what I wish Renaissance Man does (though it isn't a bad game by any stretch)

Medievalia - never to darken this list for me again

Not bad, considering nothing I played in the past week had any chance of making this list...

I really like the idea of this game. It is suppose to serve as an introduction to heroclix and a fully functioning mini-game in its own right.

In practice, I did not care much for this game. The rules are absolute mess, the "co-op" game basically amounts to play against yourselves.

Before Federation Commander, this was my first starship combat game that I loved.

I played this game with a friend. The idea is that we were playing two different alien races who encountered each other in combat for the first time. We both designed a 7,000 point fleet. My fleet relied on fighters and long range missiles. His fleet had fighters to defend against mine. He then designed smaller craft that were fast, maneuverable, and crammed with small weapons.

We did not reveal our ships until they fired or were fired upon. This led to tense moments of initial movement as our fleets got closer, and our fighters rushed ahead.

It turns out that my opponent forgot that damage is calculated by taking the weapon base damage, adding the ships weapon bonus, and subtracting the frame bonus of the hit ship. His ships were to small to get a weapon bonus, and my ships were big enough to have a frame bonus. His small ships only did 1 damage, which my frame canceled. This meant that his ships could not hurt mine! The tense feeling quickly devolved into fits of laughter as we realized how absurd this whole combat was. It was not a very epic battle, but it was a fun game!

I got this as a free giveaway a few years ago at Origins or Buckeye Game Fest or something. I had never played it before, but decided this month to pull it down off the shelf, dust it off (literally--there was actual dust involved), and try to get it to the table. Obviously, I succeeded.

It's a weird combination of logic game and party game. You could probably remove the party element and it would still be playable, but maybe also still weird. I'm fascinated by it, but perhaps not fascinated enough to get it to the table again.

I had no idea this game existed until earlier this month when I saw it in a store. I've been completely infatuated with crayon rail games in recent months, so this became an easy impulse buy. My wife and I registered the only three plays of it in October. This is a unique addition to the crayon rail line and I hope Mayfair makes more express maps, which are ideally suited for two players. I really like that the cards in this version only have two options and they are printed on a miniature map of the board for easy locating.

I have four items for this month (one shared with Joe Huber because we were both in the same game):

Breakout: Normandy -- An Avalon Hill era wargame that is a tense luck management struggle. I'm playing with Andy Young. Neither of us has much experience with the game, so we're learning together (though I have a little more experience than he does.)

1837: Rail Building in the Austro-Hungarian Empire -- I managed to trade for a copy of this 18xx game, and we played part of one 3-player game (it took us about 3 hours to get to the first permanent trains, and then one of us had to go.) I now own three 18xx games about Austria (the others are 1824: Austria-Hungary and 1854,) and I'm not sure that 1837: Rail Building in the Austro-Hungarian Empire isn't going to be my favorite of the 3.

Bucket Brigade -- I've been looking for the Honeybears edition for a long time, and Joe Huber finally found one for me. I played a game to celebrate.

Old Town -- This is the one I shared a play of with Joe. I think of it as a newer game, even though I had never played before, so I was surprised to see that it's more than 10 years old.

Japon Brands has been getting more and more attention at Essen. This helped remind me that I had tracked down this family friendly Anime (no fan service) dice game a few years back, but had never played it. Nothing particularly innovative here. Typical push your luck kind dice rolling to try to earn spells/familiars which help you later on.

Pleasant time with the family and, most importantly, doesn't overstay it's welcome.

Almost didn't bother checking to see if I was the only one to log a play of this...

Introduced a newer member of our lunchtime group to Bohnanza. Since we had 3 players and I have the original german edition of Bohnanza, we added this expansion in. I love this game and was very happy to get it to the table after so many years.

I'm sure that it's on this list because these cards are now part of the standard game and there was an updated version of this expansion released 4 years after my edition. No matter. More exposure for Bohnanza is a good thing.
