All 8 Signed, Limited Edition Treefrog Line games (auction ending Nov. 14)
- Daniel Corban(dcorban)Canada
Five years ago, Martin Wallace had a vision. He planned for five years' worth of games, three games each year. Every year, he would design and release a two-player game, a three-player game, and a game for four or more players. The games would be produced entirely of cardboard and wood. He formed the "Treefrog Line", a series of games sold directly to the public in limited quantities, with no plans to license or reprint the games in the future.Recommend
It was an interesting plan, and he hit the ground running. After his first game, Tinners' Trail, he set up a subscription plan, where customers could pre-order the entire year's worth of games at a slight discount. His plans became more ambitious that first year, as he decided to add a fourth yearly game to the series. Now a multi-player train game would be included each year. I had participated in the Tinners' Trail pre-order, so I quickly subscribed to his yearly plan.
However, after only two years, he wound the plan down, instead choosing to go with the standard distribution model. Instead of selling the games directly to customers in a limited, exclusive fashion, he would license the games to third party publishers. Thus was the end of the unique Treefrog Line.
As I said, I was an early subscriber. I own all eight games in the series. All are hand-numbered and signed by Martin Wallace. All have the original wooden and cardboard components which made this series unique. All were shipped to me directly, and I am the original owner. Despite some of these games being favourites of mine at one time or another, and "Wensleydale" being his best game, second only to Brass, I have made the decision to sell.
The games are all well cared for and the components range from excellent to unused condition. The rulebooks were gently read but otherwise not damaged. Some of the boxes have shelf wear and a slightly damaged corner, but all boxes are intact, with no rips or splits. The signatures are intact. The image for each item is of the actual game. I am willing to ship anywhere in the world, with all shipping costs paid by buyer. The shipping cost for each game to the USA or Canada will be in the $12-24 range, depending on game and destination. Overseas will cost $25-40 depending on country. These games are heavy! Of course, if you buy multiple games, I combine into a single shipment. Anyone in the Greater Toronto Area can arrange for local pickup.
Please bid in $1 increments. Payment is to be made by PayPal. All items will be processed through the BGG marketplace.
All auctions will end Thursday, November 14, at approximately 11:00PM EST (23:00 -5 GMT).
