Alright, let me see if I can do this right this year, without reducing anyone to tears. Each RPG description should appear below. In addition, this year, one of the goals of this list will be to put all the downloads together on one page. Finally, any user may use this geeklist to give commendation to the designer of any RPG they appreciated. (Please do not reveal your votes on this list.)

In Agents of Five, players are Yuansu Shi, people of the elements. They are in service to the Celestial Hierarchy. In their role as one of the Agents of Five, they use their connection to the elements to overcome obstacles and right the wrongs identified by the Celestial Hierarchy.

The game is based on a limited understanding of the Chinese elements and each player has a dominant element. Players can use their dominant element to aid friends or oppose foes depending on their own element.

The game format is traditional, with a game master creating challenges for players to overcome using their powers and skills.

A Role-Playing Game About Santa's Reindeer Saving the World

Santa Claus is not only a benefactor, he is also a difficult person with emerging dementia. He
simply does not have a clue. Fortunately his reindeers know better.
There's a race of alien creatures on Earth, a race that might enslave all humanity. These aliens are
erroneously called Santa's Elves. They are everywhere. They study children. Someday they are
ready. The only thing standing between them and humans are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen,
Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen, and Rudolph.

A Roleplaying Game About Atonement and Madness

Game introduction:

Caspar and Henry is a roleplaying game for two game masters (GMs) and two or more players. Thus the game requires a minimum of four people. I doubt it would work well with more than seven or eight people total, but if you want to try it, by all means do so and let me know how it goes. I’d be especially interested in hearing if you use it in an Art History class!

One GM is an elemental force (or, if you prefer: angel, or even god) named Caspar. The other GM is of the same level of supernatural ability (but not alignment) and is named Henry.

The players are human pilgrims on a penitential pilgrimage to atone for their sins. “What sins are those?” you may ask.

Ah, we don’t know yet. In fact, that’s what the game is all about...

The year is now 2085.

The global population has grown beyond sustainable levels due to rampant advances in healthcare. As life expectancies grow longer and longer, resources become fewer and fewer. New population legislation forces everyone over the age of 35 to complete the Social Value Exam to determine how much they were worth to society. Unfortunately, the test strongly favors the young. Each year on their birthdays, those over the age of 35 must report to testing facilities with the previous year's passing test results and then test again. Those who fail are given one week to get their affairs in order and say their goodbyes before reporting to a government sponsored, privately operated euthanasia center. Those over thirty-five who can't prove they passed the SVE can legally be killed on sight.

You have just received your failing test results. Are you going to turn yourself in and die peacefully in a Death Bed, or will you run and rage against the dying of the light?

What's it going to be, old man?

In «Extra Edition!» players form the editorial staff of a popular newspaper of the 50s: each of them will be the journalist responsible for a certain page, for instance the crime news, local news, showbiz news, sports news or whatever else they like.

If a player wishes to be the photograph, he’s allowed to do it: there shouldn’t be more than one photograph in the game though, as his task is simply to take one or two perfect photos to be published in the page, not pick up pieces of information (although he may help the other reporters with his contacts).

As in any proper RPG, the players will cooperate, each one for his own competence area, to pick up pieces of information about a specific news event that has only just occurred and cover it with an article or two in an extra edition soon to be printed. It goes without saying that this event needs to have some exceptionality and the potential to shake the town quiet: a wicked murder or an extraordinary robbery are the obvious favorites but obviously the event could be anything the GM likes it to be.

Far Gone Misadventure Game is a role-playing game: an activity designed to be fun in which the participants entertain themselves by pretending to be people other than themselves. This game requires one person to act as a facilitator (call the GameMaSter, or GMS) who presents the rest of the players with situations. The players then interact with the GMS' events and characters to produce a shared narrative world of adventure and wonder.

You may try running a game with any number of players, but the recommended number for this game is zero.

This is narrative-focused RPG. This means instead of mechanical rules, the game world is defined by description and narration. The game mechanics only helps to interpret the events, but doesn’t provide answers to what actually happens.

This game is meant not to confine, but to inspire you.

There are no quantifiable stats for the character and no difficulty level for the challenges. The action are instead defined by the way the character does them, for example, forcefully, carefully or deviously.

The success of the action is determined by the metaphysical balance of five mystical elements, and each action in turn impacts this balance.

THE OLD AGE

Very little is remembered of the Empires that existed in the Old Age. The cities seemed to stretch on eternally and their spires touched the heavens. Those who are old enough to speak of these cities weep silently, remembering the atrocities that lead to their downfall. Some still dream about the blinding light that changed the world forever, while others whisper about the dark shadows that seem to exist in the ruins.

THE CURRENT WAY

The remnants of society still exist, broken and shattered in unimaginable ways. Those who survived the apocalypse were forever changed by their surroundings, becoming twisted versions of their former selves. Underground shelters and caves turned their inhabitants into dark and stout creatures; while the deep forests created pale and spindly ones. Rumors persist of enclaves of surface dwellers, relatively unchanged by the blight.

Battle “to the death” with the 11 Disney Princesses … whoever is the last standing wins. Unlike most games, player need not control a single character, but can instead rotate across all of the characters, making decisions for all of them. In the end, the players will have created an awesome edition of the Hunger Games with the Disney Princesses as contestants.

"In most role playing games you play a character, a single person. This person is often part of a group or party of other player characters. Mob Rules isn't like this. It isn't about the individual character, it's about the group as a whole. Here you don't play a character you play a group of characters. Instead of getting into the mind of your character you need to adopt a mob mentality." - Maurice Tousignant

It's all but over for humanity. A massive invasion has left the world in ruins with a scant few people desperately fighting back, most likely with no chance of success. You are the leader of a small group of resistance fighters, one of the few survivors who have chosen to not just hide and wait for the inevitable but to strike back against a foe that seems impossible to defeat. This is your story. This is a game of choices, values and introspection. You will play alone by imagining yourself placed in situations where you are forced to make decisions that affect the lives of your fellow fighters, and perhaps the fate of all of humanity. The key to enjoying this game is to do just that: imagine. Put yourself in the situation the game introduces and consider your emotions, your own thoughts, what your options are, and then choose. Commit to the choice, and when the consequences come accept them, contemplate them, and try to decide if what you gained was worth what you lost.

"A Wolf in Cheap Clothing was my entry for the 2013 RPG Geek 24 Hour RPG Design Contest. The name just sort of popped into my head after I was done designing the game and realized I did't have a title. I think the name is a nice fit for this Mystery/Noir/Detective setting. What originally got me thinking of this setting was a discussion about those old Charlie Chan movies, which I loved as a kid.

I wanted to be able to keep characters from being too min/maxed, thus the 'assign a die' mechanic seemed like it might work. I'm not sure if other RPGs have ever used a similar mechanic. Flashbacks and Accolades are obviously similar to bennies, or hero points, two mechanics which I'm somewhat familiar with. The difference I liked about flashbacks was that they are really additional background story plots that are conceived during the game.

I really wanted to attach an adventure (job/assignment) within the rules, but the time constrictions kept that on the drawing board. All in all, I spent about six or seven hours on the game design." - Kyle Peters
