I had about twenty students come to our second game club for 9 to 14 year old students. Here is a list of some of the games we played and my tips for myself or any other school teachers who might consider these games.

4 players loved this game. One of my oldest students and officially one of my "helpers" was actually taught the game by one of the newer students to our club who is about two years younger.

I can tell it was a huge hit and they all had a great time.

I should add that the 6th grader was "self-taught" or rather he watched the Watch It Played video series and was able to teach his peers last session.

Unfortunately, this one will likely not get played next time as I want to give that student a chance to try something different (Flash Point: Fire Rescure as it turns out.)

I made a few mistakes in teaching this one to 6 students. First of all I should have arranged the seats so there were be less problems. They were fine but ... could have been better. Also, I think it was hard to check in on 6 students.

Also, we started at a narrow lab table. I noticed we needed to add a second table so there would be enough room for all the cards. However, after we moved we also had issues with which cards were the cards we were supposed to take.

We won't play this next session until I can come up with a better procedure. I'm thinking I might even want to mark how many cards should be in the hand you are picking up. For example, make a 3" x 5" card with the numbers from 6 to 1 on each. Thus, the first round put a a "6" out so that all the students see that the first hand they get from their neighbor should be a hand with 6 cards in it.

I'm thinking teach this to a smaller group next time ... maybe only 4 students.

I think the one student decided she would rather just keep score and watch than play this one. I don't think I fully sold her on the game. Plus, her BFF wasn't at school that day.

I think the group did ok but the leader didn't have a ton to say afterwards. This was essentially the same group as last week plus a new "helper" and one other student ... who probably felt like the odd person out.

Helper switched to a group that didn't really get a good sense of how to play For Sale. I think this group was also fine but I think they are hoping to get to game with new people next time. It is tough to pre-plan as I never know for sure who is coming and who isn't.

This game continues to be hugely popular and requested frequently. I've had trouble finding a second copy but I finally did track one down. I do a raffle at the end of the year and I'm sure they're hoping this one will be in the raffle.

I'm thinking of doing a one session "ban" on this one as I don't want to to grow old for them too quickly. Plus, ... we actually need to work on keeping the volume down and this game by its very nature encourages people to laugh and be a little loud. I know I'm coming across wrong but I do want them to play the longer games first and use games like this to fill extra time at the end.

I'm pretty sure the younger students played this as well. It still gets requests.
