Tony, Raphael, Mike, Kyle (I think), and I played this last night. Interesting game, Kyle came from behind and took the lead on his own and then kept it with a bit of king making from Mike and Raphael. It was fun though, I want to play it again at some point.

3 players we didn't play with the 6th color.
I screwed up once and turned my hand the wrong way, I don't think it changed anything, I mixed up my cards so I would know where anything was and the only card I recall seeing was a white number one - knowing the exact position would have been a help.
we completed 3 of the four and counted 21 points just barely making us super players, everyone that watched in amazement will talk about for years to come.
Three players

Played a transcontinental game. It uses the Eastern and Western US maps. First you play the east then when all the empty town markers are gone you can build to the west. It took 5 players a little over 4 hours to complete. Patrick ran away with it only having 4 shares out at the end of the game. Followed by Roland, Brian (me), Bernie, and Mike.

First game of the day. First set up and explained the rules of St. Petersburg, then had too many players.... Played the most different game of Container. Everyone was SUPER cheap on the auctions. Everyone had 1-2 loans for most of the game, there were several shipments purchased by the auctioner, goods were expensive.... I think I won with about $80, Rapheal $63, Mike $?, Steve $?, and Patrick $18. I was amused that you start with $20 and I am sure that Patrick was frustrated. I "passed" several times just to conserve money. I saw the bank repossess some containers for non payment of loans. Very odd....

Finished up the day for me with this. Roland set up and explained it to Mike and Jason. Jason thought any game with monsters must have battle, gore, and dice...but not quite the case here. Roland ended up buying a pet that did not have a place to go, oops. Jason ended up buying a cage, betting on getting a pet later in the turn, but was unsuccessful, Mike collected cages and upgrades. I had a big sale in the middle of the game for 18 point to give me an insurmountable lead, followed by Roland, Mike(with his cagy strategy), and Jason(what no dice).

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship.

A one player game, I played about 1/3 of the way through.
Not an easy task being stranded alone on an island.
I do like the piece and quite, but for how long, I headed up the mountain to try and single a boat. I made it about a third of the way and gave up due to having to work tomnorrow.(Today)
Somewhat of a story telling game, you draw cards every turn and take actions. Being by myself made it very difficult to start a fire, fish for food, explore the island, build shelter, and even gaining energy back after a long day of trying to survive was difficult. The jungle was unforgiving, I was hurt several times and even had one of my injuries turn into a trama and without proper medical attention there was nothing I could do.
The exploration was really fun as I drew cards that unfolded a story, and the challange to trying to find my way back to camp.
the temp was so hot that the fire caught the hut on fire losing my only shelter and burning what was left of my wood. Not having any wood my fire went out.
The days were long and the nights were tough, I can see how having others stranded with you can help to survive and possibly be rescued.

I think this one should be played back to back with Robinson Crusoe and see the differces of the two as I've played both and they are a much different of a game than one and other.

Four players, Steve S, Steve C, Michael and Tony
I don't think we took the expedition portion of the game serious enough, we needed to move and move every round, there seems to be two options for this either everyone goes and we fly through the cards, or every round one person goes and does as many cards as possible.
One of the game changing items was the raid on the ship. We were caught or I should say Steve and Steve were caught and come to think about it Steve and Steve didn’t do too well pulling the wood from the sinking ship.
Even with all of the injuries they caused to themselves they were able to make good of what little energy they had left.
As we fought to get to the top of the mountain, the strong man received his fourth trauma and they was enough to put him into a sleep to never awaken.
Depressed the next two followed in a downward spiral and also died with the doctor being the only one left alive chances seemed dim and he was unable to make a rescue happen to only be lost forever writing in his journal of how his friends left him alone

5 player game - I was in the top three losing by 5 or so, 2 points behind Walter and the about three more from the winner.

two players just couldn't get anything going, the spread from first to last was a min 30 or more points.

It's more important controlling the gangsters that give you victory points than powers.

Walter was in the lead most of the game making him a target, and the last three rounds I think he scored about 3 point minus the final scoring.
That opened the door to the second place person taking the lead and winning , I was third most of the game and happy where I ended up

Four players, I think this is one of Walters favorite games.
Grant was close to winning myself and him fought over control of monopoly on production and building - I was able to get my engine going a little faster than Grant and even though Grant had the building that gave him control over ties I was able to pull the monopolys back fairly quickly
The last round I won with exactly 16 points

Walter controlled this one most of the game.
Fun trick taking game similar to Spades.
several differences the trump changes from round to round or I should say could change and then you have 4 wizards and 4 jesters - wizards beat all even trump and jesters lose

four player game and what an easy, simple game it is, oh wait we lost.
It was really quick, we found all the pieces needed to fix our wonderful flying machine and just needed to head back and fly off into the sunset as far away from the sand storm as possible.
We had one round that was all we needed, one round and Walter was thirsty with no water and no one around him to help him.
He was overwhelmed by the heat.
our party lost

A battle between dark and light myself playing the light side while the evil emperor Roland's hand drove his forces. Roland with five fighters and myself with 3 an equal point value, playing 100 point teams, I was the first to strike taking out one of the emperors fighters. In the end the empires forces were too much
This time the dark side wins but there'll be a next and we'll be stronger, better and victorious.

I played this one solo and it's a nice quick two player game very simple with decent strategy I was one round way from the fuel running out one it was going to come down to the bomber being shot down or the last round it would have moved into possition and bombed the city.
The RAF still had 3 good planes with two 3 shot and one with a 2 shot firering 9 shots at the bomber I was almost gaurenteed victory.

The RAF were succesful and win

The game seems very well balanced with dice determining the effects of the guns. The control comes in with the decission of where to move your planes and how far. The fuel consupmtion makes for a timer and keep the pressure on to keep moving forward.

You say easy, I say 35 fricken zombies and they're everywhere.
you have no place to go and without the supplies there.s no hope.

I very tough fan made scenario very fun very tense.
The heroes Mike, Robin, Tony and Bernie.
The very smelly zombie Thomas.

This day was not a day to celebrate unless you're a zombie

1st time play, very interesting area control - you put tiles out, use actions on the tiles, bid for control of the tiles ect ect ect... I did something against my better judgement, (except for coming in last place, now that's normal) I had a bonus tile for the last round that if I was able to win control of the tile I would score 10 point per 5 resource tiles - I was able to score 30 points alone from that tile and I was able to get some other end game scoring points, but just not enough.

Brian Killed us something like 68 points
Steve C. ended with 54 or 58 - I think it was 54
Tony 52.

I could be wrong but it seemed like Steve C really wanted to get this one played, I'm glad we did it really is a fun game but it can be a little lopsided. It was a rather simple game compared to the intimidating size of box, components and just all the eye candy this game provides.

Game is driven by action points and action selection.
The use of a bits tower (A dice tower for the cubes) there's seven actions and cubes for each action and every action has one cube drop of it's color each round, then what ever comes out of the bits tower becomes the available actions(color of cubes) to choose from. When you get to the last color cubes (for the round) you have a clean up phase, fight the pirates remove and replace several chits and start a new round of dropping bits.

I had a very nice engine working for me that allowed me to capture some prime build chits and I was scoring huge points when placing them.
I did feel like I was behind for a long time and Steve said he felt the same that he was behind.
The first player is odd when I didn't have control of being first player I really wanted it, When I finally took start player over I wanted not to go first and then when I lost it again I wanted it back - I really liked that aspect of the game I know it sounds odd but for me start player always seems to be what you want and there's advantages and disadvantages in both positions.

Tony 220
Steve C 140

This has been a stupidly busy month and when I haven't had something going on or been sick I've been playing AC4: Black Flag way, way to much.

It was nice to actually get to play some boardgames tonight. First up was a 7 or 8 player game of Arkham Horror. We lost and Cthulhu ate our faces and the rest of the world...

After that we split up into different groups I went off to play Rex.

In the first game I was the Emirates of Hacan so got to collect a lot of cash and almost, almost, won the game solo. I was at 3 of the locations needed and lost a fight because Luke had my traitor bringing him and Andrew up the 3 of the 4 places they needed to win. Next round I couldn't get my guys back and back on the board fast enough to slow them down as they stomped Steve and Paul's alliance and took the game. It also might not have helped that I screwed over Paul and Andrew early on so they tried to do what they could to block me...

Second game I was the Federation of Sol. So basically I went from having a crapload of money the previous game, everyone had to pay me to land troops, to having almost no money this game. Even without money I was doing ok, early on I got into a couple of big fights and tactical retreated to end the battle and clear the board. The first one was against Paul who had just spent a lot of money to deploy most of his units into that battle. The second one was with Luke and basically the same setup. That may have contributed to both of them gunning for me the rest of the game. Paul and Luke were able to ally shortly after and control the board.

I have come to realize that I have more fun with this game playing to cause chaos then I do when I play to win.

While we were playing Rex everyone else went to go play a 5 player game of Lords of Waterdeep. It was Crystal's first time playing but everyone else had played a few times. From what I understand that game somehow ended up in a 3 way tie on points at the end, Crystal came in 2nd/4th and Natalie in last.
