I take a look at Dispatch - an interactive mystery subscription box thing. Is it a game? It's more of a box. An interesting box.

Edit - Chapter two added.

SpyNet is Richard Garfield on a lark. It's not going to blow your mind like Netrunner or achieve the omnipresence of King of Tokyo, but it is clever and thoughtful.

Folklore: The Affliction accomplishes what many games merely purport to - it's the single best blend of traditional RPG and board game I've ever seen. We're not talking simply campaign modes and character leveling, but wholesale adventure design more akin to Ravenloft I6 than Descent Road to Legend.

Zpocalypse 2 is definitely a more fully realized effort springing from the roots of Zpocalypse. This zombie game is half brain smashing goodness and half intensive blue-collar workday as you build your base, craft items, and go on patrol.

Empires is a heavily abstracted economic Euro with a large injection of negotiation. Clocking in at a brief 60 minutes, it does an expert job of putting players in a position requiring trading and bartering to run their engines at utmost efficiency. Unfortunately, stripping the design bare enough to fit in that time slot robs it of personality.

The much anticipated sequel to one of the best adventure games ever designed arrives with all the silence of the Martian wasteland. It has its moments, and it does capture its scientific themes extraordinarily well, but it's much less thrilling and ultimately less satisfying than Robinson Crusoe.

Fallout is simultaneously a fresh breath and a bit of a wheeze. The story elements are fascinating, but the agenda system often undermines them and removes focus from the best parts of the game. Still, a very solid entry into the adventure genre.

Not Alone's a solid little game that entrenches itself in double-think and bluffing. The Exploration expansion adds some much appreciated variety to the proceedings and is absolutely worth its modest price tag.
