This geeklist was born after reading many post in different forums about "I hate this rule because "banana" , or i hate this rule but the game is still ok"

SO here is a geeklist in which you can discuss those rules and maybe find a solution to it... i will use an entry as an example on how to create the geek list!

enjoy, discuss and remember to thumb up (or tip some geek gold if you feel like it )

PS: I want to make this geeklist a tool for gamers in which you can discuss and come up with rules that can solve problems in somewhat good or fantastic game, faulted by strange or messed up rules!

The sympathizer Rule (even if it is already solved fits the geek list)

Rule: The sympathizer reveals as soon as he receives this card and his alliance his determined by resources

Why it is faulted: human players tend to play suboptimal in order to gain advantage and so it is anti thematic

Possible solution:
- released a variant that solves and eliminates the problem
- Other house rules

Another zombie game faulted this time by not so clear rules... but at least it is highly customizable

rule 1: player decide in which way zombie moves

Why it is faulted: it is anti thematic, you could basically move away zombie from you just because you don't wanna deal with them

possible solution:
- roll a die to see how many zombies move and then move the one nearest to each player

rule 2: ZOMBIE CONGA: no more than one zombie on each space

possible solution:
- permit 2 or more zombie in a space prolonging the game time and the combat phase

Of course many of you have thought this game to be in this list

Rule: whenever you must shoot in another space in which there are both zombie and ally the bullet will hit with 1000% precision your ally

Possible solutions:
- play as it is and don't complain
- flip a coin with head and tails for a 50% chance
- other house rules

This is my favorite game, but I recently a bad ending to one game.

I was playing an online game (with the designer of program) and we weere playing desert rules. One of the rules is the game can end early if sandstorm comes up (1 in 54 chance and the end of each deck).

I was winning by huge amount with a full deck to go I only needed to advance one space or kill/rout one more of his men and then the sandstorm hit.

The original rule says "Most VP wins" (which was me). There apparently was an unpublished errata saying the defender wins in attacker vs. defender automatically scenarios (which was him). And which 90% of the scenarios are of the latter type.

So basically I lost to humorous bit of chrome dreamed up at the AH offices 30 years ago.

The sandstorm rule rule is arbitrary and unfair no matter which side is given the automatic victory.
