In addition to gaming, I enjoy building scale models, mostly of military vehicles. For this hobby, I turn to armorama.com, part of the larger kitmaker.com community for scale model builders.

While I am on BGG, my wife frequents Ravelry, which is a lot like BGG, except its focus is the fiber arts, such as knitting, crochet, and spinning yarn. Very similar in that it has tools to track your "stash" which is your yarn inventory. General forums, as well as groups similar to our Guilds. One can search for patterns, and add them to your queue of things to work on, with the ability to log and share your progress on projects, or pics of the completed work. In-site messaging, similar to Geekmail, as well as the ability to follow friends (ala Geekbuddies) are also there.
