and I will hold a list of statistics for asymmetrical games (i.e - games where there are different sides, each one with different rules).

We get the statistics from the "played" games data in BGG, by using the XML2 API. The data needs adaptation, though, because sometimes you need to go to google translate to understand the Japanese symbols who will tell you who won the game. (BTW, it would be nice if people would put which side wins the game, not only the player names )

You can check the statistics for the games in this geeklist, by clicking in the "Statistics" link in each entry.

If you want to get notified when a statistics is updated, I'll post a comment both in entry and in the geeklist. You can either subscribe to the entry of the game you are interested in, or to the whole geeklist to know when new games are added.

We are open to suggestions about what games we should get stats for

Revolver is an asymmetrical, card-combat game for 2-players, that pits Padre Esteban guardians vs the General Mapache raiders. The game is quite different, with Padre Esteban winning if he is alive at the end of the game.

With 26 games, it right now holds a very good ratio of victories per side (46.2 - 53.8%).

A chess-like fight that is very asymmetrical. The "King" does not hold any secret, but it only needs to reach the exit to win. The problem? In the bunch of peasants along the way, there are some "assasins" hidden...

With 92 games, it is a 54,34% for the Assasins and 45,66 % for the King.

Claustrophobia is a dungeon-crawler for 2 players. One side play the humans, that are strong but limited in lives, and the other side (the dark forces of evil) will conjure up a horde of monsters to try to destroy them...

The game appears to be easier for the demon player, at least in the first scenarios (be it either that it is really easier for the demon player or that the learning curve is steeper for the human player). Most of the recorded games are for scenarios 1 and 2 (and no scenario), which points to novice players.

Best-balanced scenario appears to be scenario number 3.

Android is a card-based, asymmetrical, 2 player game, that pits the Runners, who love to steal data from computers, versus the Corporations, who own that data and need to defend them. There are different factions among the runners and there are different corporations fighting for global supremacy.

The games seems very well balanced. If anything, there is a (very slight) advantage for the runners, but it's not really too much noticiable.

Andean Abyss is the first title in the COIN series. There are 4 factions, very different between them. We take a look on how each faction fares, specially taking into account the different number of players.

It looks like the government of Colombia faces a daunting task...

Our next stop is another game of the COIN series. This time, a distant plain.

It looks like the Afghan government has some advantages, but it does not match the experience of some players. Strange, isn't it?

A mind-game between Jack and the police, where one player stands for Jack and up to 5 players handle the policemen.

Interesting enough, the game seems balanced for 6 players (5 police-players) but for 2-5 players (1-4 police-players) Jack suffers a lot more. So, it looks like 5 police players are not able to coordinate as good as 4. Really interesting

The 4th installment in the COIN series, "Fire in the lake" is a game about the Vietname war, with 4 sides, as is usual in the COIN series. One player handles the USA, other the North Vietnamese army, another the Vietcong, and a last player handles the ARVN (Army of the Replubic of VietNam).

Stats-wise, it looks like the game is easier for the standard armies "USA, NVA" than for the other players (VC, ARVN).

Again, other game I have fallen in love...

A "hot" game and one that I really would love to try. A 3-player game that simulates the conflict between USA, UK and SSSR for the hegemony during and post-WWII.

Right now it looks like it's biased towards the british, but we do not have really enough information.

A very popular (and deep) game, with statistics that show crazy movements - Sol is the best faction for 4 players and the worst for 5 player. I hope that players with more experience will cast a light over these results.

The statistics for Terra Mystica reveal that there are races clearly more powerful than others (Darklings, I'm looking at you). Surprisingly, these races are not as popular as others (Nomads, for instance) who does not fare as well as the Darklings.

Another game I love. Statistics for 2 players (1 attacker vs 1 defender) and 4 players (2 attackers vs 2 defenders) show the game to clearly favor the defense. 3 players (2 attackers vs 1 defender) is, however, a lot easier for the attackers than for the defender.
