Alchemy! the card game! Make potions, unleash chaos!

Quote:
Mix ingredients, create potions, and drink them to get ahead or sabotage your friends in Alchemy! A game of strategy for 3-5 players.

In Alchemy! players become apprentice alchemists sharing a laboratory and trying to outdo one another and prove they've got what it takes to become a master of their craft. Players compete to build potions from a random assortment of formulas laid out on the table at the start of the game and play cards to transmute materials, sabotage one another and mix potions faster.

Each potion can only be made once, so it's important to keep your eyes on what your opponents are trying to make. You can keep potions you make to earn points towards your victory or drink them, lowering their value but giving you an extra benefit.

Alchemy! is simple to play and features a mix of art from medieval alchemy books and more quirky, original art for the magical potions that players compete to build.
$25 for the game. Add $15 USD to ship outside the US.

This project will be funded on Mon, Mar 3 2014 10:20 AM EST.

oddball Aeronauts

Quote:
oddball Aeronauts is a simple, light strategy, played-in-the-hand (no surface required) card game of hi-jinks airship dogfights, set in an oddball fantasy world. Players take their Pirate or Pendragon officers, crew and bots, and go head-to-head in a duel in the sky.

As oddball Aeronauts is played out of the hand, it can be played anywhere 2 players can get together - in a convention queue, waiting for a bus, on a plane, in the car, on the beach, or even at the dining table!!

The deck of cards is divided into the two factions - each player takes up 1 of the 2 factions, adds in Events, shuffles and the game begins. Factions can be customised in advance with alternative Officers, Support and Crew cards.

Each round, players declare and compare Skills - adding in any bonuses - and take the consequences. Additionally, cards have Special Actions. Use these during a round to rearrange cards, cause more damage, recover cards, get bonuses and more.

The player with active cards remaining at the end of the game wins.
£15 for the game (approx $25 / €18). WORLDWIDE SHIPPING INCLUDED for all pledge levels.

This project will only be funded if at least £15,000 is pledged by Monday March 3, 9:00pm GMT.

President Wars- Battle Through The Centuries

Quote:
President Wars is a card and dice game that takes the traditional game of war and transforms it into a battle of epic proportions. The deck contains every president from George Washington to Barack Obama and they are each given a hit point value based on real life statistics determined by time spent in office, popularity and war experience.
On every battle card we added facts about each president. This game represents our country's complete leadership over the past 238 years.

Easy to learn and fun for all ages young & old, plus with so many card combinations this game has unlimited replay value and should never be the same game twice. Every battle brings together a different era in American history.

Every Game contains: 44 battle cards, 3 official dice , Official rules & Kickstarter promo cards.
$6 for the game. Add $15 for international shipping after the campaign.

This project will only be funded if at least $3,800 is pledged by Sun, Mar 30 2014 3:48 AM EST.

drawing blanks

Quote:
Drawing blanks is a classic draw and guess game for three or more people split into two or more teams. To play, one player pulls a card and sketches onto the drawing surface while the other players on their team try to guess the outrageous, horrendous, or possibly despicable word on the card. It is wildly inappropriate, often absurd, and facilitates a hilariously unconventional experience with your friends.

This Town Aint Big Enough for the 2-4 of Us! PWYW

Quote:
This Town Ain't Big Enough for the 2-4 of Us is quick draw tile laying game. Each tile is made up of Fences to stake out land, and Brands to determine who the top dog in each area will be.

On a player's turn they will draw and play a tile, adding it to the map however they like. Players want to make sure that their brands are not alone, but also are not out numbered.

When a tile is played that completes a fenced in area players score points based on the next biggest brand in the enclosure. Watch for silver bars, they go a long way to bribing those who might move a fence line in your favor.

Ph. D. The Game

Quote:
Ph. D. The Game is a card game that requires players to draw, play, and discard cards in order to be the first person in their lab to graduate grad school.

Getting publications accepted is never easy, but Lab Member Cards and other grad school themed action cards such as “Committee Meeting” and “Your PI Lost Funding” will either help you or hurt your other lab mates.

When you get enough Figure Cards, you can submit your publication for review (which will not always get accepted of course!). If you have enough accepted publications you will be the first in your lab to graduate with your Ph. D.!

This game truly embodies all the pain, stress, and agony that it is to be in graduate school.
$30 for the game. Add $10 to ship to Canada and $18 to ship internationally.

This project will only be funded if at least $2,200 is pledged by Sat, Feb 15 2014 9:27 PM EST.

Ryan Smith's CITY

Quote:
CITY is a family friendly game, requiring about 60 minutes to play, where you build the best city possible before the resources run out. You do this by managing your citizens, zoning the landscape and budgeting your resources.

CITY has been in development for a while now, and we're happy to say it's well past the design and test phase. We're in the manufacturing assessment phase, where we figure out the fine details of what and how to print. This phase will be complete before the campaign ends. This is great news, because it means we can start the presses as soon as the campaign ends fully funded.

We are shooting for a "Euro Game" aesthetic. The box will be 30 cm x 24 cm x 8 cm, and weigh in at about a kilo. What you see in this video is hand made prototypes. They have the look and feel we want, though final material may vary a bit.
$45 CAD early / $55 CAD for the game. International shipping appears to be included.

This project will only be funded if at least $19,000 CAD is pledged by Sun, Mar 2 2014 12:59 AM EST.

Heroes Wanted - a tactical board game for 1-5 heroes.

Quote:
As soon as you saw the ad in today’s Tribune, the certainty flooded over you. At last, this is your chance, the reason for all your training! All that work waterproofing your utility belt and practicing your one-liners will finally pay off. You call into work sick, feed the cat, and turn on your police scanner, waiting nervously for the first call–or at least, the call that’s close enough for you to get there first. You’ll stop at nothing to join your heroes, The Champions of Zeta City, and woe to any wannabe crime fighters who stand in your way!

Heroes Wanted is a tactical board game for 1-5 superhero hopefuls, attempting to fulfill their dreams of becoming a member of Zeta City’s exclusive crime fighting super team: The Champions of Zeta City. Each time you play, you will create a unique superhero comprised of two hero cards. You will then choose a scenario and face a different villain (or villains), but the objective remains the same: gaining as much fame as possible by KO’ing minions, completing headlines, and thwarting the villain. At the end of each game, the superhero with the most fame is the winner and joins the prestigious ranks of The Champions of Zeta City.
$50 early / $55 for the game. Add $10 to ship to Canada, $20 to Mexico or Europe, or $33 for the rest of the world.

This project will only be funded if at least $28,000 is pledged by Sun, Mar 9 2014 11:00 PM EST.

Heroes Of Metro City: Sidekicks & Storylines

Quote:
In the new Deluxe Kickstarter (KS) Edition of the Sidekicks & Storylines expansion, we add 160 new cards into the mix. There are 7 new Power cards, such as the electrifying Charged Grip which delivers more damage the more you build up your Energy first. It also contains 3 new Energy Sources, such as Metamorphosis, which rewards you with Plot Points (the game's currency) when you use energy-supplying Power cards (like Martial Arts Mastery or Accelerating Superspeed). Perhaps you're looking for more Archenemies to fight? Sidekicks and Storylines has three new terrifying masterminds of evil, including the murderous Killswitch Supreme, a cold fusion-powered cyborg who is only weakened when the Heroic team (that's you) fights as one. Only the Deluxe KS Edition will contain the 3 new Archenemies and the 1 new Villain -- THE RETAIL VERSION WILL NOT. Backing this project now gets you more cards!
$40 for the expansion. There are pledge levels where you can also get the base game. See project for international shipping costs.

Bigfoot

Quote:
A quick playing card game for two where Bigfoot and the clever Cryptozoologist attempt to outwit each other! Will Bigfoot's hideaways be discovered, leaving him with nowhere to go, or will the Cryptozoologist be left frustrated?

This new game from up and coming designer Scott Almes is the ultimate battle of wits! Depending on what side you're on, you'll be playing a very different game - The Cryptozoologist is laying traps and attempting to trick the Bigfoot who must deduce and work out what's the best option...

One player plays the Cryptozoologist who is hunting for Bigfoot, played by the other player. Each round, the Cryptozoologist will lay out a series of cards in two ‘paths’, which will contain sensing equipment and special actions. Then, Bigfoot must choose which path to go on, triggering any sensing equipment and giving the Cryptozoologist a few more clues about his Lair. The Cryptozoologist wins by pinning Bigfoot in one of his Lairs, while Bigfoot wins by eluding the Cryptozoologist for six rounds. Capturing this beast won't be easy...!

By slowly eliminating the various potential lairs, the Cryptozoologist will slowly whittle down the places where Bigfoot could actually be hiding. However, if this isn't done by the end of the sixth round the beast will escape the clutches of science!

$15 USA, $21.64 for Canada and $28.42 world. Shipping included in price.

This project will only be funded if at least $1,000 is pledged by Thu, Feb 27 2014 6:15 PM EST.

UFO Defense Protocol

Quote:
UFO Defense Protocol is a strategy board game for 2 to 7 players, which can be played as a team versus team game (humans versus aliens), or alternatively, as a full cooperative game (all the players against the game).

The game takes place in a situation of emergency. The existence of aliens has been discovered, and they threaten to invade the planet. The players either control a secret cell of humans or an imperial alien faction. They fight each other to protect or conquer the planet.

The game features construction, research, squad combat and air battles. All decisions and strategic actions are done in simultaneous turns, which means you won't have to "wait for your turn" during these phases. Ground and air battles are still resolved separately.

UFO Defense Protocol features seven factions (4 humans, 3 aliens). Every faction feels unique and allows for a wide range of play styles. They have their own abilities and extra special units.

Province - A Competitive Building Microgame for 2 Players

Quote:
Province is a two player game where you must manage your resources and workers to build, complete goals, and score the most victory points to win! It features eurogame strategy and only takes about 25 minutes to play. It also fits in a 4" x 4" bag, so it's easy to take with you.

To succeed you need to manage a communal worker pool representing the available workers in your town. Players move their workers to generate resources (Labor and Coin) that are used to build the various Structures, which in turn effect resource generation. But your opponent can also move the workers leaving you without the resources you need!

Shipwrights of the North Sea

Quote:
Shipwrights of the North Sea is set in the early years of the Viking Age, circa 1000 AD. As Viking shipwrights, players compete to build the greatest fleet on the North Sea. Players must collect oak, wool and iron, as well as getting other craftsmen on board to help. Gold is a precious commodity, and must be spent wisely. As you would expect, the island is filled with an array of characters, bad and worse. Better hope they're on your side!

Migration

Quote:
By the hundreds, creatures are emigrating from the Old World in search of hope and prosperity. The New World offers endless opportunity, but only to those who arrive first. In this clever game, players seek out territories to conquer and compete for the most fertile properties, making critical decisions to gain the advantage.

Migration is a land-grabbing game in which players play unique pieces on a board in order to claim territory. Each piece is treated differently, ignores certain rules or creates new conditions according to its type. Players continue to settle in regions while remaining careful to not upset opponents, walk into traps or restrict one's own growth options.

Dungeon Scroll

Quote:
As sorcerers of the mystical art of Word Weaving, you and several other treasure hunters will descend into the Tomb of the Forgotten Consonant and quest for the Syllabus of the Lost Syllable. When the journey is complete, only the most heroic word smith will walk away with the win!

Dungeon Scroll is a word game where players spell words (cast spells) to meet specific word challenges (dungeon encounters) to score points (gain gold).

If the encounter is a "combat" encounter, typically the player that can play the highest point word will win the encounter and claim the highest gold reward on the dungeon card, with other players claiming the second and third reward - however that is not always true as each dungeon challenge provides twists and turns; to the sorts of words that can be played!

SUPREMACY 2020 –Superpower Game of Nuclear Brinskmanship

Quote:
The long awaited return of this classic. Six superpowers battle for global supremacy in this tense yet simple game in the nuclear age.

After the cold war, boom years and then great recession, new superpowers emerge to contest the old...

Six superpowers battle for global supremacy in this tense yet simple game of nuclear brinksmanship. Compete in international trade for vital resources: minerals, oil and grain. Speculate and trade commodities on the world market. A strong economy fuels the arms race as you build armies, navies, nukes and a ‘star-wars’ defense system. Borrow money from the world bank or invest in bonds to increase your income. Don’t borrow too much or the crushing interest will bankrupt you!

As conflicts and nuclear arsenals grow, the world becomes a much more dangerous place. A nuclear strike may vanquish an enemy but will the retaliation trigger a nuclear winter destroying the world? To win, you will need a delicate balance of diplomacy, economic and military strength. You must form alliances, negotiate, threaten and bluff. Many strategies can lead to victory but only one superpower will achieve SUPREMACY.

This complete re-design of the classic cold war game has an updated map, currency and countries for the 21st century! We have corrected and streamlined the rules to make the game faster, easier and more intense.

Let Them Eat Shrimp!

Quote:
Let Them Eat Shrimp is a quick and easy tile placement game with strategic elements that make it fun for gamers and non-gamers alike. Players start with 4 "fish tiles" (which come in 4 geometric shapes: triangles, diamonds, trapezoids, and hexagons) and with 3 egg tokens. On a turn, a player places 1 of these fish tiles onto the game board, which has images of fish eggs, shrimp, starfish, and sharks on it. If the fish tile covers a fish egg, "spawning" occurs and the player collects more fish tiles. If the tile covers a starfish, the die is rolled to determine either a positive or negative result (e.g., taking a new fish tile or losing one). If a tile covers a shrimp, the player collects a shrimp token. Fish tiles covering sharks usually result in a player losing a fish tile or an egg token. At the end of the game, players score victory points for sets of fish tiles and for shrimp collected. If a player loses all 3 egg tokens during the game, the player is knocked out and does not make it to game end to score.

The game rules are easy to understand and can be taught in minutes. Playing time ranges from 15 minutes (for 2 players) to 30 minutes (for 5 players).
This project will only be funded if at least $13,000 is pledged by Sun, Mar 16 2014 10:55 PM CET.
