Téléthon is a charity event against muscular dystrophy in France.

Each year, a gaming association organize a 24 hours of gaming (from Saturday, 14:00 to Sunday, 14:00) at Saint-Leu-la-Forêt. Of course, all the benefits are donated.

This is my second participation in a row. This year, i managed to get there from 18:30 to 4:00. Here is the games i managed to play.

It was the first game played. My friends, who arrived earlier, waited for me to play the new Pearl Games's Essen release.

Scores : 138-103-102-96

The winner followed a building strategy, however, i found that his strategy was hard to start in the first third of the game. We were 3 to follow the building strategy but he did better than us at the end : 60 points during the end game scoring and 24 for us. The setup (expert) didn't help towards building : as a result, this was a massive use of the Bruxelles board.

The 4th player (who ended 2nd) has followed a strategy without building (he bought all Maeterlink cards and he did well on majorities around coats--he built only one time on the last turn though). This strategy would have been more competitive without a blatant back luck on the work of art's draw (4 yellow draw in a row while this color was exposed) : he remained a long time in the queue to exhibition.

We all wondered where he could have win the missing 35 points. So no future without building ?

My rating :  8.5  (based on 5 plays)

explained us the game (3 of us were newbies).

Scores : 120-118-99-42

I enjoy the simplicity of the gameplay, the accurate modelisation of a closed loop economy. A game of incitement where you will have to estimate the real price of each container colour (how much each other player are willing to buy a given container color). Hence, this is not easy to fix prices : too low and you won't earn that much money to participate for auction (competition must be taken into account here though); too high and nobody won't ever purchase your production or visit your docks.

What i found interesting is the possibility to trigger an auction in order to earn money for the purchase of a cargo interesting for you.

I am not a big fan of bidding/auctioning game but here it is very straightforward and doesn't screw the game flow.

Eager to play this clean design again ASAP even if i did very bad.

My rating :  9  (after my only one play)

My FLGS arrived and was willing to play a short game. We decided to chose Spyrium.

Score : 73-72-63-49.

I went for a residence and building strategy (i bought the crane). It was pretty slow to start but i was on level 5 of residence at the beginning of the 5th turn. On this turn, 2 residences and the architect were available : i placed my dudes in order to make the residence action 5 times. In fact, i managed to make it 4 times (level 7 then 21 VP) and i caught on the scoring track.

I ended 2nd, missing only 1 point. My crane scored me 6 VP.

wanted to play this Ystari's gem. As i am always willing to play it, i could not refuse even if it might hindered my play of Pax Porfiriana (the 2 other players who were willing to play it were playing a 5P Automobile).

Scores : 84-65-59

I went for Palace as there was 3 palace tiles next to each other. I managed to get to the level 6 of palace and i planted 6 times for the 10 VP final bonus.

Me : i had the level 1 of caravaner and banker.
2nd player : no card and 5 planted tiles
3rd player : he had the level 2 of caravaner, level 3 of banker and 3 planted tiles.

My rating :  10  (after 29 plays)
