I recently had my first tattoo and I'm really pleased with it, so much so that I wanted to share it with the community!

I know there are a few more tattooed geeks out there and saw this as a good opportunity to show off what you have, as well as tell any story behind it. So those of you willing to share please add a new item.

(Although there has been some of these lists before it hasn't been done for a while and what with the geek seeing more and more users I didn't think there would be any harm in running a new geek list)

I'd always promised myself that I would have my first tattoo as a memorial piece for my dog, Jaz, when he died. Sadly this came to pass in May of 2013.

I knew that I wanted to have something that could be added to (I have, and plan to have, further dogs) and also wanted something that was particular to dogs. I'd considered something like a dog bone or dog bowl but wasn't convinced with the idea. I eventually decided upon the classic dog paw with Jaz's name written underneath. My tattooist came up with idea of the paw print looking like an imprint as though Jaz had left a lasting impression.

The final design was far above and beyond what I had hoped for.

That was my first, on my shoulder. Japanese says "gamer" and the cards and dice spell out John 3v16.

After that I got "Si deus nobiscum qui contra nos" across my chest which is the Morris family motto for the last however many hundred years (If God is for us who can be against us?)

Then I got the RAF circles on the front of both shoulders. Partly 'cos my grandfather transported the first ever Spitfire and partly because in ye olde days pirates would get stars there to show they had sailed 5000 and then 10,000 miles. As I'd travelled to live in Japan, BUT I'd been by plane rather than ship, it seemed to fit better.

Then below my gamer tattoo I got one of a cyclist in front of a large red sun (Japan). In the corner is a timer showing 5'22". That's my wedding anniversary. The cyclist is alone and the time also shows that sometimes you're ahead of the group, sometimes you're behind, but it doesn't matter. You cycle for the beauty and suffering of the cycling.

I have 5, but I only have pictures of 2 of them...

This is my most recent one (and the only one I've gotten in the past 7 years! ) This picture was taken like a day after I got it, so it wasn't healed...

Another picture once it had healed...

This is a picture of the last tattoo I got before my 7 year hiatus... (Please note that I was 35 weeks pregnant when the picture was taken!) It was supposed to be a fairy, buuuttt... whatever, haha.

(Edit: Also, whatever the photographer did to that photo made some of the lines (thumb, inside line of her right leg, right arm, ect) darker than they actually are, so it looks weird in the picture...)
