2014 - games to get played

Time to formalize the wargames I'd like to get to the table with my regular opponents (Chuck and Eric) and my irregular opponents (Doug, Alex, Dan, and Matt).
Added EotS and Totaler Krieg, to bring the list to 25. That's a lot of gaming plans, and I fully expect to not get anywhere close to playing even half of them.

This is my ongoing solo OCS game. It sat dormant for most of the year, but I've recently spent more time on it. The aim is to finish before the year is up.

Another solo game sitting in the background, the Gold/Sword/Juno scenario. I've got through to the end of June 7th, and the Commonwealth forces are starting a serious push inland.
However, this is the one more likely to get picked up, as I'm less familiar with the rules, so have to keep referring to the rule book. I'd still like to get through it, though, especially as Battle For Sicily is not far away now.

This is half-way through with Chuck. The Soviets are making little progress, as the chits have favored the Axis. Still, it ain't over until it's over.

Eric and I have already played once (and got our buts kicked by the AI players) and we plan to have a second go at this one.

Chuck and I had always talked about giving the GBACW games a serious go, and we finally got this on the table for a first kick last year to get familiar with the rules. After we complete AVL this will be back on the table as we give it a full play.

Following on from Dead of Winter (Stones River) Chuck and I plan to head for Chickamauga and continue our dabble with GBACW. (I really like series games, as it gives more return for the rules reading time.)

I've played Andean Abyss and Cuba Libre with Eric, and we both like those. This is likely to hit the table at some point.

Another in the COIN series, and I have it on pre-order. I'm sure Eric would be willing to play this.

One of Eric's favorites, and we've played a good bit of this in the past. I'd be very interested in continuing that trend.

Chuck and I have talked about this one several times, and this could be the year.

Eric and I played this once before and had a blast with it. I'd be very down with giving it another go.

Although Doug thinks I'm going to hate this game, the subject matter could just swing it for me. Being an air guy (and kinda RAF), there's something about this that just piques my interest.

Chuck and I played this and pretty much nothing else for almost two years, including a couple of learning efforts and completing the campaign game twice. Although I'm not big on VASSAL, the BG module with the full Fog of War settings looks like it could be a whole new experience.

I love this series of tactical games, as I think they're closest to resembling the chaos of low-level combat in WWII and the lack of control once contact with the enemy is made. However, the game hates me, and my games always go badly. It's got so bad that Chuck refuses to play this with me any more, as the games are no fun.

Once we get through the GBACW kick, this is one I'd really like to get more play time with. I've done a lot (as in almost nothing but for two years) of OCS with Chuck and I'd like to get to know this one better for comparison. We've played with it a couple of times in the past, so it shouldn't be too hard to pick it up again.

Then again, Chuck and I may just go back to OCS and get this on the table, one we're both interested in trying.

Chuck and I played this once at our gaming retreat a few years back and had a good time with it. With the latest GMT version I plan to get it back on the table again. This may be a solo play, however, and I'm not sure where the table space will come from (Dead of Winter and River of Death will keep my main table occupied for most of the year, I expect), but somehow, some way...

Likely a solo side project, I can put it in a poster frame and shelf it as needed. I love the Simonitch 'bond' series games, so I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

One I picked up last year, flicked through the rules a bit, but never got to the table. Another solo game.

Another of the games that are likely to be solo efforts which sit in the storage tray in a poster frame for a while. Chuck and I played some Roads to Leningrad in the past, but one rule (regarding overrun retreats) spoiled the system for me. That rule has now been clarified (and the RtM rules now include that) such that it isn't as stupid now, and I could see me getting full enjoyment from both games.

The rules were hard to grok (for various reasons) but I enjoyed my time with the game and I liked the general system. I've got the reprint and the new version on pre-order, so I can see this getting on the table at some point.

Another new one waiting for table time. I only tried the Est Front one a couple of times, never really playing it enough to get to grips with it. That will change this year, especially with two games in the series, and more on the way.

Chuck commented that I didn't have any CDGs on the list. Well, I had to stop somewhere, otherwise this would just be a list of all my games, so I hadn't included any originally.
However, if I were to choose one, it would be this.

I had a short play with Chuck a while back, and I had a real hard time getting into the rules and flow of the game. However, another game I'm totally intrigued with and would like to get back on the table at some point. I'd also like to try the Pacific Theater sister game, Dai Senso, especially to compare with EotS mentioned above.
