Thursday 6th and 12 of us in attendance, at least I think it was 12.

Chloe, Mark, Bobby and I played this one first. We played standard setup as it's been a while for all of us and Bobby was new to the game and Chloe had only played once - Mark and I thought it was at least 2 years since we'd last played.

Only Bobby and I had a temple in place at the end of the 1st round which I ended quickly and that also gave me 6 points from the moon priestess. The game then continued over the next few rounds reasonably uneventfully. In the last round with all my temples placed I did nothing other than turn over the time markers, meaning the other 3 didn't have time to play the actions they wanted and denying them the ability to catch up with the lead I'd established.

Jon, Biff and myself sat down to Suburbia after failing to find enough players for Game of Thrones cry
Jon taught Biff and along with heeding the advice in the rulebook, Biff achieved crazy high (and consistent) levels of income to rocket his score off the board.
Me and Jon were pretty even all game but he managed to edge me out for 2nd.
Apparently our scores (~130) would normally be good enough for a win - not that day...

AMIGA CENTAURI

Dan brought along Spiral Galaxy's latest game in development for others to try.
Dan taught the game to tall Dan, Yurg and Steve S.
They played the Long Game option and the game had to be called early with Yurg leading on points at the time.

Dan plans to bring this along in the future and I'm sure he'd welcome any interest and feedback so holler if you're interested in a game

And finally I managed to twist Jon's arm for a friendly game of Netrunner.
Just a single game with me as Corp (HB) versus Jon's runner (Criminal)

An odd game, we both suffered from a poorly shuffled deck. Jon couldn't find an icebreaker to save his life and I kept drawing ice pretty much exclusively.
Eventually I got the servers up, managed to cobble some kind of economy and score my agendas before Jon could really do anything.
Final score 7-0.

Chloe, Mark and I settled down for a jaunt round the caves. Chloe started and went off exploring, I followed her path, picking up many of the spoils until after 1 consecutive squeeze to many I was forced to leave my tent behind and head for base. Mark meanwhile had found the most physical area of the cave and was busy portering and setting up rope systems as the cave descended. Chloe quickly visited and got down to 100m before heading off in a new area. I'd already done that and as well as squeezes was enjoying diving into the pools of quite a lengthy river system. Towards the end I had a quick dash down to the depths Mark had discovered to pick up a few depth tokens but it wasn't enough. Chloe and I were left in Marks shadows as his rope and photo stack proved enough to win.

Got to love that limestone being soluble creates such fabulous formations.

Six of us sat down to conquer Westeros: Crayg, Baratheon; Dan, Tyrell; Biff, Lannister; Steve, Stark; Steve, Martell?; Dani, Greyjoy

Hopefully the others can chip in with what they were up to as I was mostly focused on my own half of the board. I spent most of the game Skirmishing with Steve's Starks to the north, fighting for control over the neck at Moat Cailin. Dan and I both spent most of the game without any star points on the raven track so we couldn't muster every turn, having to rely on the mustering cards from the deck. That meant that I absolutely had to make each mustering card worthwhile, which meant I needed every castle I could get my hands on. Add to that that Moat Cailin would have let me start adding ships in the eastern seas and I was fixated on it. Unfortunately Steve also wanted it to give himself a land route down into the centre of the board and it changed hands between us almost every turn.

During this I was using my fleets along the western seas to launch occasional raids against Steve's least defended areas, trying to draw his resources back north and away from the areas I was interested in, but I was unable to stop him taking and controlling the north eastern seas and using that as a path to the centre.

I had allied with Biff for the whole game and when he needed to consolidate his forces, pulling to the south, he left me a castle as a parting gift which I took. My other game long ally chose this moment to attack me, taking one of my undefended castle - a treachery that shall forever be known as Castlestealingasshole-gate. I had to waste my last move taking it back but it was a worthwhile decision as we chose to end the game the following turn, with three of us on four castles.

My Greyjoys won it on the tie-break but it was more luck than judgement - Biff had reached five castles at his height, while I had been bouncing around between 3 and 4 for the whole game. It was just happenstance that I had four on the final round (one of which was his) and the tie-break went in my favour

I'd like to play it again now that I have a bit more idea of what to do, but probably set aside a whole afternoon for it so that the various schemes and strategies that people had would have time to play out

Chloe, Dani, Gaz, Jim and Trish played a round of Eight Minute Empire, which was a first for Claire, Trish and myself. After ten minutes of frantic conquering I had the highest score from area control, with Trish and Chloe right behind me, Gaz a little further back. Jim was also playing I guess, it was hard to tell with his teeny tiny empire.

Sadly while focusing on expansion I had neglected resources and only picked up a scant 3 points, leaving me on a total of ten, drawn with Trish and one ahead of Chloe on nine. Gaz soared past us all though with a mighty eleven to take first place. Jim actually made up a lot of the distance with his resource sets and picked up five points, leaving him on six and saving himself from eternal shame.

Chloe, Claire, Dan, Dani, Gaz, Jim, Trish

We settled down for an evening of thrills and spills and were not disappointed, our first race being a violent single lap of Buddh. The first corner alone saw three collisions, littering the track with debris for the other racers to weave through. Almost no-one made it through the first half of the track unscathed (with the singular exception of the White and Orange car, driven by veteran racer Dani, who was more than capable of meeting the difficult challenge) and things came to a head on the third corner. Claire and Gaz were both on their final point of bodywork going into corner three. Unfortunate placement and rolling meant that Claire was forced to take the corner close to rookie Gaz who panicked and momentarily lost control of his car; that split second was all it took for the two to collide, sending them both spinning out into the barriers. It being only the third corner on Claire's first race, the marshals decided to tow both cars back onto the track, put some duct tape over the worst of the damage and set them on their way again, now driving much more carefully.

The rest of the race was a fight between Dan, Jim, Chlobo and Trish, with Jim and Chloe's Team Green taking the gold and silver. Dan picked up bronze with Trish just behind him, me a little further back and then Claire. Gaz exploded. Again.

Race two took place on one of the streetrace maps, with a jump and several crossroads. We started in reverse order, so Claire was on pole followed my myself, Trish, Dan, Chloe and Jim. Poor Gaz's DNF in the previous race earned him last position on the grid. Claire managed to extend her front position in the first corner while the rest of us completely blocked it, causing a few minor scrapes and leaving a few wing mirrors lying on the track. At the back of the pack Gaz found the traffic a solid wall and couldn't even get into the corner, forcing him to slow for another turn as the rest of us slowly began to separate out. By this point I was already down to my last bit of bodywork so I breathed a sigh of relief as I pulled away from the others with only Claire for company. Naturally, she took every opportunity to sideswipe me but my deft handling and long years of experience let me dance away every time. We made it through all three crossroads with no drama but then, a mistake! I dropped to fourth to enter the long corner leading to the bridge jump, thinking it would give me time to get back into the fifth for the jump itself. Most other drivers stayed in fifth going into the corner though, overtaking me and sending me spiralling back from first place, into second, third, fourth and finally fifth. And just to rub salt into the wound, as Trish came hurtling past me (clearly out of control!) she slid sideways into me and pushed me clean through the barrier and into the harbour beyond! What's more, the move paid dividends for her as it gave her a perfect position to begin accelerating for the jump, hurtling past the other drivers and into second place.

All of the drivers made it past the jump, though there were a few close calls and by now the track had taken its toll on the other cars - a number were running on almost bare tires and were held together with the sheer willpower of their drivers. Claire still held the lead but her bold driving style led her to spin out on the penultimate corner. She had a decent lead ahead of Trish but Trish had controlled her speed beautifully and was eating up the distance between them as Claire struggled to get started again.

At this point we had an intermission while I tried to fish a d20 out of my coke with two plastic straws. Pro player Jim made the classic noob mistake of passing his dice-hand over a row of drinks while rolling and his trembling grip had proven dangerously insecure! While distracted with my drink I missed what happened next, but when I looked back Dan's car had mysteriously exploded. I'm not saying that Jim used the distraction to send an agent to sabotage Dan's car, but I'm not NOT saying it, if you know what I mean. Poor Gaz was still struggling a third of a lap behind everyone else, having never quite recovered from that first corner but at least he was now up into fifth

In the final corner, Claire moved up into fourth gear and moved to the outside lane, the only position that would guarantee that she couldn't spin out. Trish took advantage and took a shorter line through the corner, also in fourth and using her very last break-point to maintain her speed without overshooting the corner. It was now a straight dice-for-dice run down the final straight between the two drivers, and Trish had an advantage of a single space - enough to ensure that she rolled first. Both drivers slammed up to fifth gear with the finishing line only 15 spaces away. Trish rolled first but her luck ran out as she only made a 12, leaving her three spaces short while Claire rolled fifteen. Claire was also short of the finish line but crucially had enough to eke past Trish to guarantee that she would be able to finish first, taking the gold.

I can't remember who finished ahead out of Chloe or Jim but I do remember that Gaz finished several days later, having bounced around the track like a drunken octopus on an icerink.

Looked neat as I went past and am told it plays a little like Suburbia in that you get bonuses for building next to other certain buildings.
