Matt had the only full set of a single color ride. His points came primarily from the income resulting from getting a lot of customers out early and often. I focused on claiming casinos in the early rounds, which meant I could avoid worrying much about the dice rolling thereafter. Matt and Mark had fairly dirty parks (16 and 15, respectively), while I kept mine clean (5).

Special powers: Self-destruct, Megaweapon, Shields

What lies beyond space? I would have guessed "more space," but apparently the answer is "battle." I am happy to see that Megaweapon makes an appearance in this game. A late game use of the shield special allowed Matt to keep a capital ship until the game end.

The investors wanted large cars and lots of range.

We used the advanced rule set with the alternate action spaces in the junkyard, and included Overheated but not the Engineer Assistants. I think it's a huge improvement over the basic game. I'm a bit skeptical of the assistants, but will try them at some point.

The scores in this game are always tight. The hand limit is a particularly brutal constraint. Cars were much more stable this time than is typical, with nobody ever exceeding 1 volatility. Dan's final car was 8 tiles, while I had 12, but his elegant design won the day. I don't believe Matt every visited the back alley for shady dealings, but Dan and I both did a couple times each.

GOTM nominee! We have not decided anything official, but if anyone wants to play this next week, I guess this is it.

Bruce failed to colonize Madras three times early in the first phase. Matt led throughout the game, though Mark made a game showing at the end.

This game was confusing to learn, since we kept searching for the missing rondel.

I quite like the core conceit of the game, which combines the "everyone has the same cards and just chooses the order" idea that brings inherent balance to games with the idea of purchasing additional cards. It all hangs together quite well.

Matt was forced to fill up his board with goods he did not want once late in the game, preventing him from getting the things he needed. We probably need to look up an official ruling on that.

Mark gained 48 points from Mars cards alone, bringing the score to a tie. The lame tie breaker (who has the Praefectus Magnus card) awarded him the ultimate victory.
