I found this marvellous hobby and the geek for about three years ago. Since then, I have tried about 170 games, most of them I have bought my self. After tried most types, and seeing this list, it is quite obvious I am europhile.

To celebrate 1000 logged games, I have made this top fifteen list.

The game play revolves around logistic planning and resource management. It is 15 years old, but feels very fresh and unlike anything I have tried.

Le Havre is almost as good as its younger brother Agricola. It offers a longer, more relaxed game play. The rules are super easy and the goal is clear - get the the most money!

The famous gears in Tzolkín creates a super interesting time aspect for the workers. If you like thinky games you will love Tzolki´n. It is tight and unforgiving but really rewarding if you are playing it right.

Keyflower offers a fresh mix of worker placement and auctions where meeples is the currency. The artwork is cute but don’t be fooled, the game has teeth. Excellent, excellent game.

I love having 7 Wonders in my collection. Its almost as good with seven players as with three. Besides everyone always enjoys it.

The theme and artwork is bland but Dominion is indeed a ground breaking game. My love for board games almost died and then dominion came along and ignited my passion for the hobby again. It is easy to learn, fast playing and a lot of fun!

Dominant species has to be one of the most well designed games I have played! The only reason it is not higher on my list is the amount of nastiness inherent in the survival of the fittest.

Though the ages has everything that a civilization game needs, except a map. It is long, complex and has many moving parts. Playing it feels like a giant civ puzzle or like fine tuning your empire, and I love it.

With the mancala as a central mechanism, Trajan offers super interesting choices within a fairly easy rules set. Hasn’t seen as many plays as I would like but I am really looking forward to playing more. The hottest game on the list for me.

War of the rings is another game that stands out a bit compared to the other games on the list. I am a huge LoTR fan and this game replicates the journey in every way. It is fiddly but it has an epic feel to it and is exciting in four hours!

This is just a marvellous card game and truly a super filler! When the players are familiar with the game that is. Every hand is interesting and the game offers a plethora of different strategies.

Terra Mystica is an odd game. Something magical happens when the playing pieces and mechanisms are put together. Something magical that made me play a heavy euro game more than fifteen times.

Mage Knight is a monstrous, complex adventure game and not the type of game I usually like. Even so, I have played over 20 solo games, and enjoyed every single one of them very much. Every turn is both interesting and exciting.

This game is soo tense! Some people don’t like the pressure put on players but I love it. Still, the best thing with Agricola is the abundance of cards, creating an interesting and fresh game over and over again.

A very tight logistic/economy game filled with satisfying and meaningful choices. After seven games, I am still getting a warm fuzzy feeling while playing. It is always a blast playing Brass. It is my favourite game!
